Wishing all my subscribers and viewers a safe, happy and prosperous New Year. Thank you all very much for watching throughout 2022, I appreciate your kind support 🎉🙏
I have had mine for a year now, it arrived on 3rd January 2022, like you I ordered the lens as soon as it was announced and credit to my dealer they phoned me pre Christmas to say it was in but as I was away over the festivities I waited until the new year to take delivery. The 24-120 is without doubt a stunning lens, I have had absolutely no issues with its operation at all, it lives almost permanently on the front of my Z7 and together they are a perfect combination. One of Nikon's best IMHO.
Thanks for watching. Glad to hear you got the lens. You have to get in quick nowadays. Ticked all the boxes for me when I saw it at the Z9 launch. Thanks for commenting 👍🙏
Thanks for watching Richard. Hope you have an awesome 2023 mate and look forward to seeing your amazing astro adventures this year here on RUclips, cheers 🎉🙏
I recently bought this lens, and it's now the lens I take out everywhere I go. (Other than for sports and wildlife) It really is more than worth the money.
Great year review of your lens Adrian, you took some great shots, videos and some amazing locations. Many thanks for sharing your thoughts on the lens. Happy New Year 🎊 to you and your family. Look forward to your work in 2023 🎉
Randy Bocksnick--Mont) I bought Z6II on Dec 29-2020 and I still really enjoy it! In 2 years I have 3 lenses- 24-70 2.8s-- 50mm 1.8s-- and just bought the 100-400/4.5-5.6s love it and now I want to get Z 24-120 F 4S! Loved your video about this lense,!
That is a great range, 24-120. I just recently purchased the Canon RF 24-105 F/4 L IS USM and I must admit, I'm a little jealous of that extra 15mm you have. I was very surprised when Thomas Heaton said he had sharpness problems with his copy of this lens. I'm relieved that you are not having these problems. Thomas must have gotten a bad copy. He also had sharpness problems with the Fujifilm 18-55 f/2.8-4 kit lens. I loved that lens and it's the main thing I miss about selling all my Fujifilm gear. Maybe his sharpness problems with these two great lenses are caused by operator error! LOL I enjoyed this review just like I do all of your videos. Have a great new year! See you in 2023.
Thanks for watching Phil. It's been such a great lens for me. Awesome for just walking around and travelling. If I did my Europe trip that I did many years ago today. I'd just have the Z7 and this lens and that's all I'd need I think. Have a great 2023 mate, take care and happy shooting 🎉📸
Hi Adrian. It was largely due to your earlier review of this lens that I part-exed my 24-70 f/4 S lens for this one. Well, I'd like to thank you for the heads up - this 24-120 is a cracker and is now permanently fixed to my Z7ii. Incidentally, I also got the Tamron 70-300mm Z mount in place of my Nikon 24-200 - again based on your favourable review. So far, watching your videos has enabled me to upgrade my photography no end, so thanks again. Keep up the great reviews and a Happy New Year to you.
Thanks so much for watching Alan. I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos. I do love reviewing gear. Really happy to hear you're enjoying the lenses. Have a great 2023 and take care. Happy shooting 🙏🎉📸
Thanks for all your videos. I love this lens, too. I could not get it until May 2022, but now it is always on my Z7. I bought the Z7 for landscapes only and originally got the 14-30 F4 Z mount and the 80-400 used from KEH. I agree with you completely that this combination of lenses on the Z7 can't be beat. They are always in my backpack along with the DJI Air2s. If I can't get the job done with this combo, It can't be done. Oh yes, I do occasionally carry the Osmo Action on a Hohem iSteady 4Pro.
Hey Adrian! Thanks for this nice video ❤. I absolutely agree with all you mentioned. It is the lens I mostly grap for a random hike and shoot with my Z6ii or Z7ii. Happy new year 🎊 🎉 and may all your wished for 2023 come true!!!
