I have a question that I hope someone in the comments or Geetsly can answer!? Did the comic book where Palpatine has the Insane collection of Kyber crystals where he's just chilling in the power cloud!? Don't know what to call it. While Vader is being pretty much destroyed!? Then not to far in the future in the movie. Vader just picked the emperor up and threw him into the energy core!? I'm so confused!
Legends Vader is so much more awesome, and has more depth to him. 'Anakin' within Vader wasn't as deeply buried as in Canon, with all their new weird stories and Exegol and everything else being shoved in that isn't always needed or even good. Legends remains superior. The depth it gives to so many characters is just better.
Appo was created before Rex and TCW, a lot of Appo’s lore is legends now. The 501st Legion was different before TCW, like I’m pretty sure in Legends Anakin never lead the 501st until Operation Knightfall/Order 66, I could be wrong thought. In classic Battlefront II campaign the 501st are group up with other Jedi and Clones as support. Nowadays Anakin is their general but pre 2008 I don’t think the 501st had a Jedi leading them. Again I could be wrong but I’ve never seen otherwise.
Hold on so all the 50st? All 10,000 of them, knew that Vader had once been Anakin Skywalker??? Because I thought that was a closely guarded secret he wanted kept???
No, it’s not a retcon, his first appearance is in ROTS (like Rex’s first appearance being TCW even though they retconned him into return of the Jedi) Appo is older than Rex and the Clone Wars show.
1:13 We need to see some of the 501st Legion Clones as Imperial Troopers or Tie Pilots in Tales of The Empire, Obi Wan Kenobi and Andor seasons 2-3(not Andor season 3)
any one notice on 2:18 there is a clone on the very left that has phase 1 armor on? not sure if it’s phase 1 but it doesn’t have to spike on the helmet.
The 501st’s story is so heartbreaking. After the first year of the clone wars those guys would follow Jedi Generals to Hell and back. Order 66 was a literally a mind rape, forcing them to kill Jedi that many of them considered brothers through the bond of combat. It’s really tragic when you think about it. I hate storm troopers but I’ll always love the clones. They’re victims of Palpatine just like the fallen Jedi, except they had to live with that dishonor.
When I first heard of appo in tcw, I thought he, the sergeant at the time, was a part of pong krells clone unit, thinking it was merged w the 501st during operation knightfall. I knew he was the one wounded by the padawan, though before I read dark lord the rise of Darth Vader, I thought that was the last we’d ever see of appo and was pleasantly surprised to find that wasn’t the case Fun dev fact: during the creation of sergeant Appo, Dave filoni made his entire character a reference to the character “Appa” from Dave filoni’s other big project, “Avatar: The Last Airbender.”
That’s false, Filoni did not creat Appo not was he created for TCW, he has existed since Revenge of the Sith, Filoni just added the arrow since Appo and Appa sound similar.

@@carlosminetti3685 no a legion has 20 commanders and 1 Senior commander. In the cw was no clone commander. Ahsoka doesn't count. So he is right Appo should be the commander since the whole time
@@Cengo458 I never said there was 20 commanders. But based on purely the cw, Ahsoka fills the commander rank of the 501st legion instead of a clone. Appo is also a sergeant by Umbara, so he wouldn’t have been a commander the entire time. I’m saying that it’s is likely (but not confirmed in any sources) that since Anakin divides the legion into 2-the 332nd battalion that goes to Mandalore led by Rex and Ahsoka and the remainder of the legion that accompanies him to coruscant-it is likely Anakin promoted a clone to be his number 2 for that battle since he doesn’t have Rex, which would have probably been Appo. Lmk if that makes sense.
@@carlosminetti3685 ahsoka is not the senior commander of the 501st
@@carlosminetti3685 and it makes no sense
Appo got promoted to a senior commander they leading a whole legion not for the division on coruscant and there was no Senior commander before. There should be a senior commander even bevore cuz a legion led by him and they are always clones. And padawans leading regiments not legions.
well Rex could work with Wolffe and Gregor in other universe. The Bad Batch (except crosshair) with Cid. Cody, Crys and Boil with Hondo, who clone was vader's right hand?
Ah yes. Appo. I remember him.
