As an old veteran of warhammer fantasy 6th through 8th edition, I will give a bit of background on how the units you highlight on this channel generally performed on tabletop and how much their video game usage and rules align with what they did on tabletop. In the case of RoR, who mostly do not exist in the tabletop, I will instead play around with the idea of how their rules would be translated into tabletop and if it would be worth it.
Black Knights in tabletop are a very useful unit. In addition to all the advantages to being a Necromantic Undead brings, they ignore terrain while moving, which is big for cavalry. In addition they are decent at taking damage and dish it out well as well, while being easily buffed through the great Vampire magic. Thus, seeing Black Knights in any given Vampire army is hardly a surprise.
Now adding Regeneration to that for a 40% price increase is (which would, rounding up, increase their costs from 26 to 33) a huge deal. Regen is one of the best rules to have in tabletop and having it on a unit that is already both powerful and hard to get rid of, can make it a nightmare (hah!) for most enemies.
While i think that the high price would prevent them from being included in every army composition, most could make use of them and thus, we would see this RoR in tabletop quite often.

Regeneration for the win, then. Thanks again~~

This is what I look for when I'm picking RoRs to put in my main army. They aren't the best around but for their teir, they are the linchpin of a cav strategy in the early and mid game. Usually you need 2 or 3 to get the most out of shock cav to spread the damage they take in the short engagements, but you can make do with just this lad as your cav of choice to free up room for other units. More Vargheists, a corpse cart, a longer front line, an extra hero, it does what black knights do but more reliably.

      Interesting. Thanks for the comment.

Regen on them makes them one of the finest cycle charge units in the game.

I haven't actually used them much, so I'm counting on testimonials :)

Regeneration works better with hit and run units, but I agree with the previous comment that Perfect Vigor would be a nice attribute for Shock Cavalry. It seems that this unit needs something else to truly make it stand out from the regular version.

Yes I figured you'd say that ^_^ and as much as regeneration benefits a cavalry unit "more", it's not an unfair statement at all. This is an example of an early wave RoR.

Perfect vigor would have been the crown but regen, rank 9 and being a t3 unit zo kust recruit instantly are enough good points for me. I tend to go for the regular sword version but doing chsrges, recovering hp and stamina snd than going in again looks fun. I never had this ror tbh
Imagine having a secondary army with zombies, ghuls, and a corpse cart. 1-2 fast unit like this ror just help out so much

You have the option of running back to the corpse cart for vigor replenishment too.

I mean, this was from all the way back in WH1. Of course by today's standards it's gonna look lazy and outdated. But back then, regeneration wasn't terribly common.

Oh it's still good, just because it's hard to go wrong with serious shock cav and Regeneration. Just takes some tender loving care to push it even higher.
