Hello Morgan family. I enjoyed the auction walkabout Mike. I am curious about one thing, have you ever operated one of the "micro" excavators? Three years ago I purchased an Agro Tek 1.2 it came with A Kubota engine (yes way) it has a Kubota D722. Purrs like a kitten. The excavator has been a real asset. We have put 650+/- hrs on it and the only real repair was to replace a drive motor. Parts are not a problem they have them in Chicago or Dallas. You are correct they are great for replacing a shovel. Right now mine is under a house digging out for a 800 sqft wine cellar. Super handy. My unit has the expanding tracks that adjust from 38" wide to 46" wide that helps stabilize the machine. Thanks for all the great videos, it is great to see what other like minded people are doing all over this great country of ours.God Bless America and God bless the Morgan family.
Forklift sparked your interest I see, Matt from Diesel Creek channel bought a few at auction for resale. He is in same state as you are. Perfect for the building and moving lumber around indoors
I seen lots of people put a hole in a fork for a hitch ball with a pin so it’s easily removed and you don’t need a dedicated attachment for moving trailers
Mike those trailer mover adapters are for skid steers and mini skids the inner holes on the attachment plate are for the mini skid the outer holes are for the Kubota you have they make them that if you have both pieces of equipment you can use the same adapter plate
Massy is respectable. I have the 2850M W/cab. It's been an excellent tractor for my needs. We mow and maintain our gravel. Massy's price point when compared to Green and Orange isn't bad. I'd say a step about the budget brands.
Mike those remote mowers are for areas that are not conducive to sending an operator on. Steep slopes or maybe even wet area is where they would shine.
i actually have one of those remote mowers... (sent to me for free for me to test with a container of bush hog mowers)... i have tested it on steep slopes unable to safely mow. For what it was designed for, that work good.
I believe those trailer hitch adaptors would work on your mini skid also. We have Bobcat S650 and a MT85 and we can use the trailer adaptor on both. As long as that top lip goes all the way across and there’s a 2nd set of holes on the bottom, it should work 22:52
I bought one of the mini skids at a auction near my house . I have a big JD skidsteer and a Komatsu mini excavator but the mini skidsteer is useful and easy to get on and off of. Your Vermeer is probably worth 10 times as much as the china ones and I would love to have one like that but I didn't have that much to spend .
we call that "The Rogers Mall". It is fun when you travel as I am from the general area and often see landmarks that I know of. Wasn't sure if you crossed the Eastvale Bridge or not but Rogers I definitely know. When I had a more flexible work schedule we used to go there on Fridays for their Flea Market.
Those mini skids have their place I've run 2 bobcat mt100s but man the second I was able to use the cat 289 again I RAN for it lol they are jumpy little buggers
Also I don't understand the fascination with these throw away Chinese mini ex's , people are buying them left and right because they are inexpensive but for what you could accomplish by renting a real mini ex with heat/ac and way more power how is it worth it ? I get it you can work as you please a little at a time after work and stuff as long as it is running I guess right ?
It's like you're at my auction here near my house. They're still in the exact same stuff. They even have the same shipping containers. They don't even change the pictures from auction to auction.
Amazon will get you whatever you need for these machines none of this stuff is proprietary as opposed to modern name brand machines where they won't even try to help you without a Vin or serial #
It’ll be interesting to see how the bucket you purchased last use it cautiously not worth tearing up your equipment or hurting yourself over saving a few bucks
I've been to couple of those auctions and bought some small items but when it comes to attachments & equipment that stuff is not for me. You are right you pay for what you get!.
Quick search, I see shipping from China to US at less than $5000 per container. Plus whatever it costs you to get them from port to final destination. On Alibaba those mini skidsteers could be under $2,500 in quantities of 50 or more. As I'm writing this, there's another of these auctions running other side of the state from you in Clifford Township. My guess is someone's worked out a deal in China, keeping a couple of these factories busy for a few months at a time, got the initial cost way down, and packed those containers tight. They probably work it out to break even when they move 1/3 to 1/2 of the goods. More risk than I'd care to take but good margins if you don't mind selling junk to unsuspecting buyers.
Another thing to consider is duty tax. I’m currently importing something that cost $5k and homeland security demanded $1k, plus another $500 in paperwork fees for the privilege of owning it.
I can get the mini skids or excavators out of guandong china for 1800-3200 depending on what weight, they make 4 different sizes, 0.5t, 0.8t, 1.0t and 1.5t. I have to buy a minimum of 50 units . Those can be stacked inside the storage containers which is why you see many with the frames intact. All in with shipping, my cost per unit would be around 2300-3700 shipped and delivered to the port in chicago. I know two dealers who bought 500 units and use ritchie brothers and a few other auction houses. These never make it to actual dealers, they are meant to flood the auction market.
