Thanks brother you're one of the only ones that said exactly which way to get those clips being as tight as it is I appreciate it
Good video! I have a 96 also and this was truly helpful. Thanks!
Tank you for your help i apreciate really❤
Great breakdown awesome job!
Nice to know my '96 isnt the only one that occasionally has a weird burbly startup, other than that, ill be looking for one of these wheels
Taking out the clockspring is necessary? Does that make the auto canceling turn signals not work anymore?
Yes it was necessary but it did not eliminate the auto canceling turn signals
How large in depth would you say that adapter is? After seeing your very helpful video I am starting to think my adapter will be too short and the wheel may hit my turn signal.
I’m not sure what the depth on the adapter is, the adapter number is A17 from forever sharp steering wheels, they might have the specs for it on their website
Is the airbag light still off?
First of all thanks for posting the video. Do all those Wheels come with the entire kit or is it something extra you have to ask for? Can you buy the adapter kit and put a different six bolt on steering wheel on? Let me know please
The wheel and the horn wiring all come together as a kit. The adapter is sold separately and you have to choose the specific adapter for your vehicle. I’m not sure if another 6 bolt wheel would mount to the adapter I haven’t tried that, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work
Do you have the part number to that adapter
@@hausofgameguardrottweilers607 the part number on their website is A17
Nice wheel!
Should have bought a billet Specialties..👀😎👊🏻
Looks Nice man 👍👍👍
Thanks I appreciate it!
I have a 95 I like it nice job
I really wanna do this on my 98 sikverado. But I can't figure out a shorter spacer. That spacer is HUGE.
It is but once it is installed with the steering wheel it's not uncomfortable to sit in the driver's seat. I didn't have any issues with clearance while driving. Hope this helps
@@shopchronicles here's a question. Do you think if the spacer was 1" shorter you'd have a problem with the shifter? I contacted forever sharp and they said the only difference between the a17 and the a01 is 1"
Thats a really good question I'm not sure if it would hit being 1 in shorter. But if that is a problem you may be able to go to a 94 and older shift lever. I think they are straighter. Or you could go with an after market billet shifter
I'm sorry, I have another question haha. Does the airbag light stay on because you've removed the airbag?
@@xafnyx Yes my air bag light continued to stay on because the air bag was cut and the wires were left in an open circuit
Was that the Clock Spring you removed, no Cruise Control now?
The adapter you put as the link is not the same one you have. Can you please post a link of the exact adapter you have? I installed the one you linked and it's too short. Don't have clearance from the turn signal.
Great video 🎉
i have a 97 and wanting to do this are there any airbag lights on after and if so can you get rid of them thanks
The air bad light will be on, I’m sure there is a way to get rid of it with wiring in a resistor, or pull the bulb out of the gauge cluster
Clean!!!
Do u cut the yellow airbag wire it won’t come tf off
How is the quality of the steering wheel is it flimsy almost like it bends easy?
The quality of the steering wheel is great. It didn’t flex or bend at all
I'm doing mine now and just like yours mine is not centered.
The FIRST thing you do is disable the airbag. Either pull the fuse or disconnect the battery cable
i have a 97 obs im just curious is everything i need to do the install in the description or is there anything else i need to order in order for it to fit properly
You’ll just need the steering wheel and the adapter and it should be the same adapter that I put on
@@shopchronicles okay thank you !! do you know what adapter option i have to select
Do you still have an airbag?
No there is no air bag on the driver side any more. The passenger air bag is still good
Ok, I have another question, did the adaptor come with the steering wheel or did u buy it separately
@@firesgold520 the adapter was sold separately the adapter you should need for 95-98 is A17
I wanna do this on my 97 Chevy Silverado but idk if it needs the adapter or not
You will need the adapter I'll get the link for you
fssteeringwheels.com/search?q=A17
Did you need a adapter?
Yes i did need an adapter. The adapter needed for 95 and newer is the A17 adapter from forever sharp steering wheels website.
The wheel,3 hike adapter and actual adapter had to all be ordered separately?
How much closer is this wheel than the stock one if any?
