Thanks for the video man. I was wondering how come you had skipped on the m40x, since everybody’s saying they’re the flattest sounding of all the mx range ?

btw, i think i know the reason why the small wires frayed on you. I got me and my brother a pair of M30Xs. His wires also broke, mine didnt. The only difference ? He would fold his headphones every time he got up from the desk not knowing you're only supposed to do that when travelling. go to the toilet ? fold em. Go drink water? fold em. i ended up just using wires from an old pair of headphones and ran them on the outside. looks janky and all but works.
Also, its known fact that M50Xs are more bass heavy while the 40s are more balanced. People love the 50s and recommend them cuz they offer a better listening experience.

Better listening for an end user yes. But not for someone who is mixing and editing. Also I never folded these. They were studio monitors so they stayed plugged in and on my desk at all times.

Another tip is to understand your headphone so what I do is I personally use the presonus hd10s but is to reference other music to hear how they sound so you’ll try to achieve similar results in your music which will help when producing mixing ect.

I'm glad I watched this. I have the same problem with the wire. Don't know why they can't find a design solution to this common problem. I think I'll take a shot at repairing it myself. Any recommendations or tips on doing this? Thanks.

The M50x was muddy bass. Glad I got the 30x. Super clean and crisp.

If they swap the cable for a better one, change the leather for those one you got...
They will probably rebrand them and sell them for twice the price.
No company dares to make the perfect head-set for cheap.

50 has more bass frequencies than 40 but its not that noticeable from what ive been seeing

i have athm50x and the cheaper presonus hd-9. They're almost identical by appearance but i prefer the Presonus transparency.

I have the m30x but I only use them for listening in the recording booth. I use the akg k240 for mixing. They are very flat

The truth : M50x are for listening music. Absolutely not for monitoring.
The problem is it sell like a monitoring headphone

There is another studio headphone to avoid is the person is hd7 probably the worst headphones in the world.
However there hd10bt are fine and flat but the hd7 they make are awful.

Hmm sorry, but nonsense. Enough tests have proven that the bass 'boost' of the M50X is very minimal. The M30X are junk in comparison. Check the reference curves. I guess the other 'pro' reviewers are indeed more pro than you.
