I just can't help but appreciate the effort Micha's VA put in his character. After all these years of playing the game I'm still amazed by how this character can cause so much hatred over him among the fans. This indicates that the work was done perfectly

Man, Arthur was right about John and his luck. If he wasn't there on that mountain, Charles and Sadie would have most likely still had gotten badly wounded, with no one there to save either of them. They would probably have met them same fate as Arthur, for Arthur, going after the same man.
yeah but if he hadn't been there ross never would have found him, allowing his family to continue on with life without being torn apart by the law in the end. as arthur himself said, run and dont look back, revenge is a fools game

John's RDR2 look bothers me less than his RDR2 walk. He had the coolest looking walk in RDR1, especially while holding his sidearm.

If rdr1 had a remaster
For those who don't know and are wondering why John looks so weird in RDR2 in the epilogue compared to RDR1, due to phenomenal amounts of crunch and the tight deadline, Rockstar didn't have time to make a seperate model for John that would work with all the features Arthur had during the main game, so they instead had to jury-rig a mostly-correct-looking John out of Arthur's character model.
While they probably could've used John's regular model from the story, chances are that would've instead been derided as 'lazy' rather than making a whole new one, since it wouldn't have had other options like customisable hair without potentially breaking something that was best left unbroken lest it make more problems that needed fixing.

Does anyone have a mod to pitch his voice and make it just *slightly* deeper like in rdr2? The higher nails on a chalk board sound was great for the main campaign but John 3 years before RDR1 shouldn’t have been so different from the original game’s depiction of him and with all of the cosmetic improvements, he still sounds like the younger John from the Gang’s days pre TB Arthur
Doubt a mod like that will ever exist. Audio modding isn't easy in rdr 2 from what I understand.
I think Rockstar tried to remake John to make him look better, and they did well in the plans, and we can see this when we look John on the screenshots they made before the game release, but the epilogue version is completely different from the pre-release version.
Why? Probably because his model bugged at some point and they where in short time to release the game, so they messed up a bit and only fixed twice in a very discreetly way.

Could be. I'm not the biggest hater of a few of the changes, like the scar positioning and look. For me it's also very much the fact that they just reused Arthur's body and face shape. Could very well be for the reasons you mentioned 👍
When I see this it reminds me how RDR2 has very detailed morning light and that RDR doesn't that much, but great vid still.

I try to replicate the look as accurately as possible in the base game with the facial hair
And it always feels slightly off, like some parts of his facial hair are highlighted more than the rest

What are all of the mods you use? And does this affect Arthur? I have WhyEm’s catalogue and clothing but I was wanting to get mods that would change John but not Arthur. And I don’t want it to conflict with WhyEm’s mods

I noticed that you are using the promotional image and trailer graphics. Are the nights visible? 🤔 Last time I tried, the nights were way too pitch black, and I couldn't play because of it.
The creator has of yesterday re-released a new version on nexus, so im not sure. But when i was useing the old one, yea it was waay to dark.
I think if you go into "Visualsettings.dat" and search for "moon" you'll finde something called "moonintensity" or something along thoes lines. Increasing the number should make night brighter.

The only thing I don’t like with John in rdr1 is the rifle holder on his back because it makes the back of the weapon stick out more so that like the rdr2 rifle on the back more
I have a question for you, how did you get jmr and enhanced to work with jm 1911? Because when I use jmr and enhanced it shows beta jm head not 1911 head?
Make sure you grab the JMRE merge on the 1911 page. and replace the textures inside the JM R&E folder in your LML.

The funny thing is the people who say John doesn't look similar clearly just don't use the barber for the beard and only the top hair
Because I let John's hair grow out to 7 and cut his beard and he looks really similar with his hat on imo
But the graphics and John's outfit look amazing along with Uncle
He looks decidedly different from his RDR 1 counterpart imo. With no mods that is.

I know this has nothing to do with the video, but I have to get this off my chest somewhere. I see a lot of people saying that John has always had Arthur's body. This, however, is untrue. In 1.00, John has his own body and jawline. His beard also grows slightly different. But his beard is a bit broken, and his body clips through the outfits sometimes. I think Rockstar, instead of fixing these issues properly, just shoved Arthur's features on him and called it a day. Again, I know this is irrelevant to the video. I just felt like venting 😅

That’s not true, his 1.00 body is still Arthur’s but just edited to look like NPC John’s. His headshape and jawline are the exact same on 1.00 to current. The only thing that changed about his face from 1.00 to now is his mustache was bleached and his facial expressions became broken. Apart from that same model just edited to look different

I hate how Micha waddles 5 steps if he's got a gaping hole in his head 😆. I simply use rampage to make any outfit suitable for any weather 👍.
