I've realized I mispoke on the corrosive state increasing knockdown power...The corrosive state increases the chance of a critical hit happening, not knockdown like I stated in the video... I intended to refer to these critical hits then increasing the chance of a knockdown happening. Totally screwed that up and I apologize for the confusion!! also meant to say "400 explosive damage per clip" at 1:39 thank you for bringing this to my attention!!
Holy shit, how did you catch that? That was melted butter smooth... This kid has to have another channel... the showcase stills where he displays stats on armors/still layered panning images... there is no way he is a first channel 1.47k sub creator... no way in hell.
This is a famtastic video, and something I've been needing as a complimentary to Noxious Asp's "machine spotlights"! One important aspect is the cheap ammo crafting, especially out in the wild.
Great video. I think it's the 1st good break down of the weapon. Most videos are in the "It's cool" camp, but this is informative and helps better understand how to use it. I love this new weapon and have experimented with it and it's nice to see you confirm some of my findings and add some new info I hadn't thought about. Nicely done, and I hit the subscribe button.
So is the spectre gauntlet forbidden west’s version of the banuk weapons from zero dawn? It seems to behave like a cross between the stormslinger and the icerail (or forgefire) I love that they kept that style of weapon in - they were my fav weapons to use in ZD
The exact amount of Shrapnel is not "random" when you hit a Designator. Everytime you hit a Designator or Resonator with the Specter Railgun, that explosion will produce ONE Sparking Shrapnel. Also you don't have to shoot through the machine to get the Sparking Shrapnel. All that is required to get the Shrapnel is to hit the Designator with the Railgun shot. It might be easier to see the damage the Spark is doing by shooting through the machine, but no matter how you hit the Designator with the Railgun, only one Sparking Shrapnel is always produced per shot.
hmmm... but would you say that the shrapnel damage is more "guaranteed" when hitting a designator through another part of the machine vs. hitting it straight on?
From the many tests that I've done, I'd say that most of the time you are more likely to get Shrapnel Spark damage when shooting through the machine to hit the Designator. But that damage still isn't guaranteed. Because the Spark is tiny and if the machine is moving a certain way, the Spark could miss the machine entirely as soon as it is produced from the Designator explosion. Sometimes it can be tossed a good distance away from the machine after the Designator explosion. Also the Spark doesn't like water or ice, so if you are hitting a Designator in those areas, the Spark will disappear as soon as it touches those surfaces, so no more Spark damage. But sand, grass, rock, and dirt are fine. So just hit a Designator around those areas and you should see the Shrapnel Spark easily enough when it hits the ground and continues to Spark along. And it will keep doing damage if it continues to touch the machine while it is active.
This is going to help with many encounters with Apex Clamberjaws and Apex Tracker Burrowers! The annoying thing about both machines is how they constantly dodge your shots but I think the burrower does so more frequently. It's advised to land a few shots on them with the shard barrage till the knockdown kicks in then you can use the Resonator or Designator to finish them off with the final blow. It's just these two jumping critters that I'm having a bit of trouble with, others except for Waterwings and Bileguts I have no problem with.
I would also consider the Critical Boost Valor Surge. It recharges very fast, makes it much more likely to do Crits & increases the overall damage when you do. Should pair very nicely with the Gauntlet.
I simply love the bows, slinghsots and spears. I am not even interested in making an "OP" build to be able to one-shot huge and high-level machines. I am just playing that game (and every other game) the way it is fun to me. You will be so strong without any "game-breaking" builds or weapons if you are just playing normally and upgrade a few weapons. But I still think it is cool they created this weapon. I tried it for a bit and decided I simply don't need and don't want to use it. But it's always a win for us players when developers are simply giving us more options! 😉
The Mounted Archer buff actually goes up to a 50% increase in Damage if @ Level 4. You should always be increasing your buffs to Level 4 whenever possible for the biggest effect. Combining it with a Level 4 Steath Ranged buff will increase it by another 40% as well, and another 80% on top of that with Low Health Ranged! Therefore you can get up to a 170% buff with your first two shots if you stay in Stealth. Worth noting though that if your initial shot does over 30% of the foes total HP, they will immediately become aggro'd & you'll lose the Stealth buff of your 2nd shot.