How cool is that new opener to the video! Love it. Awesome that you are still happy with this lens. The results from it are really impressive. Sounds like it's a must have in the kit, if you can get it!
I own the lens and like you like it a lot. I actually bought it through Nikon rather than our local retail store. It seems to be the new way to purchase the glass and accessories we all require. I do have a hard time deciding between this lens and the 24-200 when I go and shoot. I mostly take this lens, and am not disappointed.
Happy New Year Cliff from here in Australia. Glad you liked the new intro. I learn lots from your B&W images mate, love them. Take care and happy shooting this year, cheers 🎉📸
I totally echo your thoughts on this lens. The vast majority of my photos last year were shot with it. Combined with the 14-30 F4 and my recent acquisition of the Z 100-400 to replace my F-mount Sigma, I totally content with my kit!
Thanks very much for watching Chris. That's an awesome kit you have there. You're covered well and truly for everything that you want to photograph with those 3 lenses out in nature. Have a great New Year, cheers 🎉📸🙏
@@dicekolev5360 I shoot 90% landscape so F4 isn’t quite as large a concern. I’m conscious of weight since I hike a lot with my gear. I do have the 35mm and 20mm F1.8 primes for those occasions when I need a faster lens, like Astro or indoors.
The Z24-120mm F4S is my second Z lens, my first was the 14-24mm. And I could not agree with you more about the 24-120mm it's an excellent lens, and my most used. Now I am in the process of contemplating changing up my 800mm and pondering on my 180-400mm and when Nikon will release a med super telephoto. Be well, Namaste, Blain in Japan
Hi Adrian, You took all the words out of my mouth, this lens is fantastic, I also was lucky over here in Scotland, that I had pre-ordered it early and got one of the first batches. It is wonderfully sharp and contrasty, I have compared it to one of the sharpest Z lenses the Z 50mm 1.8s and once you hit 5.6-11 the difference would be pixel peeping and negligible. As you mentioned it is excellent value and cheaper than the F mount version and is just so much better.
Looks a great lens Adrian and something that I have to look for in the Sony range. Its really great to have a lens you can take out and will give you a chance at most shots in one lens and camera setup.👍
Cheers for watching Scott. I know Sony make that 24-105mm. Heard good reviews on it. I was looking at getting that lens at one stage when I was considering buying the A7RIV. Have a great weekend mate, cheers 🍻 🙏
My G version of this lens doesn't have zoom creep; I don't what these people are talking about.! 😃 Glad to hear that the Zed version is an excellent lens!

Mine finally arrived late last year here in the UK. I know its still hard to get in some places. Due to bad knee not had chance to take it out too much yet, but what I have used it for looks fantastic. Really impressed with the close up capabilities. You wouldn't think it was an f4. I do find the auto focus, despite having 2 motors, can search quite a bit in lowish light and, even worse, seems to zoom all the way out before coming back to where I was to focus. I hope this lens gets a future update through the Z6 to address this. Maybe I should check my settings too. I find if I press 'back button focus' once very lightly it grabs focus right away, which is great. But if I hold my finger on the back AF button for any length of time the focus does seem to go in and out and hunt. Sometimes only slightly and other times to the focus limit and back again...very odd. At least I've found a technique which works for now. Any suggestions? Maybe I should leave the continuous focus mode and go back to single point autofocus...but then no quick switch to use face detection I guess.

Excellent video. I own the 24-200 Z lens and really like it. I also own the 24-120 F4 F mount version of this lens. I love the way it renders images. I keep thinking about adding this version to my kit. I have a 150-600 Sigma Contemporary that can grab awesome still photos but hunts in focus for video. So I will probably buy the new 180-600 Nikon lens first. Darn it is tempting… I also have the original 24-70 F4 that came with my Z6 MKII. I now have a Z9. I sold the Z6 MKII and kept the kit lens so that makes it even harder to justify. I really do not like the 24-70!!!
