    Y’all really don’t understand how important Frenkie is to Barca. Those who truly understand football know Frenkie is one of the best midfielders in the world rn. Not even Rodri is as press resistant as Frenkie. There’s a reason we always look for him when playing out of the back. For a player like Frenkie, stats don’t matter but of course that all that most of you look at nowadays.

      Thing is what is frenkie best position this has been the problem since we signed him for huge money and he has not proved his worth that money by the way if an offer come for him sell him I mean we clearly wanted to in 2021 and now he is injury prone if that means we sacrifice de jong for a top defensive midfielder why not

      Frenkie isn't even close to Rodri. Rodri is way more versatile and teams fear him. He is the core of Spain and City. Frenkie can be easily replaced by a single pivot DM as we have plenty of great midfield options like Gavi, Pedri and Gundo.

  • @SalA-ek6pd

    Frenkie's ball progression differs from other players because of his higher press resistance as a lone player. He also progresses the ball directly from the goalkeeper and bring the ball forth to the midfield or attackers. This is not something that Olmo, Nico, or Balde can do.

      What exactly is his ball progression? Dribbling past one player then mostly making the wrong decisions. No football iq at all even after 6 yrs under a master like busquets is shameful. Is obvious that his covid wages are still gonna be paid. He was supposed to earn €15M/season, and he accepted €2M/season for 3 seasons to help the club. It would be disgusting to ask him to give up that money and move to another club. Especially with a holding midfielder like Busquets. Yes, Merino won't have the same ball vision as Busi but he is still a holding midfielder with the highest number of duels won last year.

    I am Dutch and a Feyenoord fan, before anyone calls me biased.
    1st. Frenkie de Jong is the second-best progressive number 6 in the world, just behind Rodri, and that's mostly due to the Guardiola + Injury factors. Place him at Spurs, and they could be real title contenders in the Premier League, since they are in need of a progressive 6 of his quality, it is why he is constantly linked to Spurs to begin with. (Again, Feyenoord fan, I really don't like Spurs either)
    2nd. Frenkie is the third highest paid player, yes. That's because Barcelona couldn't pay his original salary during their financial struggles, and Frenkie accepted a deal that he would be paid that sum later. That's on Barcelona, not Frenkie. (Glad you mentioned)
    It is always funny to read or hear people complain about De Jong, when even Xavi himself said on multiple occasions that he is (one of) the most important player in their team. That is not without reason. He is a key to a ton of solutions in pressing and even in his years at Ajax, he was the player that brought them as far as the UCL Semi-Final (which sucks) and was often used as a CB in the Eredivisie, because Ten Hag could use him to play out of the defense and basically had room for an extra midfielder on the pitch.

    Then you were blind 6 months ago, Barcelona has a very poor midfield without de Jong. The amount of games he was not there and Romeu was playing was a clear highlight to the fact Barca needs a player like de Jong who is very hard to disposses, has great control and pace and actually works quite well within the team. Because the amount of shit passes, losing the ball over and over from Romeu just shows how important that is and can turn the tide in a game. You are also blind to the fact the kid played basically everything up to last season when his ankles finally gave up after repeated almost targeted hits. The Netherlands national squad suffered from missing him in the Euro's having only a half as strong midfield with him not there. The things why Barca didn't work last season was that in the defense missing Araujo and having Christensen for some games as CB wasn't ideal at all either. Balde and Kounde were good, somewhat shaky avail. of Pedri and Gavi, Gundogan who seemed to struggle way more in finding the net compared to his City days (and even then it wasn't exactly every game made goals). Ferran Torres is in my opinion a very very low quality striker where his goals are mainly from open chances or static situation (a free kick now and then) but barely creates anything for himself. Replacing him would be on the top of my list but if you marry into Barca I guess Barca is stuck with you. Yamal is a highpoint of the season, the kid is amazing. Raphinha was a little better in shape than previous seasons but he's still a quite egotistical player with more drive for making goals and creating them than the bloody striker Torres. But atleast there's Lewa. Lewa is getting old but tries his best, sometimes it kinda reminds me of the Zlatan Barca days where a guy who's maybe just a little too tall for Barca. Still see him rather than Torres tho. Vitor Roque shouldve been the replacement for Torres but I don't know what the deal is with a 30M buy and never fielding him and when he gets fielded the kid is so frustrated he just gets cards. Maybe with Faye and Olmo things are replenished a bit. A lot of returnees from loans. Anyway it doesn't take a German coach to see that De Jong is a staple asset in the Barca team and that is exactly why Xavi basically played him whenever he gets the chance. So why replace him? Buy a hot young striker who isnt aging, insane or married in? have Gundogan as a sub for Olmo, play Pedri or Gavi next to De Jong or both against weaker teams and give De Jong rest. Sell Christensen and Lenglet and buy a real CB that's a bit more experienced than Faye so you have a double CB option.

