      I remember well wanting to "collect them all". I came pretty close, but am missing a few I think. I probably bought my last figure in 1984. At that point I was 13, and wasn't playing with toys anymore.

    • @Miakel

      My dad collected them in the 80s 90s he got them all except Blue Snaggletooth. But that set was never released where we are. So technically got every figure available. The last figure he needed was R2D2 popup lightsaber, I remember him getting it at a vintage toy fair, $50. Seems like a bargain now But it was the most expensive single star wars item he ever bought

    When I was a kid, I received these toys every birthday and christmas. In the end, I had most of them. The collection came to over 15 large moving boxes. After growing up and dealing with real life issues, I had to move into a small 2 bedroom place with a roommate and found I had no place to store my collection. I ended up donating everything to Children's Hospital of Orange County. Sometimes, I want to kick myself for doing that. Other times, I hope they brought as much happiness to those kids like they did for me.

    The original 12 Kenner Star Wars figures where great character choices that allowed playtime to be a joy. Followed up with a great Boba Fett promotion just made this an exciting time to be a kid. I was very lucky to be of the right age to enjoy the Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back lines. Unfortunately the Jedi Line was disappointing and I gravitated to G.I. Joe ARAH. This was a thoughtful overview of Kenner's Star Wars toys and your love of these toys shows in this videos quality. Thanks for your hard work and inspiration to produce better quality videos.

    Looking back at how young the toy industry was, I'm a little surprised the C-3p0 had such excellent metallic paint.

    • @ultra-vivi
      @ultra-vivi 3 года назад +1

      This is a process called Vacuum Metallization. It’s actually not paint!
      In my layman’s understanding I believe that actual metal molecules are applied onto the figure by exposing them both to an extreme vacuum. The gold (or silver or whatever) adheres to the surface.
      This is the process used to chrome lots of stuff.

    I got the Early Bird for Christmas when I was 10 years old. One figure I longed for was a Rebel Fleet Trooper that we never got. The first battle we saw was the Stormtroopers vs the Rebel Fleet troopers. A very exciting scene for a 10 year old me. I was never able to play out that battle, unless I used the Death squad commander as Rebel Fleet troopers.

      In fact, they don’t really make Star Wars action figures anymore accept for the vintage collection. The vintage collection is okay but they are way too articulated

      Not necessarily, if they stuck with the 8/12" design. The action figure renaissance as we know it might never have happened.

      Nope. He's in there. There were actually 2 versions of Sniivians in the Cantina in ANH. The same were used in the Holiday special. However, the photo used on the package for the Snaggletooth, was taken during the shooting of the special.

      My only regret with the Modern figures is they seem so slow to reach stores these days Wave 4 Rogue One figures look ace but they have been delayed again real shame :(. Keep up the great work.
