Usually the first seasons are better than the following seasons in a show, but in this case the second season of White Lotus was much better than the first season. The characters are more interesting and complex, the cinematography is spectacular, the soundtrack, the suspense and the plot twists are much better than the first season. I want a third season.

Greg getting so upset with Tanya for bringing her assistant on vacation makes so much sense now. He and Quentin didn’t take Portia being there into account and so Jack, a gigolo, has been tasked with keeping Portia busy.
I think Portia is potentially at risk. I think Jack jumping out and scaring her was a nod to him being a nefarious character and Portia, feeling uneasy about the situation, tries to figure out how she can get back to Tanya. Jack, desperate not to mess up the plan because he’ll end up back in that ‘hole’ without Quentin’s support, does whatever he can to stop her…maybe attempts to kill her? I don’t think she will die though.

It did occur to me that the prenup may include a ‘cheating’ clause as just cheating isn’t a big deal these days in regards to divorces. The Tonya, Quentin and Greg story line mirrors the story of Madam Butterfly.
In Madam Butterfly, an American naval office marries a young Japanese wife then abandons her and then eventually returns with a new American wife to discover that the young Japanese wife was pregnant and has a young son. The Japanese wife and American wife meet and agree to give the son to the Americans to have him be raised in the US. The Japanese wife then commits suicide.
Quentin is madam butterfly, Tonya is the new American wife and Greg, the American cowboy is the naval officer who left. Quentin wants to rebuild a life with Greg in Sicily but will ultimately be betrayed by Greg or back out of killing Tonya and kill himself. This is foreshadowed when Greg has that morbid talk with Tonya about Death and Beauty.
Quentin, the Sicilian drug dealer packing a gun and Tonya are on an island near water. They have been partying with drugs so they are not in the right state of mind which will set the stage for something tragic to happen (like the finale of last season). The writers have been great and leaving bread crumbs throughout the series.

The story of the statue head in the room is also about a murdered adulterer, which implies the person killed by a jealous lover will be someone in a love triangle. But I think the couples are a red herring. Daphne discovered the body and would have recognized Cameron, Ethan or Harper. Seems like the body was someone she has not seen before. And in the first episode scene when she's talking to the women on the beach, it felt like she was setting a scene with those women about how she had an amazing time with her husband. Like she wanted them to give statements about how she was happy and didn't know her husband was dead. Could she have planned it all with Lucia and decided to be away to see if her husband would cheat so she'd know if she'd go ahead with the plan?

The parallels could be entirely coincidental but they are so many and fit so well that I feel like I should give you all a SPOILER warning before sharing her story:
Lucia was an early christian from Syracuse, a city just south of where this season is set. Her mother's name was Eutychia, a greek name. Greco. When she refused to make a sacrifice to the emperor's image she was condemned to work in a brothel. When soldiers came to take her away they were unable to move her, even with a team of oxen, so they stabbed her to death. She is the patron saint of, among others, repentant sex workers. Interesting theory. I love that Mike White could either have hidden the clue in the tattoo or simply that the expression 'cowabunga' reflects Jack's child-like mentality. Jack said Quentin was coming into some money and was going to help out his friends. The way Quentin told the story about the Wyoming cowboy, though, it sounded like it was a mostly one-sided relationship. Why would Greg give any of the money to Quentin, then? Also, Tanya told Greg she'd get rid of the pre-nup if that was his problem, so why go through all this at all.
It seems to me that Quentin might try to blackmail Tanya.

I’m not sure how it will end but I think the main theme in this season is women being presented as vulnerable or ‘lesser than’ actually having the upper hand in all the story lines. I think in Ethan and harpers case we thought harper was begging for Ethan to care for her again but really she has always had the upper hand, wether she realises it or not, he’s losing his mind over her. Cameron and daphne, she’s well aware of what he does and she seems to act dumb for the sake of the rich lifestyle, I think she really loves her independence and likes that he’s distracted by other women because it means she can get on with her life and have it all paid for her, she also has affairs but doesn’t have to work. Tanya might seem abit dim but she has the money and I think there’s more to her than we know, they’re trying to steal from HER, despite how she’s presented she is far richer and has more status. Lucia is playing every man she encounters, she plays the helpless victim to albie as that will entice him.

Prediction: Lucia sincerely likes Albie and sees that in a relationship with him she could achieve her dream of owning her own store and have a nice life of wealth in L.A. with a smoking hot, sweet, highly educated and rich young guy. She's had her share of creepy customer guys like Cameron. She, unlike Portia, can truly appreciate Albie vs seek emotionally unavailable but exciting guys.
Lucia knows that she has to overcome the obstacle that she was Dominic's escort. She and Mia used Bert's room so she knows Bert knows the truth.
The best way to do that is for her to convince all 3 guys she is being forced to work as a prostitute by her pimp. It is a natural instinct in most men to want to "rescue" the abused pretty woman "victim." Even Bert got out of the car to try to stop her! Despite the previous conversations they had about generational differences in male attitudes, all 3 generations jumped to defend and "save" Lucia.
I bet Alessio is a friend of Lucia's and as a favor agreed to help her out by pretending to be her stalker pimp. We never once saw Lucia having a pimp that I recall. She seemed to be arranging her own clients. This would be a very smart way to handle Bert & Dominic objecting to her relationship with Albie. They'd likely agree to keep her secret due to her embarrassment and shame at being "forced" to prostitute herself. And Dominic wouldn't want Albie or anyone to know he hired her.
They may not have made the connection with Italian relatives but they can return home feeling good about rescuing a beautiful young Italian woman from forced prostitution, a woman Albie clearly is falling in love with. Win - win - win all around!
If this ends up being true I hope no one dies unintentionally as a result - such as one of the 3 DiGrasso guys physically approaching Allessio. In Episode 1 Rocco told Valentina there was 1 drowned guest of the hotel and "a few other dead guests found" - ostensibly not in the water.
Dominic added Lucia and Mia to his abd Bert's room so they would be considered guests of the hotel. I love both of these characters and hope they don't end up dead! The "law of unintended consequences" was a theme in S1 and may be one in S2, as well.

Greg also has to make a reappearance. By that logic, I predict both Greg and Cameron end up in the water. Giuseppe also has to come back and I'd love to see him be the third body -- leaving Mia to play to her heart's content at the hotel and her ironic final song brings down the curtain.
