@@funfzylinder wir haben auch einen seit 2018, mittlerweile 99.000 km drauf gefahren und hat bisher noch nichts gemacht, bremsen vorne sind sehr teuer, da diese sehr groß sind (hingucker). sonst ist alles perfekt und wir lieben das auto

I'm 185cm and icockpit fits perfectly even with seat all the way down and steering wheel halfway down, I see everything. Not to mention it's it's such a fun and engaging design, going back to looking through steering wheel feels like stone age.

@@fahim7465 Je sais, et je suis d'accord avec toi, d'ailleurs Bugatti ne le cache pas mettre le drapeau français sur l'aile ou derrière sur l'aileron. Certes, il avait besoin d'un coup de pouce c'est le groupe VW qui est venu mais moi je m'en fous. Pis a part la boîte, tout est spécifique Bugatti.

Awesome comparisonI Australian here, I love my 308 GTI - now three years old and 50,000kms, I wouldn’t swap for anything! The Pug feels so much more legit after driving a Megane RS.

i own a 308 GTI and i fully agree with the review. The 308 has demons.... Sometimes, just sometimes, you would whisper to her slowly "my dear, please behave for an hour"
And just for this, i wouldn t change it for whatever else.
It’s like the mis-behaved child at school. Many reviewers like to give it criticism for not being calm enough on a challenging road and for it’s quirky interior, but for me, those things are a large part of it’s appeal! If I wanted something sensible, I’d buy a wax jacket. Or a Golf lol
I also have a Peugeot 308 GTi and I wouldn’t change it for the Megane RS. It’s unbelievable how this thing accelerates. So much fun with this car. Just hope Peugeot upgrades the 308, it’s been about time to do it. After the 208 I hope they release a new 308 and of course the GTi version of it.
AHAHAHHA Best comment! I do think Megane is impressive and it was my second choice - but I could not be happier with the GTI. I expected it would under-perform in little street races, but its handling in corners and serious acceleration helps it to out-perform almost everything. Comfortably matches Golf R's, bikes, AMG-45's, i30 N's and other hot hatches. The only big loss i faced was on a straight line with a BMW M5! Absolute beast!

Been driving the 308 gti for 3 years now, it's absolutely perfect in term of synthesis between comfort and performance
Also i never had this feeling of "dangerousness" on highways you describe, i actually find if very secure and not too agile at all ....
Ps: for the rev counter, you seem to have a lot of space to lower the wheel a bit ... I'm 1m86 and have no issue at all ( had a 208 GTi before and also had no issue )
Na at high speed the car gets twitchy and bounces around when at around 120mph/200kph
which ones better 308 or 208?
@@nissanoo0393 as a daily, and for a wider use, 308 is better. But 208 gti is more emotional imo, less performant but more playful and seems more agile.

@@nissanoo0393 i had only one car at the time ( i still do lol ). I used to drive to work everyday the 308 gti and even went to holidays with friends with it ( ski holidays so with the skis in the car ). In that sense it's a great compromise. Also i live in Paris so it was also great to have a car compact enough. it was a leasing so i gave it back after 3 years and now i drive a 208 II with less power.

The 308 is still great for not having updated since its launchingsadly i don't think there will be new petrol peugeot sport anymore
In terms of look the megane is very aggresive but i really don't like the interior, it's the opposite for the peugeot which is nice but a lot more timid

Hey, you need to review the cup version of the Megane RS. :) :)
The basic Megane RS is pretty soft, more of a cruising car with sporty cornering. The Cup would be a better comparison for this 308.
With a soft +25hp ECU remap on the thp270 and a K&n panel filter the 308gti Is a pocket Rocket !!
If you turn on the Sport mode on the 308 you will feel the stearing wheell be adjusted. I know you don't like the artificial sound of the 308 but sport mode is not just the sound and lights in in 308.

5:45 from what I saw this Megane has silver calipers which means it doesn't have CUP package so this car doesn't have torsen LSD

@@wilsonpereira5629 on some GTi‘s there is a problem with the break callipers, they tend to seize due to heavy corrosion caused by the weak chrome coating. The company goodspeed offers a fix for that, they replace the stock callipers with stainless steel

I just bought a 308gti and i drive always mountain road south france rules.... so on highway in flat country just buy v6 deutsch car but for what i have i Can swear you its the best weapon i ever get in hand. So fun and powerful.

The 308 GTi has a huge negative camber at the front wheels. That's why it may be a bit unstable at higher speeds

Exhaust is better on 208 GTI with 208hp engine there isn't intermediate muffler.
I don't why but after 5 years I still prefer the Peugeout! It's really easy to appreciate! Mechanic Torsen for life!
.... combine that with a fizzing engine and a chassis tuned by their motorsport division all in a lightweight package that looks as good as it does then you have a very memorable hot hatch that never gets old!

308 gti only, but now, in 2019 the 308 is old, first model came in 2013 it’s 6 years guys six years, and the megane is a new model
2015 the gti. 2013 the T9 308 was released.
That panoramic roof on the Peugeot is perfect for when you flip the car or for when something falls on your roof.

Tested both, in the exact same colours! The pearl white is special turns loads of heads but the red in stand out. The megane is fantastic in race mode but I got the pug. To be honest a fiesta st is better than both of them. Mk 7 + mk8.
Then why did you get the pug if you feel that the st is better? In what way? I have a gti myself and I do hear fiesta st this and that. But I’ve also heard that 208 gti bps/30th is a better car overall than the st.

@@deepat if you mean that by what you spent on a fiesta for what you got in comparison to the gti for the money. Maybe. But that doesn’t really make it a better car alone. Maybe better money spent (price per smile) I can accept that.
But with out exactly knowing exactly what you mean. It’s like saying the fiesta st is also a better car than an RS3/A45s because it’s cheaper even though it’s not a better a car.
I'll wait for the next gen 308 GTI. Current one is getting outdated. Renault lost it's magic for me. The Megane III RS was a way better car. The French are falling behind at the moment. If I had to choose today, I would go for my i30 N again or for the new Focus ST.
