Considering how disheartened Vader was with Padme's death, maybe this was a way for him to die without making it seem like he did it intentionally. What if his plan was to go in all gung-ho and act like he was blindly going for Kenobi, when in reality he knew Obi-Wan wasn't there and that this would be a great way for him to go out.

If we ever get a Vader movie, I would love to see these issues addressed. I love Vader/Anakin because of the clone wars tv show, and books revolving around Vader. I would love it if the wider audience of Star Wars could see him in this light
This is why clones are badass. They can *save* even the mighty Darth Vader from what would otherwise be certain defeat. In combat, nothing trumps Kaminoan bred clones.
One on one, I will give you Fett and Sith. Of course, there are way more clones than there are Jangos or Sith Lords. You can hardly field an army of either of those.

With this being so early in Vader's life, with him still being so arrogant, immature and depressed, I would say that he was ready to die at this point. This was his way out, and if his death was to be prevented, then it wouldn't be by his own hand.

Moreso, they seemed spiteful or hateful of things that just weren't fair to him. You can even see that despite Vader being by the Emperor's side he always had an intent to overthrow him. I feel like this is why Vader became a Force Ghost at the end of RotJ, because despite being on the dark side his intentions were still pure of heart.
All sith appranteces seek to overthrow their masters, thats the main point in the rule of 2, this doesnt show his ''pure heart'' at all. killing your own master is basicly the final test for the apprentice. Simple as that.
You should consider contacting Matt Sloan to do the voice of Vader. He voiced Vader in the Force Unleashed. He has a show here on RUclips called Beer and Board Games, also Welcome to the Basement. Both very entertaining.
If appo didnt come, I would have expected another one of Vader being vader moments, using the power of the force to rebuild his arm, and making his suit work. Either that or an enormous amount of anger comes from vader and he starts telepathically choking the jedi.
I think Vader wanted to die. But when he was given an opportunity slaughter more Jedi, he took the chance Commander Appo gave him and fueled his will to live off of the Dark Side.

Its a tough call ive seen this Issue.Never came to mind what would of happened if his troops never came.Now remeber Vader here is not. Vader in a few years. He's still getting used to his suit he still learning the ways of the dark side. And I believe also he still has not gotten the information to do certain tweaks to his suit where I'm pretty sure it's Cannon where later city is allows him to modify his own suit. So my humbled opinion yes very was done.

I'm always saddened to see noble clone troopers forced to do the Empire's bidding because of the chip, but I have to admit, just like they did there missions during the Clone Wars, they did there Imperial missions with style!
He probably would've died, since it was in the beginning where he wasn't as experiencing adapting to a new fighting style and didn't have as much experience as he did by the end of the empire. If it was by the end of the empire he wouldn't had died and likely would've killed them all.
If I was that clone I'll say Lord Vader this Intel has been wiped let's get you back to base..... and bring a Jedi saber as proof if needed a fake story so Vader doesn't get punished.....

I just assumed Vader seeks obi wan because he sees the fight on mustifar as unfinished. Obi wan is his only real rival the man he failed to surpass

Appo was a great trooper. Especially during the Umbaran arc along side Fives, Jesse and Hardcase.
