No cap. This video just convinced me to only deal with real Christmas Trees from now on. Can't wait for my house to smell like evergreen for the foreseeable future.
Yes!!! We reached out to the people in charge of distributing the trees on the Jersey Shore - we were hoping to film them doing it but they wanted us to pay a fee to film it! 🙄
I secure the base while my tree is outside and then I carry it in. If I'm concerned that the base won't stay on while I carry the tree in then the base is not on properly. Great video
My favorite internet personality! the live vs. artificial trees is a little more complicated. a good artificial tree will last years or decades (I've had mine for 20 years), and thus doesn't require energy requirements annually to grow/harvest/deliver/discard. Definitely not saying artificial is better (either overall or for the environment)...just something to consider.
Nicole- you are a delight to watch, not obnoxious at all! So many who make these kind of videos are and the information you provide is astounding! I used to flock Xmas trees when I worked at a nursery, I thought I knew a lot about Xmas trees, but you've enlightened me, I humbly thank you and now, back to binge watching!
Hi! I just want to ask if you can make a documentary about bayleaf, o haven't see its tree yet and also cinnamon, and star anis....thanks! You have a nice videos and they are all interesting 😘
This video should have hundreds of thousands of likes imo. Amazingly informative and great quality editing. So happy I found your channel. Cheers! Here’s to a happier 2022. ❤️
I have 4 Christmas trees in my house each year. But i just wrap them with garbage bag full of ornaments and lights when Christmas ends and unwrap them again when the next Christmas comes. It’s always ready-made Christmas trees each year, no sweat and labor LOL. And i don’t take down my outdoor Christmas lights, i just unplug them, then plug them in again on the next Christmas season, unless i change the design, that’s when put i effort on putting them on again.
Nicole! I missed the release of this video and I wished I had known about that awesome tree stand and how to pick the right tree! Amazing video, full of incredible knowledge and tips! Thank you and happy holidays!
Tree Tips- 1. The spongy material right under the thin bark is the ONLY AREA that absorbs water. Easily remove it (the bark is thin) from the base where the cut is to expose more of it for watwr absorption. 2. The trees needles drop when water deprived from the bottom up. If you want to test the tree for needle drop, pull on some branch near the bottom, not the top or at arm's height. 3. Use hot water in the tree stand reservoir the very first time you are filling it. After that the water temperature you give it doesn't have to be hot. 4. If you do see that you have bottom needle drop, spray Wilt Stop or Wilt Pruf on the bottom and entire tree before you decorate it. It needs time to dry and Wilt Stop really helps. 5. Place a tree disposal bag under the trunk of the tree (I cut a hole for the trunk) and pull it over the tree when you drag it into the house. (keeps it from leaving a trail of needles in the house. Then drop the bag to the floor and leave it under the tree to catch needles when you decorate it. The trunk hole is bug enough to access tree stand for water. Cover it (bag) with your tree skirt or collar after decorating. When ready to haul it out for recycling, pull up the bag and you will reduce the mess of clean up drastically! 6. Lights- Wrapping each branch from tip to trunk takes more lights but the results are amazing. The thicker the tree branches and needles, the more lights you need. My 7.5' tree took 1,000 lights because it was such a thick tree. Save a light box for when you run out and need to match the light color. Warm white, incandescent and LED all look different. 🎄 🙏🌞
Exactly correct, water, water, water . . . and never let it go dry, even for 15 minutes. First few days, check it several times per day. Trees can take up an amazing amount of water.
Woah! I just saw a tree for $49, omg, where can I get a tree for that price?? Haha!! I like the new spin on this, especially when you include your family... makes it feel more relatable, especially since I don't have a "marriage saver", maybe next year :)
Great Christmas Tree videos. I have a Christmas Tree retail lot in Nor Cal, I am going to post your Christmas Tree links on my feeds to get my customer base excited and prepared. I do have a question regarding that tree stand that you recommend. I have not been able to find any like it on the web. Do you have a link that you can share for those?
We planted one of ours in the garden and it is growing now, every now and then I take some branches off to feed to my guinea pigs or my neighbours goats 😁 ( not all Christmas trees are safe to feed, only silver firs)
That 2 part series of this was so cool I learned a lot and was captivated. You're a wonderful host it reminds me of Huell Houser from California's gold.
The only issue I have is living in an apartment and not having a car it was hard having a real tree. Where I live now they have pick up for houses but not apartments. I'll look into the nursery drop off though. I might be able to do that. I love having a real tree 🎄

I don't know She don't talk to me..but anyway his parents were awesome they had their own house on top of a hill and they're huge huge backyard and their big ass cabin house they would get this tree and it would be like almost 15 ft tall at the front of the house It was amazing seeing how they got that tree in there I never got to see them put the tree up but it was so cool to see this huge ass tree in this house It hit the ceiling of their house It was *BONKERS!* Oh and not to mention they had *FREAKING* horses in the backyard and barn cats which I loved I wish I could go back to that place I'd love spending time there with their golden retriever that would lean on you until you gave em pets, they also had two cute lil white fluffy dogs and 1 bird hunting dog his dad was a hunter but idk how good he was at that. But ah memories of trees n' shit ☺️ lol Mom if ur out there hmu wtf. 🤦🏻♀️

Well i just finished setting up my Christmas tree (artificial one from like many years ago) Surprisingly, i did the every branches lighting method without ever knowing there are techniques, (just because I got the long string this year). normally it will be just a circle method. and THANK YOU for that 100 light for the vertical foot of trees! My rules for Christmas trees is the light need to be white or warm yellow light only, no colourful light. and also thank you for the environmental clarification, I already have this old one from years ago before I was very conscious about sustainability. I will just use and kept this artificial one as long as it can.
Hi Nicole! I put my tree in a pot. Do you think potted christmas trees are better than cutted ones? Or do you think cutted ones live last? I live in italy so we don't have the chance to choose our christmas tree, they just arrived already close. Great video you are such a really creativity person.... Good luck😊

One year, the zoo here in Singapore asked for people to donate their trees to the zoo's beaver, Justin Beaver. So... that's a form of recycling?
Absolutely! I've also heard of goat farmers taking Christmas trees because the goats eat them.
Can everyone please take a moment and appreciate the name Justin Beaver!?
Great video! I live at the Jersey Shore and here, many towns use used Christmas trees as a natural barrier against winter storm surges.

Weaving the lights to give it depth was new to me. Super entertaining while being informative 👍
I've been doing that for years and it really does work. I weave in and out while going around, not top to bottom. I'm sure either way would work fine.

You should use led lights instead of the conventional one's they use a lot less electricity and give off little heat
Yes, it's true! But LED lights flicker madly on camera, so for the sake of filming, we had to go conventional.

Why fir, as opposed to other conifers, such as spruce or pine?
As their name states, they are soft as fur. Members of the Abies genus don't have sharp spiky needles as pine or spruce, which makes them a pleasure to decorate. Another bonus, they don't have wind born pollen like pine and spruce. For those who suffer from allergies, these make a great tree because they won't have any pollen residue on them.