    FdJ is unfortunate to be misunderstood by many fans, misused often by coaches because of his adaptability... since moving to Barca, he hasn't truly been used as the DLPM that he is next to a more conservative ball winning partner.

    Raphinha will also refuse a transfer just like Frenkie de Jong. I would sell Ferran but he doesn't wanna go too so if Barca needs to sell players to raise money it gotta be Oriol Romeu, Eric Garcia, Inigo Martinez and probably Julian Araujo if they plan to bring back Cancelo. I would even sell Gundogan before trying to force de Jong out of the club. Frenkie is a briliant midfielder and barca has no alternative for him. Barcelona has a lot of CBs (Christensen, Cubarsi, Kounde, Araujo) and if they are bringig Olmo i don't see Gundogan playing as much as the last season. If was up to me i would bring a ball winning midfielder next to de Jong instead of Dani Olmo for 60mln but Barcelona seems to be fucused on attackers again and ignore defence. Considering none of the current attackers wants to leave the club i don't think thats the right move. So in conclusion i would get that "mistery" unnamed winger from Atletic, defensive midfielder and a full back.

    Fdj's runs are amazing but he wasn't afforded that freedom before due to lack of dm that can cover ground. Plus attacks came through the wings rather than the middle means he was expected to progress via quick pass ( quicker than making a run ). But with hansi crowding the centre i think he'll be a great tool.

    Barcelona, once the epitome of football brilliance, has faced a series of struggles in recent years that have tested the club’s resilience and its fans' patience. The days of tiki-taka mastery under Pep Guardiola, when Lionel Messi, Xavi, and Iniesta turned football into art, seem like a distant memory. Since then, the club has been through a rollercoaster of managerial changes, financial woes, and disappointing performances on the pitch.
    The club’s financial troubles have been no secret, with astronomical debts and questionable signings putting them in a precarious position. High-profile departures, including the heart-wrenching exit of Lionel Messi to PSG, were emblematic of the club's struggles. The team's defense often looked as porous as a sieve, and their attack lacked the spark and creativity that once terrified opponents. The famed La Masia academy, once a conveyor belt of world-class talent, seemed to have lost its magic touch, producing fewer stars capable of leading the team back to glory.
    Despite a resurgence under Xavi's leadership, marked by moments of brilliance and the emergence of promising young talents like Pedri and Gavi, consistency has been hard to come by. Each step forward seems to be followed by two steps back, with the team sometimes stumbling in crucial matches and struggling against opponents they once brushed aside with ease. The weight of expectations at the Camp Nou remains heavy, as fans yearn for a return to the days when Barcelona reigned supreme, both domestically and in Europe.
    The club has tried various solutions-new signings, tactical shifts, and a renewed focus on youth development-but the perfect formula remains elusive. The sense of nostalgia for the "Golden Era" lingers in the air, and it’s clear that something-someone-is still missing.
    After all the tactical tweaks, big-money signings, and managerial shifts, perhaps the only thing Barcelona really needs now to solve their problems is... Antony. No, not the Brazilian winger, but simply someone to put the “Antony” back in their “Anthony-thing” that made them unbeatable-a magic spark, a little pizzazz, and that indefinable flair that turned good teams into great ones. Because let’s face it, all they need is an Antony to make the club better than ever before!

