I haven't seen JW play harp that's refreshing. He got some harmonica chops . No surprise. As a long time fan, it is cool to see the viddy of him fiddling and switching harps to find his key... sigh. Miss you JW
For me, a hippy type kid in the early 70s it was hendix, johhny winter and Santana with some duane and terry Kath that was my guitar world. Still love those genius guys. This is a fantastic clip of a young johnny.
All of the guitars that he had in the rental house in Staatsburg, N.Y. were stolen while they were on tour.... ...according to a coversation that I had with Johnny back in the mid 1970s.
I think until sometime in spring. When he bought the sunburst '64 Firebird V from me, on 7/31/70, he was well into tearin' up live with the McCoys band. Randy Zehringer had left the group, & Bobby Caldwell was on drums. One of the BEST shows that I have ever seen!
Yeah he was in transition in mid 1970 from the Shannon/Turner band into Johnny Winter And w/ Derringer, his brother Randy Z, and Randy Jo Hobbs. He was kind of pushed into that decision by the record company and management.
I m iss you Johnny.....you will go down in history. You will never be forgotten. I'm playing your music for my Grand kids and they love it too!!!

Not sue what Mr. Frenchman is saying at 1:55 and throughout the film burt I wish he would have kept it to himself. Damn!
Classy response.
what he said is: unknow two years ago,Johnny Winter turned a huge blues star, earning big royalties
Very cool. Love him and Jimi. Kinda like how Hendrix played catfish blues.
The cover of ‘progressive blues experiment’!! Where this comes from on lp, liberty records.. my favorite lp by him.. several shots of the National
Yeah, but the shots were all reversed, and Johnny never got a dime from "Experiment...
Tommy Shannon played with the best
