    Everyone loves a good comparison test! Well done! The “studio” sure is sharp too

      Thank you my friend! Soooo much still to do in the “studio”, but it’ll have to wait until the spring now. 🤙

    Nice job again Phil like your scoring system works very well and is simple to understand.
    What is interesting is lots of films say injora gear isn't that great but I'm of the opinion that in the last 12 to 18 months they really seem to be getting their act together and producing so good kit now .

      Thanks Geoff. I've been pretty impressed so far with the Injora stuff. Price is right too. That said, I've avoided their metal axles and have some MEUS Racing ones on the way for Christmas! 😎 🤙

      I have never had an issue with any injora parts yet. I have used them across scx24, fcx24, and trx4m with no issues. I did order wheels that had lost the one screw holding together and a inner wheel ring was lost in transit somehow, they express shipped me 2 of them within 5 days. Just thought I'd share.

      @@joedavidjarvis7617 appreciate the comments, thanks. I’m growing in to a big Injora fan pretty quickly. That said there was part of my last order missing and so I’ll reserve full judgement until that is sorted out.

    In a summary, bigger isn't always better.
    I got all 3 sets you tried, different brand 1st set. The double barrel ones I stripped down and polished the shafts at work. Made it a little smoother, but they only tend to work in a dead straight line, any flex would cause it to bind. I ran a soft spring from a 32mm shock on the double barrels. The flex looks good in photos and thats it.
    I think Injora makes 2 different length oil filled ones.
    I agree with most of what you said. Regarding quality, most of the stuff nowadays isn't that bad. I'm sure most of the shocks all come out of the same factory just with a different name on the box.
    Maybe the non oiled ones got up the slop because of the bounce. You often see people bouncing in there 4x4s trying to find traction. The oiled ones would look good for thoes scale videos. I still like them. Is that the first time ordering directly from Injora? I had a few reward points from them and ended up with free parts.

      I don’t think it was the first time I’ve ordered direct, but I’d forgotten how quickly things arrived from them. I’ll be using them again for sure.
      I’ve not given up on the oil shocks yet. Put some 250 oil in them today and will try them without springs, see if that makes any difference. They run pretty smooth, so I think they should be good, perhaps just need a little more tuning than the friction ones. Need to spend a bit more time on them I think. 🤙

    I used telescopic shocks with the stock spings which made it ride ok

    • @PhilBrindley
      @PhilBrindley  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I’ve seen a few do that. Limiting straps are also good for stopping them unloading completely apparently. Have you tried those?

      @@stephenr6427 nice, I could never get it to work right with limiting straps. No idea why, as the theory is sound.

    Hi Phil. My name is Richard from Muskegon, Mi. I have a question for you concerning long shocks. When I put them on my SCX24 67 Chevrolet truck and picked it up from the sides, my driveshaft would fall out. How do I stop this from happening. Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated. Have a great day.

    • @PhilBrindley
      @PhilBrindley  Месяц назад +1

      @@richardseewald9956 Hi, I would think your best option would be limiting straps to restrict the full axle travel i little. Other than that I’d say either longer driveshafts if you have some range of movement in them at full compression, or switch to shorter shocks. It depends what you are going for really. If you want a lifted look then the longer shafts is going to be the only way. Hope that helps.

    The 43mm injora shocks are nice piece of kit. The hot racing 43mm ones are straight poop

      I settled on the oil filled in the end, happy with them… for now at least.
      Thanks for tuning in 🤙