So... Does that mean the unfortunate Jedi that did Appo in get... "Special treatment/consideration" from Vader when he got his cyborg Sith fists an crimson blade on him or did Vader just treat him like a usual Jedi not liking them as a whole anyway
I still don't get it why in the movie Appo and Thire didn't get a distinctive look meanwhile Bacara, Neyo, Cody, Bly, and Gree did
I've never forgotten Appo.
Dark lord rise of Darth Vader is so underrated
I wonder how vader reacted to Rex's supposed death.
Love drawing these guys! so fun!🙂
I learned about him from you and now I'm writing a story about him, which is just the clone wars from his perspective.
Fun fact, the clone on the right of the thumbnail is named Vill, Appo’s replacement
Now that we know the Clones were inmediately replaced that means Appo is still alive in the new canon
Another reason why legends is superior in most aspects
@@pieterandjuanchronicles9849 bruh this is another reason of why legends has good and bad thing, they bring appo back just to kill him again
Clones in the galactic empire are epicc
I wonder what appo looks like at the end of the war. With the arrow or without? Did he get rid of it?
Got rid of it (he appears in ROTS) most likely so that he couldn’t be singled out as a commander or any other kind of officer by the Jedi during order 66.
@@kingcobra9726 I would like to think his helmet was damaged so he was wearing a spare.
Please tell alan from generation tech that he should make a video where the galactic republic with the jedi attack earth
Saw the title and was like gee how'd I guess Appo
5:05 when yo u said 'reorganized into' I heard Palpatine's voice )))
Bruh, you had me laughing real bad with that twi lek date 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I kinda feel bad for appo, he was a loyal trooper to the end.
Vader was always one of the boys
I can’t believe that people could forget about Appo
Vader and Appo are wholesome
I have a question that I hope someone in the comments or Geetsly can answer!? Did the comic book where Palpatine has the Insane collection of Kyber crystals where he's just chilling in the power cloud!? Don't know what to call it. While Vader is being pretty much destroyed!? Then not to far in the future in the movie. Vader just picked the emperor up and threw him into the energy core!? I'm so confused!
This is the most wholesome thing in Star Wars (that I’m aware of, that is)
This is actually the first I'm hearing about this Clone, I had always wondered if the 501st Ever Received a Commander like the rest of the Battalions
Appo sounds like Appa and he even has an ARROW on his head!
Even the Darkside has Bros.
I kind of understand because of episode 3, but it was impractical that the jedi used less and less armor?
I think it was so that they could be more agile. Less weight helped them do acrobatics.
@@PapaJarron A good theory. I really am not that versed in the lore to refute that 😕. Thank you for an answer. 😃
I like your lore videos!
How palpatine got Appo to execute order 66:
*Appo, yip yip*
The thing i dont get is how appo ranked up so fast while rex only ranked to commander because of the split
Appo is my favorite clone with cody and fox following closely behind
When geetsly forgets to take their meds and starts going on about a "date" 😔
Great video mqn, thanks for posting 🙌🏼
So this guy just disappeared during the clone wars show and then they retcon it at the very end?
No, it’s not a retcon, his first appearance is in ROTS (like Rex’s first appearance being TCW even though they retconned him into return of the Jedi) Appo is older than Rex and the Clone Wars show.
Fun fact: in a DLC starkiller leads the 501st
I can see Vader going ape shit on everyone who wasn't an imperial after losing Appo
“Before my twe lik date” got me
I *love* that book!
Can't believe u guys did manscape
Appo turning Organa away is pretty much just a military officer telling a politician this is a military matter, step off.
2:38 we all know what we think of ranks, yeah?
There is many officer in 501st legion :
Rex, Appo, commander Vill, commander Bow
Hey Geetsly's!
I think commander Appo is the avatar ⬇️
When I first heard of appo in tcw, I thought he, the sergeant at the time, was a part of pong krells clone unit, thinking it was merged w the 501st during operation knightfall. I knew he was the one wounded by the padawan, though before I read dark lord the rise of Darth Vader, I thought that was the last we’d ever see of appo and was pleasantly surprised to find that wasn’t the case
Fun dev fact: during the creation of sergeant Appo, Dave filoni made his entire character a reference to the character “Appa” from Dave filoni’s other big project, “Avatar: The Last Airbender.”
That’s false, Filoni did not creat Appo not was he created for TCW, he has existed since Revenge of the Sith, Filoni just added the arrow since Appo and Appa sound similar.
I've haven't truly forgotten appo.
Vader had more respect for the Senate than anyone else.
