Shock oil is definitely a great investment for collectors, especially when some joints tend to be hella tight, it is kinda sad when the figure has lubrication issues but this is really the best solution Thanks for the tutorial!
Agreed, no idea why its taken me this long to get some lol. I said it a couple times but as annoying as tight joints are id much rather them be tight and easily sorted with shock oil than too loose and be forced to use super glue etc.
alternative if your lazy or too broke to get some shock oil you can use dish soap and water mixture and apply it the same way. did it for my tonsen trunks
Do you know of any way to get that oil on the necks ball peg inside the torso?. Mines super tight and I don't see any way to get the oil on it. I can't heat it up to take the torso apart because the black tank top is glued to it and I don't want to ruin the glue
@@BigDeanoReviews Alright. Then how would you go about taking one of the arms off without breaking the peg?. I've seen someone take a spoon and scoop up under the arm and pushed it out, but I'm not sure if they heated up the figure first or not.
I just got my Trunks in recently and his legs(hips specifically) are so tight I'm afraid they'll break. How do I get the shock oil onto those leg joints without pulling apart the figure(afraid I'll break him)?
@@SavageFist Best way is to do what I do and pop him apart at the waist yo get access to the hip joint from above. The oil should flow into the joint as you slowly move it.
@BigDeanoReviews How'd you go about doing that? Any technique or prep beforehand, like heating up the waist? Do I twist and pull or just straight direct pulling. Asking so I don't accidentally break this guy 😅
@@SavageFist Mine came apart at the waist quite easily but if you're worried then id give it a dip in hot water first. Im afraid it is just a risk that you need to decide if its worth taking, theres really no easy wa of getting the oil into the joints unfortunately
I forgot to ask but did you have to take the leg apart on the trunks to get shock oil in the thigh swivel or did you use pure heat to fix that part of the figure? I'm nervous mine will break once I get him
@@kaioken654 I had already got it to move by giving it a hot bath but I popped a bit of oil into the gap and let it flow into the joint. Didnt want to try popping that part off and risk it snapping
@@BigDeanoReviews Ohhh yeah. He's actually on sale right now for like $53 free shipping. I got one last night. I'm much more willing to pay that considering the issues than $70
@@941asland I did with Trunks because his thighs were literally stuck, but if the joint moves and is just tight then using the oil straight away works fine.
@@BigDeanoReviews for hip joints I just take a little glob of it with a q-tip and deposit it in through the top like you did with the oil here. Could also prob warm the container with warm water and it’ll probably melt and you can use a dropper

Hey, i have a question, what happens if you put the oil on switchable hands? Are they gonna wear off? Or do i have to do it with each hand
Nice! My Tonsen Trunks came with a broken Arm Joint right of the box…
Broken?? As in snapped?
i did a review on the tkdiy torso kit and he was tight as! so i need to get this stuff, ty 💪

For applying the oil to the legs did you split him in half to reach the inside of the legs?
