Love this pedal. Instant classic. That spring though. It's just bad, and they know it. So close to being the best reverb ever. It kinda is despite it, but... come on.
Meh who's getting it for the Spring algorithm anyway.. very few I'd imagine..most people are getting it for the huge ambient or experimental sounds..not boring Spring..it's just a little addition.. it's the King..
Hi! Really depends what you're looking for. The Strymon are very easy to tweak, but you don't have the same possibilities you have with the mercury, where there are almost no limits of what you can do. If you don't need this to be true bypass in stereo, (buffered on the Mercury X) I would go for the Mercury X :)
The illumine is permanent on my pedalboard. It's a fantastic reverb and it doesn't mess with your core tone. The mercury X is so much more --- sound design, and endless opportunities.
Absolutely gorgeous sound! I have been wanting a Neunaber Illumine ( I have a WET v5 currently). I have never heard of the Meris company, but now I've changed my mind about the Illumine. Also, you have a gorgeous guitar! What color is it? Yellow Tiger? I have subscribed to your channel and look forward to viewing your content. I think you have a lot to teach me.