    Honestly they are making the same mistake as they did with the Arthur melo. Frenkie is only one in the team good enough to dribble past opposition lines. Also gavi is injured. If pedri gets injured again we are out of options. Instead of buying younger players, we are selling them. If this is not enough just consider his loyalty with barca. Man has taken pay cuts due to financial condition of the barca and they are still trying to screw him.

He may dribble an overcommitted opposing player from time to time but really doesn't do anything with the ball. Gavi, Pedri, Gundo, Fermin are all better than Frenkie at the moment. He's really not linking play like he did at Ajax.

      I even remember when fans were cry for him to be played as a pivot. Man was a$$ in that position.
      They also said he needed to be played with an actual DM to unlock his skills but which DM is better than Busquets. De Jong sucked playing alongside him. All he knows is do 360 degrees and slow down counters.

    The statement at 03:33 isn't entirely accurate. Ajax didn't technically sell Frenkie de Jong directly to Barcelona. Instead, they sold him to an intermediary company for slightly less than what Barcelona was offering. This allowed Ajax to receive the full payment upfront rather than in installments over several years. While Ajax has completed their part of the deal, Barcelona still owes the intermediary company a certain amount of euros.

    yes Frenkie is a great ball carrier that doesn't mean he is not a good passer.He is a brilliant passer of the ball. Look at his games, his underlying stats of passing, it's top notch.He is defensively not a slouch either which most fans assume. His defensive stats is as good as Rodri.We just want to hate him for his wages which is not his fault imo.Most of the barca fans are in delusion that if fdj leaves, than all problems of barca will be solved and barca will be back to the glory, which is not true at all.

  • @daniaaal
    @daniaaal Месяц назад

    The question isnt whether FDJ is important to Barca or not. He clearly is. The question is whether his wages justify his availability and quality of performances and consistency we have seen from him. To me, the answer to that question is no. The best case scenario is that he is willing to lower his wages, which he has refused previously. So that begs the question of whether he should stay or not.

  • @tonyk978
    @tonyk978 28 дней назад

    I think there are a few errors here.
    The first is the Gary Neville fallacy: no 'back pay' is owed to FDJ. He signed a new contract with a rising salary structure. The reason in his case may have to do, partly, with COVID-19 deferrals, but that's irrelevant. Lewa's contract has a similar structure. FDJ's also has a number of hefty bonuses that make it very expensive for the club in the final two year period. Anyone buying FDJ would step into FCB's shoes and would need to factor that into the price they are willing to pay or have the player agree to a new contract.
    The second has to do with FCB owing Ajax money on FDJ in the next two years. I don't know how the original deal was structured, but FDJ was signed in 2019 on a five year deal, which would have expired in 2024. The years left to run on his current contract are due to his signing a new deal (in 2021). Even had FCB done a five-year deferred deal as they did with Ferran, this would now have expired. But the fact that the video wrongly uses the word 'amortisation' makes me think that the expensing of assets (players) over the term of their contract, a financial accounting question, is being confused with payment of their price.

Maybe a new 9 would make sense, and I don’t think olmo fits there. If they produce enough money a depay transfer would be amazing, but I’d have to check what 9’s are good rn and are buyable options

    Hansi Flick and Xavi's football is way more similar then people think. Pedri is inury prone, Gavi is not.

It is correct to downscale the 75 mil to 45 mil taking the 20 mil into account, but then you also have to mention that if they don't sell him, he's still going to cost Barcelona 20 mil which leaves FC Barcelona with a -20 million in total. Not selling FdJ was a disaster. He will make 75 million for two years in salary before leaving on a free, besides the 60 million transfer fee. He refused to sign a new contract that would’ve spread the wages out and refused an agreed transfer, that selfishness alone deserves whistles from the supporters.
    De Jong is not capable of playing as a pivot ie the lone CDM in a 3 man midfield. He is injury prone, aging, on preposterous money that destroys the clubs wage structure, and would fit better in a classic 4-3-3.
    My club, Man United, just signed Ugarte for 44 million. He would’ve been perfect in the Busquets role. His addition would’ve freed up your creative midfielders to get forward while shielding a suddenly leaky back 4 (which cost you a title last year). Playing two defensive midfielders against the bottom half of the table’s anti-football is going to create some uncharacteristically ugly football for Barcelona.
