Quick answer to the title's question: Lego
That is correct. People ignore lego games but they are great and they are usually based off movies.
Another good answer is GTA mods like I say GTA V makes the best Thor video game.
Then we need a LEGO Avengers Infinity War/Endgame
for real though
T.F.Evan Yeah idk why, and I mean LEGO games are popular too, they sell a lot.
Lego sitting back watching this like "Huh?"
“Hey!”
Captain America Civil War not getting a fighting game tie-in was a real missed opportunity.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2
Contest of champions.

Why not a Marvel vs DC game ???
Killo8X MK vs DC happened bc both properties are owned by Warner

The Troll Killer yea lowkey it’s a good idea tho, but I feel like they will implement it so wrong.
That actually might be good. Never liked Sonic, the 3d ones. But loved the movie. It would be better than most of the crappy games

And LEGO tried to play it all off in a non-violent way 😂
You underestimate LEGOs ability to do death scenes. Look at LEGO Avengers Quicksilvers death. They'll do it like that. They've done it before.

The first time I found out that tie-in video games based on films were no longer a trend:
Is when no one considered on developing battle royale-genre titles based on The Hunger Games.
I had the same thought back then too, but I imagine the fact that the contestants were children was probably a tough sell.

I actually enjoyed Batman Begins on the PS2. Imo an underrated title before the time of the Arkhamverse.
the 2017 version of Battlefront II does have some iconic battles from the SW movies.
The only problem is that they don't recreate the movies themselves in game form thus making BF2 not a movie-tie in game.
Movie games were among my favourite games as a kid! Spider-Man, X-Men, Barnyard, Open Season, Kung Fu Panda, et cetera. I've been wondering what happened to movie games and I'm glad this video answered the question. I'm hoping movie games will make a comeback on modern game consoles. Don't want to deprive past, present, and future gamers the opportunity to relive their favourite movies.
I wonder if any of you guys have played any harry potter games. They litteraly were my childhood. Spider-man after that
I did, I played all of them
Helio Rider Ah those harry potter games were great. I loved that each game was a little more “advanced” than the one which came before it.
Played the GBC version of Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone, GBC and PC versions of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, GBA version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, DS version of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Xbox 360 version of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, DS version of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. I have also played the Lego Harry Potter games.

Is anyone else waiting for a Lego Avengers infinity war/Endgame?
Me too man But how would they call the game because Lego Marvel’s Avengers had both Marvel’s Avengers 1 and 2: Age of Ultron and they called the whole game Just: Marvel’s Avengers even though it has both 1 and 2. So how would they call the next game
@@LOMAZKO7 woah...never thought about it..maybe they should call it: Lego Marvel's Avengers:the infinity saga
Odd Ball I agree they should csll it Infinity Saga
@@LOMAZKO7 either they make a new game or make a completly new story for LEGO Avengers as a DLC for $60, which is what a new game costs on average.
But i prefer a new game.
And also how would they handle the deaths of

• Gamora
• 2018 Thanos
• Tony Stark
• Loki
• Dusting of all the heroes and villians
Like, how would they make it kid friendly, because i know these parents will get mad if they see a LEGO Character get his neck snapped or see blood come out of Black Widow/Gamora's heads after falling on Vormir
Back in the day of Sega Genesis, most of the good games were Movie based franchise, like Robocop vs terminator, The Demolition Man, Jurassic Park the lost world, and hella lot, they had the budget in that time.
It's technically not a tie-in game anymore, but Fast and Furious: Crossroads proved why they died.
They need to end this franchise on the next movie. Heck, it even got an animated series on Netflix (which THAT is also getting a game)
I remember back in the day I used to have Ice age, bolt, Up, and pretty much a game for each and every movie I knew, same goes for Game cube, I had The incredibles, Shrek (all of the games), etc, etc..They were amazing and looking back at them today, they are so much better than 90% of the games we have now!! gosh I miss it so much. ;u;
The lego games are some of the absolute best movie games!
Lego MCU needs to exist! I know they did one around 2015 for Ultron but with phase 3 done there is so much to cover from Ironman to Far From Home.
I can’t wait to see what the new Lego Star Wars will be like
Also I really want to see a new James Bond game, there is so much potential in that franchise given the nearly 60 years of cinema we have. 007 Legends should have been so much better, not a COD rip off, it’s such a good set up for a game
I even remember playing the 360 version of the 2011 thor movie
This video is so well done, and answered so many questions I’ve had for years (as a big fan of the Batman Begins game, I always wondered what happened to the Dark Knight). The LotR games were always great, as were most Star Wars games released over the years (Clone Wars is very underrated). Thanks for the research and content!
I remember beating Captain America: Super Solider while listening to Rammstein...as in it’s what helped me beat it
I used the germans to beat the Germans
I'm surprised that wwz wasn't mentioned since it came 6 year after the movie
Batman Begins the game awesome, one of my favorites as a kid. Probably one of the best Batman games before the Arkham series.