I honestly don’t think it’s any closer than the stock steering wheel. The mounting for the factory steering wheel had more of an offset than the new one so with the spacer I think it puts it in about the same spot as the factory wheel
Does the steering wheel diconnect
Once it’s installed it doesn’t disconnect
good video!
Is the color gray?
Yes this one was gray
What adapter number did u buy u didn't put which one u bought
The adapter I used is the A17
Here is the link for it
fssteeringwheels.com/products/5-6-hole-2-piece-adapter-polished
@shopchronicles5604 I just received my wheel, hub and adapter .the adapter I have is the A17 5-6 hole but it seems so much shorter than the adapter you have.any input?
Do you have the link for the adapter kit ?
fssteeringwheels.com/search?q=A17
Did you install the snap ring back on the shaft before putting the new steering wheel in or is it unnecessary?
Wondering the same thing
@@obspurp3171 In another video a guy was telling me it wasn’t needed anymore with the new steering wheel
Do you have to unplug the battery at any time throughout the installment since you’re taking off the airbag?
Yes
what size steering wheel did you use
What did you do about the air bag light on the dash
Probably just took the bulb out
Do you have exact part number for adapter kit?
I have a 2000 obs tahoe limited
It will work on a nbs the steering shaft is the same the only difference is I had to slightly trim the cover for rubbing. I have an 02
My truck went into theft mode I believe idk what to do
What year is your truck?
I'm wondering if I can do this on my 04
I installed a grant steering wheel on my 05 Silverado. Only issue I had was I couldn't find a hub adapter for my year. I believe they don't make one. So I swapped my steering shaft spline for a 00 Silverado
What size is te steering wheel?
What’s the spline count??
How did you get the last original piece held in by the snap ring unplugged? Mine will not unplug.
The wire that comes through for the air bag I had to cut to get it to go through the piece held on with the snap ring
@@shopchronicles I ended up doing the same thing. I was installing my son’s FS wheel. Thanks for the video!
@@martywilkinson6722 thank you for commenting and We’re glad you liked the video!
What did you do with the airbag wire?
On mine I cut it and then put electrical tape on the ends and left it. I do have an air bag light on the dash though
@@shopchronicles is there a way to get rid of the airbag light?
@@JayJay-rm8ru I'm not 100% sure I unfortunately don't have that truck anymore so I was never able to figure it out. I would imagine wiring in a resistor close to what the resistance of the air bag would have been would trick it and cause it not to read but I'm not 100% sure. Just my thoughts on it. I hope this helps
@@JayJay-rm8ru The other quick and easy way to get rid of the air bag light is to pull the cluster and remove the bulb for it
Can you sent me the link to it
Is this the same as a 95 Tahoe?
Yes it will be the same for the 95 tahoe
@@shopchronicles I think I have all the right stuff for a whole new steering wheel is there anyway I could send you a pic to confirm that I have it all?
@@shopchronicles if so how would I send a pic?
@@wang_thang6026 send me an email at shopchronicles929@gmail.com
@@shopchronicles okay cool thanks!
How did u pull ur wheel adjuster ?
Pull out*
Mine doesn’t pull out
Why is the adapter so large? Do they make a shorter version? Thanks.
The 89-94 adapter is smaller but I’m not sure if it will work. I thought that the large adapter would cause the steering wheel to get in the way but after installing I had no issues with clearance of the steering wheel
@@shopchronicles cool thanks. I went to the site and saw the adapters and they do have a short adapter so I dropped them an email to see if it would in fact work on my 95 suburban. Thanks again!
@@hdrjunkie hi. Was reading ur message about the adapter for the forever wheel. Did u get one, and if u did what size did u use? I'm on the fence also about what size to get for my 96 sierra 1500
@@brooklyn_paisan1348 hey. Yeah I never ended up getting one because I got in touch with the company and they don’t make one (smaller one) for a truck with an airbag in the steering wheel. I’d happily delete my airbag in the wheel for a new wheel at this point. Lol all my older trucks and cars didn’t have them so like the saying goes: “no airbags, we die like real men!” Lol
Can you hook the horn up with the kit the way it is.
Does your horn still work?
