Why don't you do a story on why the Government appoints people to be over the FMCSA that have ZERO experience in trucking. That has never driven a truck or never even been in a truck.
No OTR shortage
Some how I don’t believe the Tu Simple company guy when he says this technology is not gonna be used to take the place of truck drivers. If people think big corporations won’t use this technology to run trucks around the clock all the while not having to pay for the expense of a driver, they are clueless to the greed of big corporations
Why don't they test drive them in Atlanta, GA? Let's see how that work out!
They won't work.
They should test the driverless system on one of those "World's deadliest" roads?
Lmao This the most dangerous crap I’ve ever seen.
Hell yea Tessa still has there cars still hitting people.
They create the problem "truck shortages due to high fuel price" and then they bring in the solution "autonomous trucks".
All good until something bad happens. There’s no way I’d ever trust a damn robot, Machines or auto anything especially on the road
The drivers on the road nowadays are bad enough (especially the younger ones). But this?? Are they Fng kidding? It does fit their agenda to take away jobs so that everyone is dependent on the gov though, so it makes sense in that regard.
Why not show it backing up on a dock.
Why should you? Can have people do that part if the truck does the multiple day driving
All lies they're taking away Owner operator jobs There is no trucker shortage
Keep on building, keep on killing jobs, the hackers will come and they will be done!!!!
As long as it can be override manually. Computers, electronics break down, have glitches and need constant maintenance. Trucks are always breaking down because of the expense of maintenance.
From command center probably
Yea what they save on drivers will be doubled in maintenance. Course they do have one valid point: drivers have to sleep, computers dont- they just crash.
Soon you won’t need override, commercial autonomy is step 2, consumer autonomy is step 1. Very soon most EV’s will be autonomous. Soon after legislation will realize machine is safer than human. Human driving will be eliminated. Roads cleared of human mistakes, roads filled with autonomous vehicles, then commercial trucking. We need to eliminate humans from the road before we can reach full pipeline autonomy. It is safer for all of humanity.
@@usefulprogrammer9880 lol cant wait to see it. Unfortunately, Ill probably be dead? Probably get run over by an autonomous/auto pilot vehicle? Like the one in Fla. yesterday- killed 2. Ran into the back of a Walmart truck. The Walmart Truck was sitting still in a rest area. Old auto-pilot car thought it could push it I guess? Humans program computers. Humans will Never be perfect- neither will anything they work on.
Dangerous. No reason to get rid of employees.
Well hours are cut
Quick simple question. If there is a driver shortage, why in the flying f*ck can I not find a place to park after 4pm?
My question is if machines are going to do everything that we humans do so what are we humans going to do then????i don’t know if somebody can understand my point. This is ridiculous.
@Smirks Check Dall E 2, artists are bullshit
As a driver I'm so excited about not having a job in the future....
I can’t believe she actually believed that guy when he said autonomous trucks wouldn’t force drivers out of the industry. What a crock of shit.
Who is filling the gas
I'm not sure about driverless trucks. I fear it will replace drivers. How about paying them better so there wont be a driver shortage. Trusting technology in driving big rigs? I still want to drive a truck. I still dont feel comfortable about it.
Make some driverless tank drivers while your at it
Lmfao right! Don’t forget to make sure they’re hazmat loads too! Lol
We need to stop this, driver less trucking, it's very un save and it will destroy alot of worker's.
This will be mainly used for shuttle and distribution centers. Theres no way on gods earth this will work for smaller companies in the heart of brooklyn, newark nj, and even rural areas around places like this. Not to mention the gymnastics you have to do to get into these horribly positioned docks. Not to mention places you have to turn and cross both sides of the street to back up into docks. This is good for a run on i80 going from a walmart distribution center to another. Thats all
Dude 30 years ago the thought of a cellphone being able to do what it does was impossible. Those smart guys made it happen! This technology is gonna work. It be wise to stack your money and alternative money flow ideas. These big billion dollar companies have been finding ways to get rid of the middle class for the longest.
@@henrywashington4212 i disagree. There are things only humans can do. And those situations arrive in small major cities often in trucking. Overall i could careless. Im already phasing out. But still doesnt change the situation. In places where you have to take turns using 2 lanes like brooklyn. This isnt going to work. Even cell phones still have their limits.
@@Alpha_apex Bro check out Dall E 2, it is a AI that can paint anything with a single promt. And the result is better than what most artists would do.
@@alexcasanova15 yea thats cool and all. But i dont think we can compare that to a 80k lb 60 foot vehicle driving with unpredictable and A hole drivers. Did you watch that video on "asian mai" channel of that autonomous one almost killing the dudes driving? If not go check it out.
They’ve already started moving freight from Dallas to Atlanta. Kodiak partnered up with loves and pilot to make some of their truck stops a hub for autonomous truck pick/drops. It’s fked but they are investing millions to make this happens.
That's your definition of normal
I find this interesting for 2 reasons. 1. If the self driving trucks actually work, the drivers are going to be gone. Companies don't value employees, they view them as expense despite making profit. This is one of the downsides of companies being public vs private. While a private company can be run the same way, whether it is or is not depends on the person who actually owns it and not a corporate board who only cares about their share price. 2. This comes out on the same day that a few of the news outlets are shining light on more women becoming truckers and making good money. One could twist the story about who these budding drivers are emerging into a profession that is actively being targeted for replacement.
