Looks like the start tomorrow will have very challenging conditions. I do not envy the teams who will have to make adjustments every couple of hours. It will be a long day for all of them and they probably won't rest much. Regarding the Ultims, I'm surprised SVR isn't at the front or closer to BP. It's the newest boat and the most radical. A lot of thinking has gone into the aerodynamic design of this boat yet Gitana, a half-decade older boat, is still generally faster despite SVR having at least two years to optimize. All the recent modifications BP did to their boat are really paying off now. Looks like a spaceship with speed to match.

I think weather has played a role in that. It was quite patchy leaving the skippers little control. Sometimes they were 5 or 6 knots slower for a few hours, then faster again.. So I think mostly luck on BP part, in combination with skills ofcourse, but still. As the weather gets less patchy and more steady over the next three days. We might see SVR claw back some miles, but 90 miles is a good lead. It's not going to be easy to make up that much ground.

Love analysis and agree with the other comments, maybe one of the big Saling networks will pick up your show, for these are kinds of races

Ski Jumper appeared at 7:58 but only flew for about a minute and the crashed. Defiantly tricky sea state. haha.

Very challenging conditions indeed, will be really testing the crew (endurance) and the yachts. Good analysis, thanks!