Massive entertainment is set to release its avatar game alongside Cameron s avatar 2 movie
I have my hopes up for that one
They had a long development time and the studio is supposed to be good
Its probably because development time back in the day was waaay shorter, these days it usually takes years, you just can't make a pretty well designed game in the time they make the movie, movie tie ins eventually felt cheap and clunky also unpolished, thats why they probably went for mobile games since alot of people just eat that stuff up like its nothing
My favorite movie games were TMNT and X-Men Origins Wolverine, I didn't mind Captain America Super Soldier tho
Well, Skyfall video game was also released but called: 007 Legends instead; where you play missions from: "Goldfinger", "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", "Moonraker", "Licensed to Kill", "Die Another Day", and "Skyfall" itself.

Oh man Probably the best Movie tie in game of all time
I think part of it is that in the latter half of the PS2/XBOX era it became trendy for liscenced games, particularly super hero games, to have their own identity and not be tied to films or shows. The success of games like Ultimate Spider-Man, X-Men Legends I & II, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 shifted the focus on super hero games to be more like the comics and have original stories. That's largely where games like Spider-Man Web of Shadows, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions games, Transformers Cybertron games, Telltale Batman games, Injustice games, and Batman Arkham games came into play. They made super hero games about telling original stories and bearing resemblance to the comics, and it paved the way for Spider-Man PS4. Even non super hero franchises took that approach with games like 007 Legends, which was not good, but it still tried to be it's own thing and not a crappy adaptation of Skyfall. Games like Injustice, Batman Arkham, and Spider-Man PS4 still included the movie or TV looks as alternate skins for the characters. Injustice even had Steven Amell voice Green Arrow for the Arrow skin.
When I was younger I really liked the amazing spider-man movie game

Many movie tie in games don't follow the plot of the movie. In the Super Starwars SNES series, Luke fights a sand pit monster for example and in Super Empire Strikes Back, Luke defeats Darth Vader.
@@rcarfang2 that's not what I was trying to say the reason I liked the game was because it didn't follow the movies plot because it was a bad movie.
having to name it after that movie was the worst thing that could have happened to that game. i feel like it would be more remembered today if it didn't need to be saddled with being unnecessarily tied to a movie it has very little to do with. not to mention the movie its named after is pretty universally hated so that doesn't help people wanting to check it out. wonder what this games legacy would be if they just called it Wolverine and made it a stand alone game

Most movie tie in games these days are Lego and Android/iOS titles. And we occasionally get a VR experience.
Honestly I feel the answer is instead of doing Movie Licensed, just do...licensed. The best part of Goldeneye was the multiplayer and that was just an afterthought. Scarface intentionally subverts the movie's plot and is a What if story? We've seen it with the Arkham Series and even now with Avengers. Just give the license of a franchise to a video game company and they can use the movie but aren't holden to it and can do their own rake on other characters. For example the licensed Spiderman movie games used tons of other Spider-Man villains before the movies did. The Video Games are an alternate continuity anyway so they can do anything they want with the story.
Do we really want movie tie ins back?
