    Thanks Nick, I play this in three different chords , by ear, on a C harmonica and sing and play on a Baritone ukulele but have never seen anyone teach as simply as you do. I am already, subscribed and following you on the G harp. Amazing!

    Is my harmonica broken or does it actually start on 4 draw not 3...

    • @jannestal
      @jannestal 11 месяцев назад

      It`s not broken.

    The Original tune is played in D G and C. The C harp in first position is C second position is G and third position id D That would give you all three keys for the song on one harp.

    Ewan MacColl wrote it and released it as a single in 1953.

    Should be able to play using a C harp for all three keys. G in second position C in first and D in third. That way you keep the the Hap solo in a great octave and the G is not at the high end with the D as the Piuges play it. .

      There's no 3rd position in this arrangement. The other position is 12th so on a C harmonica it will be F.

      I'm playing a G harmonica. It looks like I might be playing a Hohner Rocket in that video. I play various brands of harmonica, mostly Hohner, Lee Oscar and Seydel.

    Lovely. It would help me if you wrote in the sequences. I can’t write it down quick enough as your finger moves. Thanks

      Hey Tony, there is also tab you can follow as an alternative way to learn the tune. Click on the link in the description to download it.

    Hi Nick, just a small point could you put the draw notes on the bottom and the blow on Top,, it seams more natural this way. Thanks for the lesson.

      Hi Malcolm, I am aware that a lot of people make these diagrams with blow notes on the top. I did try that but my brain is so use to thinking the other way that I couldn't give these lessons without going very slow or making mistakes. I hope it's not too much of an issue. I have also provided the tab to download as an alternative way to follow along. Cheers, Nick :-)

    I am guessing that you reverse the harmonica to play Putting the draw notes at the top rather than the bottom But thanks anyway.

    WRONG! At 7.41. Should be 4 draw (A note) not 3 draw. Should be same as your tab. Thanks

      I agree. It seemed to me that all the holes pointed at, from the start at 3:19 until the A note at 4:37, need to be moved up one place. From the F# at 4:38 everything seems to match. It’s a great arrangement though and a lot of fun to play. It’s good to try to play in different positions, other than the first, but without having to encounter the dreaded bend notes.
