@@bromicorn It works on swivels for me. My SH Figuarts Kamen Rider Black and Bardock both had scary stiff bicep swivels so I had to pop em apart at the bicep, lube it up with the dish soap, and then stick em back on and they’ve been moving fine since

His shoulder just will not move and it makes his arm look really weird in the position it is in. I had to make him put his fist on his hip to look (slightly) less goofy. He is a special edition repaint, with a metallic blue suit and not the matte blue. I think it is just the paint binding it up. Thanks for the vid!
I know this video is quite old now, but regardless I found this very helpful. I just got a MAFEX figure and the hip joints were tight and I was genuinely scared, I paid a lot for it and it was the last one on the store site I got it from. But putting the dishwashing liquid I had on the joints helped and my blood pressure came back down. Thank you so much.

When I tried this, I had added some soap to his torso that made things a little too loose, but if you run water through the figure and give time to dry, all should be okay. The application I did to his legs has still held up after all this time, and they still work great.

Will it also work on model kits? Cuz I have the Mega man, Roll, and Proto man kits from Kotobukiya and recently got the Valkyrie no densetsu kit from Kotobukiya and the joints on those were kinda stiff.
I'm going to try this since I actually got some joint tightening solution in a joint that didn't need it and now it is really hard to move hopefully this helps.
I would not do this like a math equation. Try rinsing whatever you used out with water or something - I'm guessing not Pledge? - that will remove it and let it sit.

Hello, I recently got some Dead or Alive KT 3/4 inch Kaiyodo Takara mini figures, and the plastic joints are REALLY tight. I believe these figures are a bit old but they were kept factory sealed. I tried moving the leg joints but they are very tight and I'm afraid of breaking them. Would this work on these mini figures?
The left arm on my figuarts gogeta (that i got TODAY) won't move at all and I've been using dawn dish soap and oil on it over and over and over again, nothing happens
What oil? Wash everything out immediately. Just run it under water. Go back to step 1 and apply a bit of dish soap, and try applying a bit of heat ( NOT water) and try to get it to move once. If it doesn't work, nbd. Let it SIT in the box overnight and don't touch it. Come back to it tomorrow and it might be fine.
I have multiple Fortnite Legendary Series figures that all have the same issue. When the arms move outwards to the side, they snap into place, but it's so tight, it might snap off the peg that goes into the bicep. Do you think this would work on ratchet-type joints like that?
I'm having a heck of a time loosening up one of my Neca predator's forearm joints. The sculpt prevents me from applying any soap because the forearm guard covers the joint. It's drivin me crazy. Heating it hasn't helped either.

eibun2011 No problem! I plan on making a video just for that. In the meantime, try telling your brother to get clear coat nailpolish and to coat the joint with it to make it tighten up a bit, it should work.
I didn't even have to put soap on it I just detached my newly arrived monsterarts rebirth goji's right leg (wich was wayyy to tight to do Stopmotion with) , put it back on and it was fine Thanks for the help

That looks way better than the hot water or blow dryer method. I got some NECA figures, and they come pretty tight in certain joints.
That will need to be used to unstick the joints due to paint gluing the joints. This is for ball joints either too big or sockets too small.

+IMP 22 heat that mother up. The paint is most likely stuck, and if that's the case this won't work at all gotta hear it up