Human drivers will still be needed but not for long haul. They are working on a hub to hub system where the AI drives the truck on the highway from one hub to another but a human will take over at the hub and ride in the truck till it gets to its final destination and once it is unloaded they will pilot it back to the hub.
I'm a trucker I hate driving is this gonna park you turn fuel itself dock it connect trailer?
Even if driverless trucking becomes a reality, it will only take one accident where a child is killed for the public to cry out 'Think of the children' and demand a person be inside the cab at all times. The tech might be here already, but the politics won't be here for some time to come.
These people don’t care about Common folks they don’t care about somebody’s child that gets killed it’s about money power and greed about controlling the world 🌎
100% agree with this statement!!
Not really people don't have empathy for hurt people
Who are the companies going to blame accidents on,if they don't have a driver to point the finger at?
The future should be zero emissions truck not driverless
Hell no
Wow an hour! That's a long drive
They should get computers to take news makers jobs Also.
We have robots building cars, making buildings, now driving, looks like all jobs are going to be taking over by machines so what the regular people that do this jobs are we going to do?
Nothing. We're going to be paid to do nothing and we're going to be forced to eat bugs.
Fix the robots
I bet she don't have a self driving car but she trust an driveless 18 wheeler
My question is what we humans are going to do for a living when machines do most of the jobs usually humans do?
It will be a future where everything will be automated and the goal is to drain everyone’s pocket of their money because there is no more jobs available for humans it will be all working machines for MAXIMUM PROFITABILITY and zero employees to compensate for, only CEO, management and tech support to run the entire operation
Increase the homeless population
so in germany u get money for a living if u have no job
Just to put people out of work. Smfh
I wonder if the computer system in the truck can be hacked
Why didnt she ride in it by herself without those drivers.
They made it impossible to make money doing it
The future of trucking, firefighting and so on.....yup I see homeless people on the rise in the next 10 years....I was in Phoenix 20 years ago, I returned last year delivering....the place is not a absolute shit hole....there isn't a stop light out there with out someone begging....there is NO truck driver shortages like the media states....there is a shortage of drivers with companies who pay very little...
😂😂😂😂I been driving over a decade and I'm telling you watch and see the f up your computers does that's what's wrong with the world they're putting too much trust in computers and not enough in God
Faith in God’s truck using computers to run, but not in computers doing the driving?
God does not intervene
Ok great now tell it to go into NYC or deliver into a Hialeah warehouse. Good luck lmao
If I get hit by one of these trucks TUSimple better open that check book!!! Ahohah my back, my neck!
Good.
Maybe because you don't have to feed your family from working as a truck driver you 🤡
How bout the snow
If it suceed it reduce cost in most product and less hard work for driver by put dedicated computer record truck best routine and manuever and incorporate with anticolision sensor update on traffic to keep safety
Drivers we are at war, proceed accordingly.
Doesn't this hurt truck driving workers? You can't pay this hard working people if they don't have a job.
There are 100k+ unfilled truck driving jobs out there, people don’t want to work long hours and not get paid enough for it.
@@Xckel13 Then we should pay truckers more since they're basically the back bone that keeps the country flowing by delivering products to multiple stores, carrying dangerous stuff like oil, logs, pipes, etc. I'm not saying their aren't lazy truckers but it would be better to pay them more.
@@Xckel13 if the pay was significantly higher I'm sure more people would be signing up. I'm talking like double what they're making right now.
@@Xckel13 myth pure myth. There is no shortage of cdl holders. There is a shortage of companies willing to pay well enough to keep drivers.
@@Xckel13 That's false
We have 2 new technologies which are converging at the same time.
Selfdriving & electric. Its a brave new world.
!
I'm out a job soon
Just like the cold industry, now trucking is going down the drain because of "technology ". I think is more of individual seeing where they can profit 📈 without caring of our worker and economy. Trucking has already gone down the drain. What I'm I supposed to purchase one of this truck and seat at home!!!!
This is going to be a good movie 🎬 tesla's is the car off tomorrow but I see them in the scrapyard it can drive while you sleep but I see it in the ditch an it's not going off road in the pool I am going to say this is going to be maham
Body count waiting to happen
This clown said it can drive for 14 hours lol don't railroad already provide that service I forgot they don't want pay . Plus u have team drivers that can deliver in 14 hours oh o forgot they don't want to pay
in short if it was the wild west then we would have a self-driving cars buses and trucks out on the road all over the country right now but there are states getting in the way of it happening just because they don't know what to do with all the people out of work that's the problem not that they can't do it. the government is getting in the way because of that. if this tech was allowed in every part of are society fast food jobs would be middle class because we would not need but half the workforce with less and less until we just needed back up people there if it brakes if you have seen people out on the streets homeless all over the country think that but ten times as bad would be the result the government has to be in full panic mode right now is what I'm thinking because all they seem to have is lets play it by ear and see how it goes with company's lobbying to get it done. the states and local governments are trying to fight off another Great Depression because of this in the end the companies will win probably with a Universal basic income compromised to be signed into law. that conversation you can imagine is very sticky right now because the tech as just got here and we don't have all the full uses of it ready yet this means if there are not enough jobs taken away then the Universal basic income will not be enough to live off of so its a real push and pull situation
So basically we are headed towards the reality of the WALL-E movie and we're all going to be paid to get fat all day.
There goes the truckers jobs
This clown said it can drive for 14 hours lol don't railroad already provide that service I forgot they don't want pay . Plus u have team drivers that can deliver in 14 hours oh o forgot they don't want to pay