Brittle does effect the damage with the resignator., but since the damage with the Blast is often all over the place, it´s hard to tell how exactly. My guess is that the distance the railgun impacts the resonator and the machines, and the area covered by the explosion damage has a role in it. But with the Sparks damage etc makes it even harder to get accurate test results. I liked that you made the comparison with timer on Full Auto and Semi-Auto, but i wondered if you missed it or did it not yield result? The Full Auto to Nine Shots, lets call it Full9. The Capacitor Size is 10 Shots, if you fire only 9, you never induce the penalty and reload fast. This should be faster (inaccurate measurement and clumsy execution about 8 seconds). If one would master this mode (like the Stormslinger from HZD) one could get the time even lower, and 20 shots would be a bad comparison for it, because you need to reload for 2 shots. Does the Resignator inrease Tear on the Shard Mode? That is acutally a good question: Yes it does, by 1,25 like the EX damage. Tremortusk on UH has 838 HP and 713 Tear Threshold. It took 13 Shots, only the Tear Treshold was breached during it. With Resonator applied it was 10 Shots, again Tear Treshold was reached before HP. IF only EX damage would have been increased, the damage would have not been enough on both Thresholds, to remove the armor plate. I wonder why you recommend Stamina+ over Regeneration? Resignator holds for 15 seconds, you are bound to regain a lot of stamina (if not getting hit to much) and you are at Low Health, with the new Low Health Stamina Skill it´s even more increased ( 6,25 per second instead of 5 and Level 2 Stamina Regen = 2,5 instead of 2 per second). Don´t remember now, you mentioned Knockdown with the EX ammo, but not with the Railgun i think, if you haven´t try it out! Edit: You mentioned increased Knockdown from the Corrosive State, where did you get that info from? I hear it for the first time and i want to know more.
yes blast damage is all over the place for the railgun and i think your speculation as to why makes sense. maybe it's bugged you think? As for the firing methods, I actually hadn't even considered only firing 9 shards to avoid the overheating status... I guess in my head it always made sense to use the semi auto mode to avoid overheating entirely, but i will definitely play around with the 9 shards method! I've always stuck with the weapon stamina+ weaves when playing the game...i feel like most encounters don't last long enough for me to even need that faster stamina regen which is why i recommended just having a larger stamina pool to begin with BUT i think a stamina regen weave could be more helpful for certain players :)
hi, I wanted to ask you something, I just got the specter glove but I don't see the exclamation point on the map to update the glove and what should I do?
Damage numbers have nothing to do with Tear. Tear damage is never displayed on screen. You seem a bit confused about what the numbers ok screen mean. They never ever dictate Tear damage regardless of what you hit. They always signify impact damage.
Ahtano I wonder how the 24515 dmg was built. A friend of mine did this amazing damage about half a month ago on PS5, he created a designator on machine body then use rail gun to trigger it. white damage 24515.how?
Just curious - didn't they nerf the Specter Gauntlet around the time that you published this video? Was this nerf before or after you published? Thanks in advance. All of your videos are very helpful.
Yeah it did get nerfed a few weeks or so after I posted this video. The big change Guerrilla made was the removal of the shrapnel effect when hitting designators with the railgun… kinda unfortunate that this got removed because it was what made the gauntlet worthwhile for a lot of players
This whole time, i thought i was using it wrong on PC too lol. I had a feeling they nerfed it because I watched a lot of gamers stating how OP it was on PS5. But noooo... the devs thought making bows much stronger made sooo much more sense. I hate it when devs do sh*t like this...
Unfortunately its not just PC any later version of yhe game on ps5 also apparently has this nerf too i thought it was just me but it seems like they removed the shrapnel's ability to damage a single machine more then once. It can go to other machines but it only deals damage once per enemy hit which is imo bs
@@leonardsanchez7589the bows are kinda the whole point of the game along with the other regular weapons, the gauntlet is just a cool gimmick like the shield weaver suit
This is why I worry about the third game. How can they justify their combat loop with all the high end tech that is going to come with the next big bad? It is OK to reward players with a game destabilizing weapon, it is partly why I love the R.Y.N.O series from PS2 Ratchet and Clank games.
Great weapon, useless on Ultra Hard tho :/ Having just completed a Platinum and UH NG+ Completion run, (and being stuck on UH for Burning Shores) I liked the Specter Gauntlet when I got it, but had a hard time killing anything using it even against Waterwings on UH. Sadly this weapon IMO (like the Shield-Weaver in HZD) is only useful on lower difficulties
I wouldn't say it is useless on Ultra Hard. The Railgun Designator attack can be very very devastating to the larger machines. Taking them down rather quickly with the right bonuses. Here's a quick example vid, if you are curious: ruclips.net/video/TgFvRc40d58/видео.html
