Wow ... probably the only reaction to Caledonia on YT. Great song and deserves a listen. Long Misty Days is another one that deserves a reaction as it is one of Robin Trower's best songs with James Dewar on vocals.
Saw him 6 times in concert back in the day . . . always been one of my favorite guitarists. I rate him right up there with Hendrix & Clapton. Trower rocks !!!🎸
Trower was phenomenal in his day,... every sound imaginable,... that's Billy Lordon doin' the "one handed dance", on the ride symbol,... and Jimmy Dewar,... bass and vocal's.... in the 70's,.... these guy's were it,... try to listen to ALL of their stuff........
Wow, Caledonia was one of my favorite Trower songs, the muted rhythm playing in this is crazy good. He is still going, I highly reccomend listening to his collaberation with Maxi Preist very recently, Robin Trower, Maxi Preist, Livingstone Brown.
70s hands down was the best decade for guitar jams 🤘🤘🤘 early Judas Priest , Frank Zappa , Jeff Beck , Roy Buchanon etc. Face Melt guitars - Great Reaction 👍
Robin Trower, one of my favourite guitarists! Wonderful vocals too from James Dewar, check out his previous band "Stone the Crows" featuring the amazing Maggie Bell on vocals (often called the Scottish Janis Joplin). My favourite song of theirs is "Raining in Your Heart".
Wilburn,I first saw Robin Trower live in '74,in St.Louis,as an 18 year old, growing up in East St.Louis,Ill.Robin's music has always been compared to Jimi's and he for sure was influenced by the man! The RTB consisted of then Robin on guitar,James Dewar on bass and vocals, and Bill Lordan on drums, the best lineup of this awesome band,I've seen them 7 times and after the 1st time they changed my love for music in a very big and good way. Thanks for this video,I am now hooked on you and have subbed your channel.Peace my brother👍🏻✌🏻🎸
Hit the wah wah,robin..so underrated..and James dewar on vocals..can a white boy sing the blues..there’s a theme from shaft vibe..ty for understanding,man..Wilburn.try bridge of sighs
Thank You for listening to Robin Trower , his best concert is Winterland 1975 . Could you Please listen to Jimi Hendrix Play Hear My Train a Comin Berkely California May 1970 . It's his best version of this song . Happy New Year . Yngwie Malmsteen live at Leningrad . Far Beyond The Sun . 🇺🇸💥💫🎸🇨🇦🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖
Both Stevie Ray and Robin Trower were big Hendrix fans. Enough time had passed since Jimi's death that Stevie was appreciated, but the critics of the day thought Trower was just ripping off Hendrix. I like the whisky soaked vocals of Hannah or Long Misty Days
About 1989 my work colleague and I were chatting about music: I said I was a HUGE Trower fan. He very passionately said he effing HATED RT. Both RT and Mark lived in an English county called Essex and I asked if RT and he were neighbours and RT had a cat that came and cr*pped in his garden. 'No, he's just a Hendrix copy'. After admitting he hadn't heard ANY of the music and his opinion was from the music press I lent him a cassette with the first three albums on it. 'FAN BL**DY TASTIC' was his reply when he returned it to me. Yes, influences but no NOT a copy. The same tired false accusations still around 20 odd years later when I had a chance conv with two guys on a train who were talking music. So sad.
Congrats on finding a really deep and great cut. Trower & James Dewar doing some really funky stuff. My mom loved this song, and she grew up loving Ray Charles. It's awesome. You should dig in, Fool and Me, Little Bit of Sympathy, Somebody Calling, on and on ....
Love James Dewar. My fave blues guitarists are (in no particular order) Clapton, Gary Moores, Stevie Ray and Robin Trower, so love to hear someone listening to him
One of my favorite artists. Robin is a great guitar player, and the late Jimmy Dewar was a wonderful singer and bass player. I have signed drumsticks from Bill Lordan, the Drummer who also played for Gypsy and Sly and the Family Stone. So glad to see there is someone reacting to the great music from this band.
Helene here.....TOO ROLLING STONED..........PLEASE!!! Bridge of Sighs is the album to go to. Trower was very much influenced by Jimmy Hendrix, and after we all lost Hendrix, if you wanted that sound, you went to Trower.....I least I did....Bridge of Sighs isn’t as “funky” as this....more spacey.....I’ve never heard this cut before. It’s good.....the guitar sound and technique here reminds me of Page.
This afternoon I watched a segment on the top 20 most-in-demand albums right now. I don’t know if this is just “collectors”....or the general public. I think it’s the public because these albums are not rare. This year. The top ten....in 2020....Nirvana is number ten. The other nine are either by The Beatles, Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd! In the top 20, five are by the Beatles, four by Zeppelin, and three by Pink Floyd. That’s 12 out of the 20. No other group had more than one album in the top 20. And of course, those three bands were from the sixties and seventies. That really WAS the golden age for music....and I’m not just saying that ‘cause I’m old. I love allot of modern bands. But the retail sales numbers don’t lie.....
