I remember playing this exact version of the game in the 80ies on a (probably) 286 with an EGA screen (dark orange / black) it was so fascinating back then pure nostalgia thank you
I won't say this is still one of my favorite games (I rarely play it for more than a few minutes at a time), but when I first saw it as a kid, I was immediately *entranced* with it.
@СМОТРИ ОПИСАНИЕ As the Blue Sky Rangers said, if you document it, it's a feature. (On Space Hawk, a particular combination of control disc and button presses was interpreted as a number key and would put the player's ship into Hyperspace seemingly at random, and there was no way to fix this because it was just the way the controllers were built. So they just added a line to the instruction manual that says "Every once in a while, your space hunter will move near a 'black hole,' and the computer will automatically put him into HYPERSPACE."
Alright. It's Saturday night, I have no date, A 2 Liter bottle of Shasta, and my all Rush mixtape. Lets rock.
The greatest arcade of the 1970s. Simple but very fun to this day.
In the beginning, there was space. Then, it was invaded.
@17:00 Interesting. Never knew the invaders could shoot right through/past you when they were low enough.
44 years of one of the legendary games in gaming history

Making a Longplay of Space Invaders without sound is like making a longplay of Strip Poker without video.
