My cat Jasper used to come running to the front door meowing his head off every day when I got home from school. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss him, even though it’s been six years since he passed and I don’t live with my parents anymore. I just wish I could come home to him.

I live in an apartment building and I can hear my cat meowing from the bottom of the steps. She's always waiting for me to get home and it's my favorite part of the day.

everyone in my class was saying they hate cats, I wanted to kill them .-.
Well My sister has had multiple cats for 20 years and in that time she's lost 4 young under 2 year old cats from being run over by car. Her oldest cat Simba 12 years old some how broke his back and dragged him self home to then be taken to the vet to be put down. The cats were always in fights and covered with scars. Finnally main reason some people hate cast is that they kill hundreds of rare small lizards and slow warms. My sister's cats wiped them out.

Years ago i had a Manx named Shithead, a name she earned it wasn't given, that met me at the door everytime i left for more than an hour.
If i didn't pick her up within 5 minutes she would climb me like a tree. After i picked her up or she climbed up she demanded my undivided attention. The she would lay herself around my neck, perfectly balanced so i could move and she wouldn't fall off. This went on for about half an hour then she followed me everywhere.
She was the most lovable, loyal and smartest cat I've ever met. Damn i miss her.
How did she earn the name
Her name is shi-thead
@Bruno Lima Shithead was a beautiful orange/ginger Manx who i got from a friend who couldn't find a home for her because, well let's just say she was was high strung. She was full of energy, loyalty, and love. When we went to our friends house when she was about 4 weeks old if she was awake she was into something. I told him if he couldn't find her a home I'd take her, let's face it, who doesn't want a cat especially a kitten that doesn't like to play.
When they dropped her off we checked her out and she was covered with fleas and a little dirty. So first thing done was a bath. We took our time and played while bathing and she actually acquired an affinity for water. She loved it, when I'd go to the bathroom she'd come in and get in the tub and i had to turn the water on for her to play. I think she watched about 200 toilet flushes just to see it move. The hardest part of bathing her was keeping her away from the faucet. We'd lather her up and she'd walk under the faucet herself. Although she didn't like a blow dryer.
After the bath she spent a couple hours inspecting her new home then a nap. Later i was sitting in my chair and had a table with a lamp on it. She was sitting on the arm and a moth flew into it. She started watching and you could see her priming those back feet for a jump. I looked at my wife and said we're gonna lose a lamp soon. I had enuff time to look back and see this kitten launch herself with all 4 paws complete with claws and the lamp hit the floor and she did her best to get that moth.
Her original name was Jones because she looked a lot like the cat that Ripley had in the Alien movies. Actually in the second movie she called Jones a Shithead. She got into so much trouble when it got quiet we'd say "what are you doing now you little Shithead". So we called her that so much she started answering to it. So it just stuck. She didn't know kitty kitty or Jones, she would only answer to Shithead.
If i tried to list 3/4 of the things she did I'd run out of characters. One thing though, i ran a planing mill, that's where you take rough lumber and make smooth boards out of it. The only day i got to sleep in was Sunday. Shithead was used to being fed by no later than 6:30 am, she was about a year old then, after a couple jumps on the bed i didn't wake up. You know how cats like to knock things from shelves, the night before i had sat a glass of water on the headboard, she gets on the headboard and knocks the glass off. What hits me 1st is the water which brings me wide awake. Then as i started to sit up the glass which luckily was plastic hits me in the head. At this point my wife awakens enuff to see me sit up and get him so she's laughing her ass off I'm baffled, she's laughing and all i see is an orange streak running out of the room. I stand up my pillow and bed are wet and i look over and see this cute little orange face peeking around the door like "are you up and can i eat now"? Naturally you can't be too mad at such a plea. So since my bed was wet i got up, fed her, and went back to sleep on the couch.
Another part of her personality was how she played. When she was younger she only had on gear, HIGH. Her and her brother (Hozer) would wreck the house. They had the same parents but were from different litters. After she got off my shoulder and we ate dinner it was play time. She learned to fetch and her favorite toy was a milk ring. She'd beat them under the stove and I'd get on the floor with a yardstick and knock them out and she'd chase. We played many games of get the rings.
On of our more dangerous games involved me laying on the floor watching tv or whatever and she would walk by staring at me, you've seen the look, they walk by giving you the skunk eye with their head lowered like you're some kind of prey or enemy. I would stare into her eyes and kind of raise off the floor towards her, she would turn sideways, puff up frizzing her tail and arching her back then come dancing sideways at me. Until she got to me then she would grab my arm with her claws and teeth. Not hard enuff to draw blood or actually hurt but to get control.
The best was when she was in the kitchen and i was in the living room, she puffed came at me sideways and put a paw on each cheek with just enuff claw i could feel it and opened her mouth and put the end of my nose between her fangs, growling and staring me right in the eyes like "move and you die human". My wife busted out laughing, i grabbed her by the sides and flipped her on her back then grabbed her belly and let her wriggle free then i chased her and she hid under the bed. We played this game quite a few times. I'd lay on the bed and she'd hide under it. She'd play coy and stick a paw out or her tail, I'd grab it and she would go under the bed and jump on top so we could rassle and hiss.
This may sound too rough or mistreatment of my cat but i never hurt her one time, never made her "mad" as some would call it. It's just how we played every day. If she didn't want to play we'd keep an eye on her to make sure she was feeling okay.
We played like this every day until i got hurt and didn't come home for 14 weeks. After that i no longer had the ability to chase her or run from her. Our play session degraded into the occasional tickle belly session or many games of fetch but she grew tired of it because i couldn't get on the floor and dig them out.
Due to my injuries at work we never got to play like that again and she became a fixture on my lap. She was always there to comfort me when i was down and slept by my side or on the shelf in the headboard above my head. I kinda wondered if she slept there to be on gaurd.
She was also a great judge of character. I've had my share of shady friends and visitors. If she didn't like or trust you, you knew it. She wouldn't come near you, if you TRIED to pick her up you took what she gave you. I've told a few people who thought it's just a cat and my response is "i like cats more than i like most people". If you hurt my cat you got to deal with me. When i wore a younger mans clothes i was 6' 2", weighed 226 and could run a 4.9 forty.
I could spend hours here telling you stories of the adventures of the mighty Shithead but most people will either think I'm making it up or at the very least embellishing the truth.
The fact is i loved Shithead and Hozer like they were family. In a way they !were. My relatives told me to get rid of her when my daughter was born. We brought her home and in about a half hour she had marked and claimed her as her own. When my daughter cried Shithead was 1st at her crib supervising every move.
Maybe later I'll tell the story of how Shithead locked us out of the house with my daughter in her crib. I had to break into my own house.
But i gotta go. I loved Shithead and Hozer and miss them to this day. She was the bestest most loyal and lovable cat I've ever been owned by.
Thanks for listening and reading i enjoy talking about my cats. I may be man with one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel but iove my family which includes fuzzy kids.

