Very entertaining. I don't know why they had to change the title. But something amusing I've worked out is Angel Street is an anagram of 'let gas enter'.
I think it may have something to do with money and production rights and the need to make your production your production. So Vincent Price was inspired by a play he saw in Los Angeles 'titled Five Chelsea Lane'. An adaption of Gaslight. So securing the rights & aiming for broadway whilst in Los Angeles he named it 'Angel Street'. LOL
