    Nice video! Häagen-Dazs is also a made up name. The guy wanted his ice cream brand to be associated with German sweets so he made it up but it was actually created in New York lol.

    Just one correction here for the sake of knowledge and accuracy and whomever is interested in the value of knowing exact information, words and using them accordingly: "Terre" as she spelled it is the French word for "Earth" or "ground", which is derived from the latin word "Terra" which means "land, soil, ground, Earth". "Extra" used as a prefix comes from latin for "outside" or "beyond".
    Thus: ExtraTerrestrial means "Outside of Earth"; "Beyond Earth".

    I love your videos!! Thank you for sharing your wisdom.
    I'm not sure if it's only me, but the pop up sound you use in your videos is louder than your speaking voice and hurts my ears. :/
    Amazing work! Looking forward to learning all I can!!

    Thanks for this great video! I was struggling with name ideas for a while, but now I’m closer than ever :) What’s your opinion on using the brand owner’s native language for the name? Even if it’s a very unpopular language?

      @LizMarieStrategy  3 года назад +2

      Hi! So sorry for the delayed response! If it's the brand owner's native language, I think it's an awesome way to tie in the true origin story and culture behind the company--plus it can really stand out. It gets tricky when people start taking from languages they have no tie to!

    I remember when the kimono thing happened, and just want to weigh in and say that else where in the world, we were all wondering what the problem is. The idea that using a word or warning an item from another culture is bad or wrong, appears to be very much a US thing. Not saying you should do it. just thought people may find it an interesting cultural difference.

      I thought the same too
      No one would have a problem with it here, US history is probably why it’s so controversial

    Very informative content, but the overt sexism and racism at the beginning is a bit much.
