Hi guys, here I showed up how to install windows 7 in UEFI mode on a new generation computer. But keep in mind that Windows 7 kernel which is always best for BIOS-based computer, I mean for legacy BIOS Mode, and one more important thing, installing a UEFI copy of Windows 7 is not as simple as installing a UEFI copy of Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. But don’t worry, this video will definitely help you to install windows 7 on your UEFI-based computer.

there is a newer version of Rufus, 3.11 does this make a difference or must it be v3.3 and I have several 64GB and higher Thumb drives. I have Win 7 x64 Ultimate on Official Windows CD as well as ISO file. I take it that it must be an ISO file.

is it that you cannot select gpt? keep finding windows 7 iso's or see if you do have uefi or bios
Sir can i install gpt on my hp pavilion g6-2103tu laptop windows 10 upgraded from windows 7? Currently my machine is running in mbr. My machine has both legacy and secured boot option but i tried several method to convert mbr to gpt but non worked.I will be highly obliged if sir could help me
Y u selected 1 folder in 4 folders and in my 12 folders available and if I do what u mentioned even win 7 loading error is coming before not doing this process,loading stopped at win logo prompt
folder 1 is "Windows Ultimate"
the other folders are Windows pro, home, or enterprise.
You can check with the command: DISM /Get-ImageInfo /wimfile G:/sources/install.wim
In rufus 3.9 after selecting any windows iso file i lose the ability to select GPT. MBR is the only option i have. I do have the gpt option on my linux iso files but not windows (xp, 7 or 8). Please help.

I was able to install and boot windows 7 using uefi and CSM enabled. I can't boot into windows with CSM disabled though. How can I fix this?

i have flash already have windows but i`m sure is not UEFI do you mean can replace 1 file to make UFEI mode ?

For installing UEFI based win 7 we have to first format in GPT partition.. if your partition will be on MBR whole data will be loss how can we make MBR partition GPT without data formatting suppose if i have win7 already installed and working fine and that was in MBR format how we will make this partition in GPT
¿Does this work with UEFI and NTFS mode? , it's just that FAT32 it's not available when i try to use the rufus
I checked what my partition scheme is and its GPT, but I cant change it from MBR to GPT and Target system from Bios to UEFI... doesn't even give the option between the two. I can only choose Bios (or UEFI-CSM) as a target system and MBR as partition scheme...
Check whether your motherboard has uefi and bios enabled if yes then disable bios/legacy mode. Rest is same as in above video.
Get latest Rufus version

After booting Windows 7 usb installer the message "Windows is loading files" appears, followed by the message "Starting Windows". The installation ends here because the computer restarts and repeats the same steps again. When I remove the USB stick, Windows 11 that is installed on the computer starts. i downloaded 2 different win7 x64 lite weight Os i cant use in UEFI because both are missing the efi folder and my bios does not support legacy
both ISOs contain boot folders so i copied the contents and made a folder efi and added the bootx64.efi and created an Iso from the files and used rufus to burn to usb thumb drive, it boots but it fails with error 0x000000f .

Not working man, FAT32 with GPT not detecting at all while NTFS does detect, but the loading of the installer is stuck at the Windows logo

Was this with BIOS set as Legacy or AHCI?

Heads up folks Shift+F10 diskpart clean erases entire disk. Multiboot partitioning will go for a toss!
Just loading Bootable Windows iso to USB WITH selecting GPT is not enough is it?

What zip manager is used in Linux?

Sorry for the 101 questions but I just wanted to clear some doubts before proceeding.
Note that I tried install Windows 7 with convert to gpt command in diskpart too but that too shows up as msdos partition table not gpt thereby only 4 partitions! So Multiboot Windows 7 Linux OSs stumped for the moment!

What motherboard/CPU was used in the demo? Installing Windows 7 on an Intel LGA1200 CPU socket, ASUS Z490-A MoBo, regardless of BIOS settings, would not work. I appreciate your well-executed demo, though.

This might work for only a very few Windows 7 installation ISOs. For most of them, the files and folders he refers to are already there, and the installation fails with a BCD error. In most cases, the user's time is wasted.

edit : but if i am right it's faster because windows 7 require less power, it's good for having an windows os on old pc without having a cpu going to 100% and 90 degres (intel celeron n4000 for me)

There's no way to choose UEFI & Fat32 format mode when you choose a 7 iso, you can do it just if you make a custom 7 iso before.

Yes, however it overrides Windows 10’s boot scheme and uses the old school Windows 7 white boot text. You can still boot to Windows 10 with it.

This method did not work on my ASUS VivoBook Flip. I either got a secure boot error, or I got an MBR/BIOS boot error. I never even got to enter Windows setup.
Secure boot option and TPM security must be clear and disable. Boot mode UEFI and hard disk partition style must be GPT.
