How do you get the pre order armor? do you have to be in the burning shores DLC or what? I am asking cause I started a brand new full playthrough of this the other day, but I did pre order the DLC so I was curious.
The drillspikes are actually one of the best weapons for trip knockdown damage (aim for the legs). i don't fight Thunderjaws or Slaughterspines on ultrahard without them. with the new thrower i can now near guarantee a knockdown for breathing room, tie-down or precise component hits.
For me, the last argument is much better than the skykiller. Skykiller doesn't support drill spike ammo, which is why I abandoned the weapon long ago when I entered the ultra hard mode. All of the enemies, even the smallest ones have thousands of hp, and the exlosive spikes are super expensive and do very low dps. The Skykiller became quite useless. A combination is needed to buff up the damage. The last argument has built in knockdown power and 5 slots. With proper coils, you can knockdown ALL kinds of machines with only ONE hit. Then you can apply brittle, and do whatever you want to your prey. Besides, just in case anyone doesn't know it. You can get TWO elite critical coils per game through. Kill the machine, collect the coil and talk to Seyka. After the conversation, you can collect another one from the machine carcass.
you can get 2 of the critical weaves from looting the turret bot before talking to Sayka then looting it again. it might be patched soon so definitely get the extra quick
The Quen Deadeye outfit equipped with 2 elite weapon technique weaves (weapon stamina+, stamina regen, deep concentration) has become my main outfit since it gives me all 3 concentration skills, both weapon stamina skill, both stealth movement skills plus add'l damage and tear while in stealth.
i still miss the electricity blast slings from Zero Dawn, i was really hoping to get one in the DLC. Also miss the cannon/rail/throwers from Frozen wilds, or the awsome tearblaster. but an actual Zenith weapon is cool too, i guess.
I think the new game+ hunter bow is still better because of the passive skills it is. otherwise the emperor's whatever hunter bow is good if you haven' done ng+. same with the sharpshooter in this expansion. the sharpshooter in ng+ is better.
The Queen Marine is identical in damage resistances the difference is the the last two perks but Nora thunder is definitely better coming with the weapon stamina weave along with it
its more about opening up alternative playstyles with new perk combos. plus the new combo coils open up further options. it doesn't feel as restrictive than the limited base game sets. for example: the new stealth set is all about ranged stealth, while the winterweave was melee assasination oriented. so its almost a combo between the Utaru Winterweave and the Nora Thunder.
The Nora Lookout set is a sleeper and perfect for my style of play. I'm effectably immortal provided im dodging as best i can, the secret is second chance built in to the set so stumbled dodges or hits from offscreen are no longer a guaranteed sudden death. I like getting down and dirty point blank in a machine's face: which is usually lethal on ultrahard. I had a blast taking on a swarm of 4 apex water wings and 2 clamberjaws mortaring the battlefield, at no health, dodging and punishing with charged spear trips and ropecasting. It takes a bit of setup with added defense/ melee weaves and concentration but I was surprised how usable the less popular sets are now, the build potential with the new combination coils/weaves is INSANE.
Facts. I used to not like the way the Nora lookout armor looked, but it's actually grown on me and the fur cape it's got going on is sick! And very good stats as well.
Would love to see videos of your insane battles. I'm friends online with MrAR, and he does mod battles in HZD. Lots of fun to watch and lots to learn too! 💪
@@kikijewell2967 unfortunately i don't record gameplay. im just the average gamer, living life, juggling games. when i do play its usually just meandering and fumbling through, so its probably not THAT entertaining. probably will never play ultrahard again. Don't even play Horizon anymore, as i got a huge backlog to enjoy. i might go back thoguh games a year from now. However, Zelda has consumed my life right now and FF16 is right around the corner.
I absolutely love the new grapple strike. Using the fully upgraded Quen commander set with an elite concentration weave and elite weapon stamina weave makes it pretty effective. Now that we have the new very effective ropecaster, the new spike thrower that is much better than sky killer simply bc it has drill spikes and built in knock down power as well as some other goodies. With these weapons constantly knocking down enemies and hitting them with the grapple strike and resonator blasts is such a fun gameplay loop.
The legendary Spike from Gildun's quest (with the legendary drill spikes) and the legendary Ropecaster were a no brainer for me, plus the Quen Marine which is basically the Nora Thunder but better, as it replaces the Heavy Weapon Master with Valor, meaning I can remove my Valor coil and use something else.
Bro I deleted the game awhile back just redownloaded and now every time I heal with the berries she keeps on taking them till full health wasting all my berries when I only tapped up once someone please help me fix this😂
@@rylanmckown3508 Yeah I just looked it up apparently the berries have always done that. I thought it might have been a skill I forgot about but I guess not. It must make low health builds pretty challenging
The DLC has S to A tier alternative in every weapon class OTHER THAN tripcaster. HFW did dirty on tripcasters, which used to be my favorite weapon in HZD for a stealth kind of playstyle. Their damage was nerfed to ground in favor of the new trap system. Heck, even spear trap ability does more damage. One of the special ammo type, shield tripwires, even got alternative shield bits which are far better than shield tripwires, making the tripcasters useless in every aspect
to be fair though its still fun to booby trap a whole bandit camp and start throwing rocks, still works even on Ultrahard. i coiled them with damage over time and blast.
@@chimerakait IMO the stealthy trap playstyle is more engaging with trip casters if disregard the damage. Firing two shots that line up with enemy's route visualized by focus feels more satisfying than simply putting down a balloon for me

Try playing this on ultra hard not very fun experience u becoming scared of all mashines that big apex mashine u have to fight ones u get to the main guy saving Seyka sister u die from 1 hit if it’s laser or his tail or anything els and I don’t know if it’s my setting but I don’t see hp on machines I had to use everything I had to kill him used about 50 skytrower to bomb his ass up not so much fun when u actually trying to avoid enemies or u run like crazy for ur life
Trying to get to where the Elite Infiltrator weave is, I encountered a glitch where the crate sunk into the ground and I couldn't move it :-/. I left and came back, closed the game and went back, the crate was still stuck in the rock. fortunately I managed to get up to the stash to get the weave.

Don’t forget the bugs some people have encountered myself included. I can’t even play the DLC now it always crashes after I tried to save, now it’s stuck in a loop😢
i mean thankfully i already beat the dlc and got the items, but damn is it really annoying when you talk about not spoiling certain things and then proceed to straight up spoil every single one of those things you said you wouldnt. Again, I already did all this but still, dont be lying
Incorrect, the pre-order armour is identical to the regular armour, we just get it for free with a unique dye, but statistically it is identical to the regular armour that anyone can buy.

Gravesinger has Strikethrough Arrows, so it's a good upgrade to Regalla's Wrath for human enemies with helms.
I can’t tell if any of the armors are any good compared to the base game. Nora thunder still seems the best.

Yeah, the traps are like the boring version of tripwires. Don't know what they were thinking.

If you mean the ones with the blocked entrances, you need to use your flying mount when close to them to rip them open

Nope just play through the dlc story until you get the Waterwing. Then simply head down into the water to dive with the mount
