There is one place you provide the wrong information, section: previous passport details, form input file number. You mention that it is the ARN Number. It is not an ARN number. It’s best to have the current US address as your primary address. But if you choose so make sure the senders address on the VFS payment and the physical packet have your US address so it’s delivered to the right place

If you are getting this message means that response is still awaited, and this may take up to 5 hours . If you don’t get any email notification in 5 hours, then retrieve your application and complete the payment process again.''
One quick Note: Ensure you have the Passport online has the first page , all the data if pre filled ( Where you attach your photo). I had faced with being blank when downloaded from Chrome. Using Safari solved the issue in my case.

In VFS offered Services, it shows FEDEX to me and selected that and made the payment. In checklist, fee payment option shows fedex prepaid label is not accepted. I am confused now , can I still send the package to FEDEX? Please help

Where you live right now in USA will be that address to be printed and not india address on renewed passport as it’s done outside india and is tied to the respective Indian embassy/Mission/Consulate.

Hello there, whatever bank statement that your bank provides or via online portal should suffice. Also to be sure, email the VFS email for queries if needed.
Does a minor addition to the indian address like Building B to Building 5B considered an address change, the address on my old passport did not cover building number in it.
Please once confirm with the Embassy or VFS because. If police vérification needs to be done. They won’t be able to get the the right address if there was a change. Hope this is helpful

I am planning to go in person and submit the application, is it still an option? 2. If yes, do I need to pay the $90+ fee online or can I pay it in person at the VFS Global center? (because, when filling the details for paying fees, it is by default showing POSTAL and not in person.
If Covid restrictions have been curbed down, VFS site will mention it. Will check it out. If it’s not showing in person option. That means they don’t do it in person option. Hope this helps.

My passport is expiring in September 2024, so I have started my renewal process, while registering in the "Passport Seva at Indian Embassies and Consulates" Portal. I chose the "Embassy/Consulate" as "USA-Atlanta". I started this process when I was in Nashville/Tennessee. Due to my Job, I moved to New Jersey and I applied for a new Driving License in New Jersey state, so I need to change the location to "USA- New York". So I don't find the option to change the location to "USA- New York" after registering in the portal with "USA-Atlanta". Can you please help me out in changing the location to "USA- New York"???

While adding new customer details on the VFSglobal website, it asks for first name, middle name, and last name separately. But on the passport, the given name field has first and middle name. So my question is whether the First name on VFSglobal website will be the given name that is on passport? In that case the middle name field will remain blank. You get those as paper labels that you take to FedEx and they will put it in plastic sleeve for you

The VFS ADULT Checklist asks for two photos, size 2" x 2" - one for govt. form, the other for Change of Appearance affidavit. However, the govt. form asks for photo size 4.5 cm x 3.5 cm. Which guideline should i follow? I am applying for Normal passport re-issue this week. Thanks in advance. Regards.
Standard photo size is 2 by 2 passport photo for all applications

Hello there, whatever bank statement that your bank provides or via online portal should suffice. Also to be sure, email the VFS email for queries if needed.
Does a minor addition to the indian address like Building B to Building 5B considered an address change, the address on my old passport did not cover building number in it.
Please once confirm with the Embassy or VFS because. If police vérification needs to be done. They won’t be able to get the the right address if there was a change. Hope this is helpful

1. I am planning to go in person and submit the application, is it still an option?
2. If yes, do I need to pay the $90+ fee online or can I pay it in person at the VFS Global center? (because, when filling the details for paying fees, it is by default showing POSTAL and not in person.
If Covid restrictions have been curbed down, VFS site will mention it. Will check it out. If it’s not showing in person option. That means they don’t do it in person option. Hope this helps.

Hi, I had one question. There is a spelling error for my father's name in my old passport. If I try to get it changed here in my new passport, should I attach the additional documents such as self attested copy of his correct name spelling to my application?
honestly if its a minuscule change, just enter the right spelling if submitting application first time. No need to supporting documents for that.
What if I send my application to Washington DC instead to New York. Can I make change after the payment for level?

Depends on what you want on your passport. Most likely they will print current residential address on you last page.
My passport is expiring in September 2024, so I have started my renewal process, while registering in the "Passport Seva at Indian Embassies and Consulates" Portal.
I chose the "Embassy/Consulate" as "USA-Atlanta". I started this process when I was in Nashville/Tennessee.
Due to my Job, I moved to New Jersey and I applied for a new Driving License in New Jersey state, so I need to change the location to "USA- New York".
So I don't find the option to change the location to "USA- New York" after registering in the portal with "USA-Atlanta".
Can you please help me out in changing the location to "USA- New York"???
You can just restart a new application and ignore the old one if you haven’t made the payment
Thank you for this step by step video. It cleared a lot of doubts. However, I still have a query. While adding new customer details on the VFSglobal website, it asks for first name, middle name, and last name separately. But on the passport, the given name field has first and middle name. So my question is whether the First name on VFSglobal website will be the given name that is on passport? In that case the middle name field will remain blank. Or do we just put first name in the first name field and middle name in middle name field?
Either should work as VFS is only for payment process.

Hello, I applied for a passport renewal by mail, and I paid all of the payments, including the courier charges. My issue is that they only print one courier label form to send the passport to the embassy; what about the return address label, and how can they give my passport to me without a return label?
They will take care of that as they have ability to print return label as you have paid for it. 🙏🏼

I have one question regarding Affixing the photograph on Government Form. The photo that I have is 2 inch x 2 inch as per the requirement. When I took the printout of the Passport Application form, the size of the box where we glue the photo is quite small compared to actual Photo. Is it fine ? Can I go ahead and glue the form and send the application for renewal?
Just send 2 photos (original) along with the form. Don’t worry about the digital photo that got generated.
