- The new HTC Wildfire S is a refresh of the original Wildfire. It has the same 3.2" HVGA 480x320 display, and packs a 600MHz CPU with 512MB of RAM and ROM. After spending some time with the device, we think it's just your typical, low-end, budget Android smartphone from HTC.
Apart from the fact that we've spotted the device in an early HTC ad, there's nothing realy huge to it, especially if we talk about the 600MHz processor. Even so, it seems to operate rather well, fluid experience, good build quality and there will be several colors available so everyone might find the one appealing to him or her. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the new Sense which should simplify the experience but, as we said, it's just your typical Wildfire Gingerbread edition.

I love how the wildfire S is in the center of the screen the whole video.
Basically with this htc wildfire you are getting the same phone except that the major problem which is the low resolution screen has been fixed. No major change so they should still charge you the same price for it because this is by no means a worthwhile upgrade.
@Dade2tm it does, android 2.3 (gingerbread)
@98westley yes, tts a 3g phone and upgradable to android 3.0
@MVC7CVM you're right
It looks a lot beter now they've pumped the resolution, good decision.
and I was so happy when I got my HTC Wildfire 2 months ago ... "sigh"
@stefan0zzic it has live wallpaper in the vid
Sweet !
With dual cores coming out the standard on phones should be no less than a 1GHz processor.
@AndroidAdvocate I think you missed the part when he said "it's a mid-range budget device" @ 0:07 but who can concentrate that long right?...
@farestabs yea I heard him but I was saying enough of the phones under 1GHz
@MVC7CVM Desire Z does that^^ although it has 3.7" screen
@AshezDee buy htc windfire s. it has 320x480 resolution & 720p Hd video recording.
@ManTheFace thats wrong i got the Legend its almost the same and 600mhz are really enough
so....i biuth a brand new htc wildfire s.....i just unpacked it but it wont start.....how much should i wait to charge it?
everyone around him is busy reviewing the phone
WHATS THE RESOLUTION ON THIS ANYONE?
GET the wildfire S. Hero's processor is a very slow 528mhz.
If it's out in the UK by May i'll probably get one for my birthday. How much is it going to be sold for?
so the new wildfire doenst have the button at the bottom
how is baterry life with normal use ( 30 min of talk, maybe little on internet, listening to music)? i heard battery life sucks :(
@sitadriver why to pay more for something that the smartphone gives me.The only thing i have to do is i HAVE to get a pocket for my (new)phone because i don't want the screen to go mad after 2 years(my lg arena)
this the lg optimus black or the samsung galaxy ace. ?
@rantasta The Wildfire has no 3D accelerator.
HTC Wildfire S or LG P500 Optimus One in terms of value for money? Optimus One is cheaper.
anybody knows HOW to DISABLE vibration "features" COMPLETELY ? (without root)
even with all options to off - it vibrates when e.g. deleting widgets or making an outgoing ?! call.
and HTC calls this a "feature"....
I've been seriously considering a HTC, I want to be able to develop freely and the iDevices are soo restrictive. What are these phones like to develop on?
@shrikantbhoj it wont be upgradeable to 3.0
Witch is better samsung galaxy ace or htc wildfire s?
@margg5 hmm that's where I saw it too. But I'm 99% sure that this is wrong. Gsm arena usually make mistakes. If anything, the new wildfire should have 16m due to the higher resolution, but they'll be the same :) such a stupid idea putting 320 x 240 on a touchscreen 2.8 inch!!
@codmwlover then you should get a cellphone alsongside a smartphone...
Original Wildfire is QVGA, not HVGA.
@AjikeAjayi The CPU is faster and the screen is better. It also looks better imo.
@stefan0zzic no it dosent that is a standard wallpaper from sense
i'm goin to get this fone but people are saying the wildfire is better :/ which one should i get? which one do you think is better
#Someone Anyone plz reply
@margg5 is that really true? i thought that was just a mistake!
@jameslove888 i want to play som games on the wildfire. almost all the games is lagging as hell
@jdhall303 i would definetly go with the desire because it is a better phone and it is cheaper and u get the same stuff
@gsextreme27 alright sorry. dont cry
actually.. the wildfire is bigger by a little bit than the wildfire s :)
@AshezDee HTC Wildfire S
@jameslove888 im pissed off, all i want is 600mhz . fuck this!
@HenRIP1234 HTC Wildfire trust me
ANIMATED CLOCK WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUU
LG Optimus black. Ace lags. wildfire S has 600mhz, LG optimus has 800.
seriously!! i just fucking bought my htc wildfire now they are saying that it will come a new one whit 600 mhz instead of 528 mhz!! they should fix all the old ones
is it good if i am making 100 phone calls a day?
is this good phone
getting this. glad i didnt get the wildfire. dirty resolution screen
You could recorded the phone a little, not that table and that bottle of water.
htc wildfire looks much better....:DD
@girlschannel1 buying 2 phones and an ipod touch............ FAIL
i don`t like the new htc models
@urmumzfat i wont get a new phone for atleast 2 years
wow this camera person is bad!
LOL
this is basicly an HTC wildfire without the optical track pad...Its bullshit! Dont buy it..
HTC aren't as good as they used to be. Too many crappy phones.
