    Thanks for sharing. Our son is currently at yonsei in a dorm whilst on a year exchange from uk (shame given its online and theres restrictions in place but hey?). He plans to return later to do his masters so would need to get an apartment so wondered how much was the deposit? Here in the uk it's a max of 5 weeks rent so usually a month is taken but heard that in korea they ask for the equivalent of 2-3 years rent?

    • @cathyinkorea
      @cathyinkorea  3 года назад

      My deposit was ₩10,000,000 which is standard for an officetel like this. But if he wants to get a one-room (not something in a tall building like this) usually the deposits can be cheaper! Around ₩3-5,000,000 is pretty common for those

    • @cathyinkorea
      @cathyinkorea  3 года назад

      The deposit is just key money so you’ll get it back after your lease is up, but when I moved in all I had to pay was the key money, one month rent, and then the contract fee
