Tips. Don't start your dash until your in your area by restaurants that do dash, sit down restaurants. Nothing below 6 bucks just decline those. I can make avg 1000 bucks a week doing dash and I do Wag too, and Uber at night Take notes every time you dash a order, what the wait times , what the busy times with the food place. etc. how much you made. Then you know where to accept and decline, don't accept orders that take you over 7 or 8 miles out of your location, I have never use my red card after a year. lol. You can make good money on these apps - this is your own business. Good luck and have fun with Doordash, you make money so easy!

This makes me excited!! I'm 29 and have a genetic, progressive illness called Ehlers Danlose Syndrome...and I live off of disability. Which is a joke! As far a the money is concerned. So I've been looking into delivery apps. I desperately need a side hustle (that is my disability friendly), in order to live independently. I've not started yet simply because I don't know which one I should choose...and I know if I do more than 1 at a time, I'll get overwhelmed and it'll cause me to stop all together...and possiblynot restart. Anyways, think im going to try GrubHub! Seems like a speed that I can personally handle best. Thank you for these tips in advance! This video and all these comments, ect... makes me pretty excited and hopeful. That I can take back control of my life. ✌🖤

@@coachanderson2704 @Coach Anderson . Awe. Thank you so much! I really appreciate your response and words of encouragement. 🥰 .
Oh...and I definitely meant to say "doordash", not "grubhub". lol. Though I'm again, still not 100% sure which I'll do just yet. I need to do some more research as far as what app is used most around the area in which I live. I'm hoping doordash is one of them!! Because all the research I've done thus far (as far as which food delivery app pays the best, is most user friendly and that kinda thing), DoorDash is definitely the #1 pick, in my opinion. So...🤞🏻
      Thank you again.

Nice to see you're getting the hang of Doordash. One thing that definitely helped me when starting out is checking the order specifically for beverages since sometimes restaurant staff can forget them. When that happens, it can lead to an upset customer which can reflect in a bad rating. If the restaurant did forget them, just politely point it out so they can make it and the customer can get their full order.

So i dont knowof anyones mentioned this or if youve figured it out but you dont have to end the dash after every delivery. That akes you completely off line and the minute or two it takes for you to hit dash now and choose a time and everything you couldve missed an order. After finishing a delivery and doing thedelivery review itll take you right back to the page where its searching for dashing and you only need to hit end dash when youre ready to finish your shift. So if i hit dash now at 2and set my end time at 6 i dont have to hit end dash until 6 or whatever time im ready to head home if that makes sense. Good luck dashing!

    • @EnjoyingLifesJourney
      @EnjoyingLifesJourney  5 лет назад

Yeah I didn't end my dash after every delivery. I ended it after my dash. I had 3 dash now shifts and 1 schedule shift. Are u saying I could have stayed on after the dash now ended?

    • @kendrawildberger6197
      @kendrawildberger6197 5 лет назад

Yes, you can stay on. Ending your dash is pretty much like you’re clocking out and going home. Meaning you no longer want orders. After you do your delivery, you just swipe that it’s delivered and then it’ll look for another order for you. DD will only end your dash if you’re at the end of your shift and you didn’t extend your dash. This might be a moot point though since you’ve probably been doing it for awhile now and found that out. BTW- I’m in the Phx area too. I dash in Gilbert QC area.

Walmart uses Door Dash for groceries. I am happy with it, and I tip generously, if you are not mean and nasty. So far I only had one crazy Dasher, and he was not tipped. I do feel people should tip extra for heavy or large orders, or Walmart should include the
tip, so you do not have to climb 3 floors or more, unless you pay extra. No one should not tip, unless you get a super disrespectful crazy, that is angry at the start.

Did three shifts, not one single batch. So I decided to do doordash. I worked an hour and a half on a Tuesday during lunch time and got 3 orders, made $20. I was happy with that as a first day out for a short time on what is considered a slow day. One thing that I learned about Instacart and Doordash. U can make more money with Doordash because the deliveries are constant like back to back and some of the orders can be $8 - $12 dollars and u get them done faster than Instacart which means u get more orders in an hour done.
But Instacart you can get an order for $12 dollars and it can take u a whole hour to shop plus deliver to the customer and then u may not get an order right after that.
Doordash here where I am at which is in the Atlanta metro area the money really comes in if u pick your hours correctly especially around lunch time.
I usually would go in at 7am to 930 am to get the breakfast money and then come back on at 11 where the lunch time is propping.

