I genuinely don't think any other piece of soundtrack has ever unnerved me as much as this one does, the slowly increasing scream of pain from an unknown origin, escalating as if enduring the worst torture you could imagine only to suddenly go quiet and then start again with an ever looming drone in the background. It feels like a snake slowly creeping over your chest and restricting you more and more, until the music completely breaks down by the end. It feels like the musical interpretation of a full blown panic attack going completely out of control. What makes this song so great is that it doesn't tell you ANYTHING about what you're supposed to run from. It only represents the way any human being would be FEELING in that scenario. It doesn't tell you what you should be afraid of, but it grabs that insecurity and it takes it to the absolute limit, like you are right at the verge of a heart attack just from being in this horrendous place. You can't fight something you can't understand. You can only run.
I always believe a song can be put into actions, like a play or movie. I can’t for the life of my figure out what is happening with the mechanical screams, but the end is definite the screaming creature finding you and chasing you
It's like the screams is someone being tortured or eaten alive by the monster. And the sudden, repeating screeching is that monster finding you... And chasing you for it's next meal.
The way I imagined it is some party in an underground dystopia where lights are flashing, people doing drugs and the person is slowly losing their mind and as the beat drops is just crazy angles of the people around as the line between reality and fiction blurs into madness.
One thing I love about this track is how you don’t immediately know if some parts of the track are parts of the song, or coming from some unperceived threat, like I deadass thought the part at the end was one of the jail cells being broken open or something
Really great soundtrack. Put in a very tense part of the game since if you don’t know what you’re doing, when you enter the apartments, you will have an insanely difficult time traversing the silent hill dimension. The wind is only taken out of the themes sails if you’re able to clap the neighbors with little trouble, but for a first time player, this is very unlikely to be the case, and it will be an extremely stressful journey to avoid the neighbors, get the item, and get out.
If this track was just a little bit longer it would go down in history as one of the most horrifying songs in a game, up there with some original silent hill songs
put it on loop and you'd understand the feeling it gives. Unless you've played Termina already, then I question the taste of your music. Although I never got into Silent Hill so I think I shall peruse their music instead.
I've had this audio affect in a dream before, the part at the end where the scream kicks up into what ever unbridled horror would make that kind of sound. Weird af and terrifying
I was playing as Marcoh when I heard this the first time and I legit got goosebumps and admittingly I thought this song was absolutely badass. Everything about suspend and sudden squeal was incredible and really added to the exploration of it all
This song is triggers a deep anxious feeling in me, but in a cool way. I imagine the tortured souls of man being twosted in death to form the machine god Logic.

The one composing this could give Akira Yamaoka a run for his money! In regards to anxiety amplifying industrial ambiance not seen since the OG Silent Hill soundtrack.
Those Neighbor enemies really reminded me of running around the Mall in Silent Hill 3 from the Closers, even the way they wobble around with their big 'ol stumps! Good memories.
Absolutely incredible how much this elevates a spooky area into one you absolutely want to get out of as soon as possible, the grungy dark beat lead-up is a great tone-setter but the mixture of genuinely disturbing screams of pain and then the last 10 seconds turn this into one of the most effective pieces of horror gameplay I've ever enjoyed in an RPG.
I love this track and its function to bits. Being suddenly locked into the eerie sleeping apartment was already suffocating enough but then you're forced to go even deeper inside and the soundtrack immediately makes it such a severe climax of the tension of the apartment that came before. Ive seen some ppl mention how certain areas in Termina feel like the original Fear and Hunger with how entrapping they are and I feel like this one was the absolute highlight of the simulation of that feeling, specifically comparable to the Gauntlet, but the fact that it attacks the player not with difficult gameplay (the Gauntlet can only feel scary for so long as you walk into those swift swinging axes and get cut into half and have your immersion ruined by having to load your save) but with horrible and oppressive sound, especially prolonged by having just a large amount of moderately easy enemies instead of a few very difficult ones that would yet again replace your time to feel terrified with tedious, precise gameplay that needs your focus. A very well crafted part of the game to guarantee as much horror from players as possible. In general the soundtracks of fear and hunger are amazing at setting the tone and makes me marvel all the more how much a good and expertly utilized soundtrack can impact an experience. Also very loud like the very washing machine you climb into. Washing machines are scary.
That sound straight up made my hairs stand up straight. Way to make me hate my favorite type of instruments. It had me freaking stressed thinking that meant something saw me and was chasing me from offscreen. Had that same feeling I had hearing the Red Man scream in F&H1 as I passed by. When I arrived at this point I truly felt hopeless with this theme playing, this game does such an amazing job at creating that type of atmosphere when it needs to
You know, up untill this point in the game I would occasionally have the thought that F&H 2 wasn't doing something to me that the first game did. The insidious way it clawed its way into my dreams and continued haunting my thoughs throughout the day. What ever it is, this track and the moldy appartments alone returned that feeling to me for sure. It's actually kind of weird, the "Mahabre streets" song from the first game always made me uncomfortable in a strange way too. The visual it gave me was of rotting fruit, that somehow, you just know tastes really good, dispite the fact that you also see its decaying right in front of you. Like the congnative disanance when you first realize there's mold on the bread you just used to make a sandwich, but more intense. This track "Relentless" feels like the conclusion of that feeling. Like the fruit has rotted to a state beyond recognition and now is a home to maggots and worms and flies and the disonance of processing the fact that the thing you were once looking forward to enjoying could have its form corrupted so completly and entirly. It makes me sick. And I still come back to it over and over. Like a fruit fly. (tldr: spooy song makes me feel un-okay)