Here's a couple suggestions to see Trower's range of style.... (Title - Album) Little Girl - Caravan to Midnight In City Dreams - In City Dreams It's About To Begin - Bridge of Sighs Hannah - Twice Removed From Yesterday Wish You Were Mine - What Lies Beneath As You Watch Each City Fall Pts. 1&2 - What Lies Beneath That'll give ya a rudimentary example of Trower. Not Hendrix - though influenced Not Stevie Ray Vaughn -though SRV told me he would love to do a jam session with Robin (decades ago just before SRV was called to a greater audience) when I bartended for SRV a short while before he went home Vic
Bridge of sighs and too rolling stoned are excellent songs, but they are longer, slower arranged, best for the couch, if you want to bounce off the walls, Caledonia is one of his best fast ,short songs ,but totally different, good bands like this can do both and then some, peace brother☮️💟🔊
I was sure that someone would of done the boring trivia bit already but no you leave it for me. So Caledonia is the name the Romans gave to Scotland and the name has been used in hundreds of songs for many years.
I watch a lot of reaction videos but I have never seen Frank Marino one of the best and under rated guitar player.. his band is Mahogany Rush the song is Land of a 1000 nights.
OK...if you love this, you will love the band Santana. Have you done any by them? OK....I see that you’ve done one by Santana. I also see that someone suggested the song Soul Sacrifice...Live....either Woodstock or Tanglewood. I just watched the Tanglewood one. Since you love drums and percussion, I would suggest you watch that one......extended drum and percussion solos.......It’s night, and there’s a full moon...and the crowd is just ecstatic .
Awesome reaction, but the picture was distracting because Robin Trower is a righty, not a lefty, not your fault of course just a negative flip at the record company so it LOOKED better, not right.
Ooooh shit, love me some Trower. Bridge of sighs is one of the best albums by Robin Trower. Every song is gold.
Wow ... probably the only reaction to Caledonia on YT. Great song and deserves a listen. Long Misty Days is another one that deserves a reaction as it is one of Robin Trower's best songs with James Dewar on vocals.
ROBIN TROWER Two rollin Stones!!!! You will so dig it!!!
Robin Trower made me want to play, and 45+ years later, he still inspires.
Yes, More Trower please.
For those who think and wonder...his name is James Dewar on bass and vocals .
One of my favourite guitarists.
Saw him 6 times in concert back in the day . . . always been one of my favorite guitarists. I rate him right up there with Hendrix & Clapton. Trower rocks !!!🎸
Any Trower is good Trower. Too Rolling Stoned
One of my very favorites every time we went hunting or fishing we listen to Robin Trower on the way there and back
Being an old Rocker I'm pleased to know that a young man like yourself has an appreciation for real talent. Thanks Man!
The late Jim Dewar; brilliant vocalist. Try the live version of ‘Daydream’…
Trower was phenomenal in his day,... every sound imaginable,... that's Billy Lordon doin' the "one handed dance", on the ride symbol,... and Jimmy Dewar,... bass and vocal's.... in the 70's,.... these guy's were it,... try to listen to ALL of their stuff........

I forget the name of their album, but it's killer!
One of my favorite Trower songs of all time. Check out the whole Twice Removed From Yesterday album.

The only thing bad about this song is it's too short! My favorite Trower song!
Robin Trower, one of my favourite guitarists!

Great reaction. YOU made me happy.
Trower is a guitar God, James Dewar was the bomb, passionate and melodic. Check out Daydream live! Perfect reaction!
"Too Rolling Stoned", from Bridge of Sighs. Trower's best.

@@glennw.4570 Thanks for that link!
Overplayed on the radio and hardly his best.
Caledonia is good, but Bridge of Sighs is the song and album to listen to, by far. You haven't heard Robin Trower until you hear that.
Trower's finest, and he's written some good toons!
Love this song...My first concert!!
no suprise anyone would still like this....its great..trower is great...enough said

Bridge of Sighs has a different sound for sure, but I love how he's so great at so many types.

Day Of The Eagle. He used to be called the white Jimi Hendrix then SRV got popular
The singer was different for a heavy band, more R&B even. James Dewar was a favourite of Rod Stewart.
Lisa Dewar , his daughter use to e mail me
Check out Pat Travers, Snorting Whiskey, Boom Boom Out goes the lights.
Robin grower was what Santana wishes he was on guiy