Doing pizza delivery I average $600 a week between tips and paycheck and that’s in only 4 days
So if I did DoorDash, I’d have to make $150 per day and don’t think that’s possible through DoorDash or any other of these food app jobs
So I’ll stick to normal pizza delivery

Bryan I did pizza delivery before to help us get out of debt and averaged $16-20 hour, i worked about 20hrs a week. It is a great option for those who have the time to commit to a schedule and work for an employer. With Doordash I'm averaging $15-18 hour now that I know when to work and its great for me only wanting to work 6hrs a week and the flexibility to work or not work as my schedule at home changes. Both great options as side income.

Dumb question. Do you have to deliver to apartments? I ask because I have bad knees, and me and steps don't get along too well. It seems all the videos I have seen just deliver to houses in a neighborhood. This may not be for me, even if I am retired. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the amount depends on the area. If there are not many in the zone you won't have a lot. I've delivered to very few.

Just did it for the first time today, on a Friday. I made 50 bucks within 1:44 minutes.
I wanted to do so much more lol but it was raining bad, and got dark out. Come to find out my areas are pretty hot.
It was like 28 bucks in tips. Good tippers in the more wealthy parts of the city, and when it's raining I feel it's probably a good time to do it as some people
might feel more inclined to tip.

Just a heads up, this will be a long post. So some tips and tricks for doordash during the time I've been doing it or questions that you had about it I will answer the best I can that I have the answers to or that I think I know the answers to.
So scheduling would probably be the best to ensure that you do get a shift, but the dash now as you saw does work and it does go quick so you want to be on it as quick as you can and pick the latest time that you want to work. The chunks of area are pretty big so sometimes it will say dash now but it'll be busy like in Avondale and not up north and so you might be sitting there for a little while waiting. But the calls will come in, at least at night time, I've only work during the day once or twice so all my experiences are like 5 p.m. and later. So unless it's changed, the acceptance rate doesn't matter, the completion does, the ratings that people give you as far as I know don't matter, and then the on-time does matter, the higher the better because they will give you bonuses for having enough on time's.
When I started doordash I had to drive down to downtown and sit through a little orientation and physically pick up my red card, you also had to buy your own bag but I've heard that they give you one now for free. So I don't have a doordash bag I just use an insulated bag that I have myself, but usually the drop-off is so close anyways, itreally doesn't matter the short amount of driving is not going to cool it off that much. So with the acceptance rate not really mattering, take a look at how far it is from you and decide whether it makes sense to drive that far for the money. I stay in the surprise area and unless I specifically I'm going to Glendale or Peoria near Arrowhead, I don't go that way, at least not for a pickup, for drop off I might, cause then I can pick up some work while I'm there, and I know it'll be busy. But if I'm near the 303 and it's trying to tell me to pick up something near 115th Avenue and Bell and it's all going to pay me a few bucks, I don't go. I wait for something closer, so I decline it, and let somebody from Glendale head out there and grab it and I wait for something closer and I try to keep everything close enough to where it makes sense. If it's the same for new people and they don't care about the acceptance rate, you might as well kind of game it a little bit to your advantage and only take the stuff that's going to make the most sense, gas and time wise to pick up. (I know it sounds kinda bad, but somebody will be there to pick it up, and I don't know for a fact, but would assume if they have to send it to you again, they might offer more money) You do run the risk of declining a call and not getting one for a little while so you'll be sitting, but you have to ask yourself is it still worth sitting and not going anywhere? as opposed to putting those miles on the car, using that time and having it eat up you know some of the money and putting you in a different area etc etc.
For someone like you who's willing to drive around a little bit more and you plan on spending the day out and your health is good enough, it makes sense to probably just start in Arrowhead and hang around there it's going to send you a little bit, but don't be too afraid to decline some calls if it just doesn't make any sense. Also yeah don't try and make it home if your scheduled till 6 unless it happens to be like it did yesterday, where you ended up by the house then you know that makes sense to either take a break or to call it quits, other than that, just plan on stying out. Just find a good place to sit and chill, take a couple snacks with you, you got the radio, bring a book, audiobook, play on your phone, Etc but just stay out and don't drive further than you have to. If you end up sitting for like 20 minutes 30 minutes and you get nothing most likely you're not going to get anything at that point I would call it quits.
so for red card orders it does not show you on the outside at the bottom of the picture of the map in like a black oval, it'll say red card order. I don't think on the other calls they say anything, so you just have to look for one that says red card order. There are times where they will double up your orders. You'll end up picking up two meals and dropping off to two different people but it's only if they're both close to each other or you're the only driver that's within a reasonable distance, those ones are really good cause, in the same amount of time (we'll a few minutes longer) you can get paid twice and that really helps boost it up. I've only had that happen out here in the Northwest area because there's not as many drivers and like I said I try to stay close to home because of my back.
A lot of the places are pretty cool about offering you drinks, Red Robin gives you a cup of fries which is nice. I'm trying to watch my weight so it's not the best thing to eat, but it's a good little pick me up if you don't happen to have another snack or if you've already finished your snack, you can get a little cup of fries and they're really good. I also picked up (I think I mentioned it to you and another one of your videos) some apps on my phone that you either take surveys or perform some type of tasks and you get points that you turn in for gift cards or cash. So I do those in my downtime to keep the pay up. Some of them are doing little jobs at like grocery stores or places like that you can check in, scan products or you can take pictures of things that are necessary and turn them in and that's another way of making a little bit money while doordash is being slow. Or if doing this one little job is going to make you as much money as one door Dash call or close to the same amount, you can park the car get out and walk around the store and get the job done, and you can just pause the dash and go run in to do that real quick. (you can pause your dashes for about 35 minutes, if you haven't come back to the dash in 35 minutes, it'll kick you out of the dash, but it gives you a chance to go to the bathroom or get something to eat).
As you figured out though, the more sit down restaurants don't require you to pay like Outback, Red Robin Etc, where the smaller or more fast food places usually make you pay, Chipotle you just have to pay but you don't have to order, but at Wendy's and Taco Bell you place the order and pay with your red card. Also as you figured out because it was Super Bowl some of the places were a little bit more busy than usual which slowed you down a little bit, the other problem with Super Bowl is a lot more Dashers come out to work, therefore the calls tend to go down a bit. Saturday night I went out and they were not quite back to back but I was constantly busy for the time that I was out. So it's sometimes hit-or-miss, it could just be a nondescript day and you'll make a whole lot of money, and sometimes it'll be the Super Bowl and you don't make as much money. Also door Dash will start sending you texts saying, hey it's busy out come dash, so if it happens to be a Tuesday night and it pops pop up and you happen to be able to do it, you can run out for an hour and make 10 15 20 bucks (depending on the calls that you get). Another thing that I like to do is, make sure that when I'm dropping off the food, I leave my window down but I leave the car running as to not waste as much gas turning off and on the car constantly, which will kill your gas mileage. also the problem with working in a big area like Arrowhead is, there are so many different restaurants you can end up going to new ones every day you work, with me working in a smaller area I get to intimately know where each store is, and the quirks of each. Best way to get in and out of there, how and where to go inside, because some places make you go to the bar, some places have a to-go door Etc and so I can just know the area a little bit better, with back routes into the restaraunts, etcetera. So that's one downfall of working in that bigger area and taking every call that comes, but the good thing is like you said you have some new ideas or possibly where to go eat with your family.
I'm pretty sure there was some more that I was going to try to answer or point out, but I've been rambling for so long I forgot most of it..., hopefully this helps out a little bit. But yeah I would definitely say it's a good way to make some extra cash or to do it real quick whenever you have free time. since you don't mind driving around a little bit, ubereats might work for you a little bit as well, I don't like it cause I can't see where I'm going ahead of time. They just tell you where to pick up from, but there's no type of scheduling with them. It's all just go into it and start working, theres never a time where you can't get in. How doordash has the map that grays out, you can always be ready to work. Problem with that is there might be no calls around you and you're just going to sit there logged in. I talked to a couple people and they said Postmates is like that too and they like Postmates a lot, I think I mentioned to you I'm going to be trying it, but if I didn't, yeah, I'm gonna be trying that pretty soon too.
sorry for the super long comment, at least I warned you beforehand!