I bought a new bucket for my PC60-6 excavator. I bent it the very first time using it. I ended up rehabbing the original bucket and never looked back. Lesson learned.
The problem people do no understand about most of those items. Look at the components it's made of. Most are generic name brand parts, but people do not seem to realize that. On mini skids you have compare size to size.
I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers here but I bought a Land Pride skid steer bucket for my Kubota SVL and it was about 4 times as much as one of them cheap buckets. Not saying those buckets are junk they still have a place and a use but the oldest saying "You get what you Pay for".
My buddy watches his job site in the oil patch .he is a supervisor for Manitou cranes.they find the shackles or chains they cut them up and throw them in scrap bin .Said they aren't safe
Love my mini/micro Chinese excavator, I've got a wopping 30 trouble free hours. Basically they are built very similar to a log splitter, not a whole lot to go wrong.
I surprised you made it all the way home. The trailer you used is not rated for a 2 ton load. Always have your bucket facing downhill and close to the ground to stabilize your decent.
retired here in westport wa.state. i worked in septic fora long time. for my self. owned a yanmar b twelve for ever. if i needed anything bigger. i rented it. one of the only things i wished i would have had was a small front loader. skid steers make a mess.. gravel into the trenches would have be easy ear.
This looks the exact same as the local auction in central PA. Even at 4-5 k that mini hoes and mini skids seem overpriced to me......if they were 1/2 that price they may be worth the headache. I'll stick to name brand equipment. I will admit I have a set of Chinese forks for my skid loader and they are functional for my needs. I'll take the leap on Chinese items which are basic steel like forks, hitch adapter, or fixed bucket.
Everyone that calls these junk should consider, the same manufacturer built half the parts on their Ford,Harley, and everything else you own with an engine.
No disrespect, but mike you act as though you have it going on. I love what your doing, spent many a day using the dynamite that you used blowing chocker holes to get the logs out.😊
GOOOOOOD MORNING TO ALL MY FELLOW OWTM’s FANS/FOLLOWERS FROM A HOT 🥵 & HUMID VIRGINIA BEACH!!!!…. Mike, thanks for bringing us along… I sure wish I lived closer to that auction but then again maybe I’m glad I don’t.😂 Having a day! HELLOOOO HUNTER 😊
Morning Morgan's I have to say you are right about the Chinese equipment but the prices I have seen on them is high they won't a lot for them yuppies down here are buying them up thinking they have a great people who have never ran anything before but they are finding out that no one will work on them when they're not working but I don't think they're be one on my farm ever, God Bless Y'all and have a great day 🙏👍
I look at a person needing a engine for a old truck, a large truck is what I refer to and see a gen set for that price. The copper gen set portion would bring enough for scrap to pay shipping and the fellow buying a engine thats repairable is a good deal. I did used to go to auctions many years ago when the navy put up auctions and did very well. I bought a container without looking inside as it was locked up. I got that container for a very very good price and it did meet my needs. Inside of this container was a huge surprise as it was full of a couple different home furniture. The people who are relocated of the base and went somewhere else most likely bought all this new furniture on a payment plan but once it is on military base, the seller lost everything and it did furnish a couple rentals I had with very high quality furniture that was a huge bonus for me. I was in the army and knew how things worked. I went on one auction where boxes of stuff marked tools and got three for almost cheaper than scrap price. At that time was not a lot of money. Inside was all snap on tools but the military number system marks. Snap on still honored their tools if broken or unusable.
Hi Mike. I agree Mike. The Massey tractor looks great. However. After you showed your Kubota excavator & skid loader. No Chinese excavator & skid loader for me.😑😑😑👎👎👎 Thanks Mike. Say Hi to Melissa, Eva, John ,Hunter, Tyler, & Hannah. 🥰😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
When you don’t have money but work hard you can get some work done with one of these. It’s all about working within your budget.

Good morning y'all !!! Hope you have a great day, and hello from British Columbia.
That Massey Ferguson tractor was a steal of a deal for whomever bought it I hope your having a great day
I appreciate going to the auction on video and with your observations and commentary.
Thank you.
I seen lots of people put a hole in a fork for a hitch ball with a pin so it’s easily removed and you don’t need a dedicated attachment for moving trailers
Hi Mike,
One thing your Vermeer will have that those other mini skids won't is after sale service.
And it WILL start the 3rd time they try😂😂
Mike those trailer mover adapters are for skid steers and mini skids the inner holes on the attachment plate are for the mini skid the outer holes are for the Kubota you have they make them that if you have both pieces of equipment you can use the same adapter plate
Them attachments went cheap might have to check out a action. That was definitely a steal on that massy tractor. Keep up the good work.
The mini / micro - equipment really shines a light on the power that hydraulic’s truly have. Far from old cable equipment.
Thank you and especially for going over the sold prices.
Always love a good auction
