Really Flea is one of the best bassist in the world. Master in the slaps and the rhythm. And you can fill all the music, even if you have a single guitarist in the band.

I'm a huge Frusciante fan. That being said, Josh brings more excitement and energy to the table. He's a fantastic performer and guitarist. I LOVE the new RHCP release (Unlimited Love), but live, John comes across overly medicated. Sorry but it's true.
yeah true but it doesn't even matter because Frusciante is just 10 times more talented in my opinion. John tells a story with his playing, I don't connect with Josh's sound as much.

Dave and Josh weren't John's replacements, they were the guys after John. The only actual (noteworthy) replacement was John, who was filling in for Hillel until he found his place and became just the next guy and not Hillel's replacement.
sydneylol John is arguably the most influential guitar player of the last 30 years. Hillel was never going to become anywhere close to that. I appreciate him for being a part of the beginning stage but that’s it. After listening to “Im with you” again I’ll concede that it was pretty good actually. It’s just not up to par with the albums with John.
Will forever appreciate Josh, just a shame I didn’t get to see him live while he was in the band