Since your Instacart one was from Sunday, did you go out on this DoorDash on a Sunday as well? From what I know of the restaurant delivery business, it was always way better on the weekends, decent tips, and slow as heck through the week. The elephant in the room with all of these delivery services is that your vehicle goes to shit as you stack mileage and they really don't care about it from the restaurant/app side and the customer doesn't really seem to know/care either.

How’s doordash working for you? I’ve watched your intacart video and kiddos to you!! I have to say you have a lot of patients to go grocery shopping nine times in one day! I don’t think I have your energy to run around the super market gathering food several times a day and to boot stand in the checkout line😂.
I’ve been looking into working a side gig to help make some extra money to upgrade our home air conditioner unit. I work full time so this would definitely be part time a few days a week. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

I like doordash a lot more than Instacart. Its less work and you can complete more orders in an hour. I also average a few more dollars per hour with it. Its great for extra cash and I even ran into a few other drivers that do it fulltime.

You guys need Skip The Dishes then you can see what it's really like to be an independent contractor where drivers can actually make fair amounts of money. Where you get to keep all of your tips but also be paid your guaranteed earnings... where you won't be deactivated because your deliveries weren't exactly on time... and where you can refuse whatever you want without having to explain a reason for doing so. Drivers need to wake up... let these trashy companies go under... let the ones worth it stay.