Damn. The cat at :20 reminds me so much of my dearly departed, little friend. I can't tell you how many times my neighbors would tell me that they would see him come out to wait for me whenever I was coming home, regardless of the time of day. I guess he knew the sound of my car from several blocks away. When I got home, he would roll and vocalize until I patted his belly, scratched his head and rubbed his chin. Then he'd get up and do the head butting thing, and the chin and face marking on my legs, and follow me to the door. He was such a good, little friend, such a happy cat, and he had a really good life, so I take comfort in that. But, damn, I sure do miss him at times.

110% agree. I feel just sad every time I see an outdoor cat. We've lost 2 very precious kitties to a car and likely a dog... heartbreaking. Never again! I'm greatful the "rescue/stray" my mom and I took care of, that dad would not let us bring in, the family that took him in lost a kitten to a dog due to letting it out, so even though this already was an adult tom cat that managed to live outside for a while, they will only allow him to be an indoor cat now; so the kids don't have to go through another loss. Apparently they love that kitty to death, I'm greatdul, he is the most affection cat ive ever come across.
And they are threatening to local biodiversity. They kill birds and some of these bird species are in danger. KEEP. YOUR. CAT. INDOORS. Be a responsible cat parent.

@@damionchamp72 It's very dangerous for the cat, it can get killed by a car, a dog, a wild animal, another cat in a fight, poisoned, catch some illness, get evicted by mean people. If you care about your cat, don't shorten it's lifespan by a decade. Letting it outside unsupervised does that.
In my experience,cats,dogs and even birds greet you when you come home, how beautiful is that, certainly more adoring then some people even!
And they say cats can't be loving like a dog. It depends on the animal seriously if raised right with massive amounts of love the pet would be more than happy to see their owner. While dogs are more expressive and have more bundles of energy than a cat, that's not to say that cats don't show their love for them; just because they don't wag their tails or jump high doesn't mean they don't like their owner. They are just expressive in their own quiet way.

i block ads on RUclips [CFAMediaV7] well for me I like dogs, but I love cats, I rarely ever get to see lone, pet cats. Alot of dogs, but I don't need someone to love me this much, I don't need someone to protect me, I don't need any trouble. My cat needs me, she purrs because she's happy, she meows because she needs me, she's lonely without her long gone cat friend and I'm there to fill that hole. I love her to much and I can't risk losing another pet.

My cat Katie Purry says goodbye in the morning and hello when I come home every day from work. At the end of the day we are both so happy to see one another. BTW, I pulled Katie out of a dumpster when her eyes werent even opened yet. 2 years and counting we've loved one another. Beautiful animals and yes, very loving and affectionate.

Normally when I get home she won't be quiet until I pick her up give her nose a kiss and tell her she pretty! 90% of time when I ask for a kiss I do get a nose lick! This is so sweet. Cats totally miss their humans while they're away. My friend and his girlfriend would let me stop by to play with their cat Sandy when I was feeling down. One time they were out of the apartment and I was petting Sandy. She heard a car door, then perked up and walked towards the front door. I said, "Sandy, that could be anyone," but it was her humans returning. She could recognize the sound of their particular car.

It's a sign of trust if your cat exposes its belly! He may also want to play, or maybe even want a belly rub. That last one's pretty rare though.
