The biggest issue with Doordash is you need to doordash to begin with.

Great commentary on DD! You nailed it I can certainly attest to those facts you presented. Its a sham that all these Dashers lie bold face about earnings. I am a senior and it has its advantages for me although not fully retired you are correct in making the assumptions that it is a side hustle and only a side hustle.

My reason is that I decided to do what was best for myself and quit a toxic job because it was destroying my emotional and physical health and making me a miserable person. I'm lucky that my husband can handle the bulk of the bills. I do this for now to help with the rest and because it allows me to schedule interviews at my convenience till I find a job that's better for me. I do not plan on doing this long, as I completely agree with you!

Wow excellent reason to Dash! I'm happy you were able to leave a toxic job, that's great you're husband makes enough to handle the heavy part of the bills!
Good job you guy's and best wishes on finding a healthy environment for you're next chapter of work.

@DashingDiary Thank you! When I was younger, I allowed a similar toxic job destroy me. It was an unbearable amount of stress , every employee was expected to do the workload of 3 people and we were constantly put in a position to disappoint and let down clients. We couldn't tell them that we don't suck at our jobs, the company sucks at proper staffing. 💁‍♀️ I'm not the kind of person who's alright with providing clients with subpar service. Of course that also came with plenty of abuse aimed at me/us from the understandably frustrated clients.
Anyways, I just cared too much, and it tore me up. I learned the hard way. I ended up with 2 autoimmune diseases that are caused by long periods of stress and trauma, and both are diseases that are pain inducing and will never go away. They thrive and flare up from stress, so I really have to watch it.
This last job I quit was in the same industry and came with all the same issues, except my actual employer was decent. The excessive workload is the nature of the industry I was in, and it's definitely not for everyone. Now, at 47, I have learned that no job is worth your happiness, health, or sanity. No job is worth hardly ever seeing your family because all you do is work. No job is worth feeling like you can't help but bring it home, and can't turn it off. No job is worth waking up in the middle of the night worried about what you didn't get done and what's coming, while you panic about how there's never enough hours in the day. I could go on and on, but that was my life fror way too long and it was not worth it for any amount of money. I worked with condos and homeowners associations as a property manager for anyone wondering.
I wish you all the luck getting your businesses up and running. DD is great for the in between, but we all know this isn't how anyone will make enough to survive off of indefinitely. I hope your projects take off quickly so you don't have to be a doordash slave anymore!😊
