God bless Ron Harris. Thanks to him creating this series, I was a very fit teenager in the 80s. I had great cardiovascular health and a hell of a grip.
I remember these! They used to run in between movies on Showtime IIRC. If they were looking for a way to prevent teenage boys from switching channels after a movie, they succeeded beyond their wildest expectations.
And the workout it's self was great. I use to do these right along with the ladies who were demonstrating these movements back in the day when I was in my early 20s. I remember this one in particular. I thought, damn that girl's in shape. I couldn't lift my leg as high as she could but other than that, at the end of two weeks, this exercise with the rest of my routine, gave me an iron butt and major strong thighs. These people were not fucking around when it came to workouts.
Ron Harris was a genius. I remember always having my VCR ready to go.If one of these came on, I was jumping up to press the record button. Darcy was AMAZING'

Boxing and Inside the NFL saved HBO from the chopping block and you can see why Showtime was kept!

I never knew this program existed, as I did not have cable, but I do remember the 20min workout. I worked nights and my ex would wake me in the morn with a mug of coffee by my nightstand, and the 20min workout on tv, so I did not have to self service myself but rather service her. I was a young buck back then in excelent shape(original 6pack abs), gymnist physic, able to run 5-7 miles a day.(and did). I was reminisquing to a friend about my past, looked up 20mins and now know of this show. I would like to get back in shape as even though I still attract young girls(some in their 20's)even today(I'm 65yrs old) I have been loosing weight from 200+ pounds to now low 180's. My goal is 175. I had to stop regular exercise because of injuries. I have arthritis, asthma, torn achilles ligament, torn cartilage, torn tenden, and torn ligament on my shoulder, carpel tounel, tibitatal tounel, as well as neck and lower back injury, oh and heel spurs. Yea I'm a mess but still outwork half my workforce, including those half to one third my age. I'm hoping revisiting these episodes puts me back in the right mindset. Wish me well folks. Thank you(and thank you Ron Harris).
Am I the only person out there who actually watches these for exercise??? Yeah, I'm a woman, but I'm bisexual if that makes a difference. I just like the exercise because it really is a lot of fun. And tough! These girls look hot for a reason.
Some of these routines will seriously kick your ass. And to think these girls had to do multiple takes of them whilst spinning on a giant platter under bright lights and all while look like cover-girls. They probably got paid dogshit too considering how big this series got.

Back in the 1980's women did exercises that were lady like. They did not have attitudes and act self centered. Today the athletic women taking selfies of them selves and post them on instagram and show off (LOOK AT ME)!!!!!! Women back then did their sexy exercises with out the narcissism and attitude. Those women from the 1980"s are a lot more beautiful then the women of today because attitude is everything.

How about slide rules and corded telephones? No remote controls and no TV after midnight. LP jackets were all you knew of the band you were listening to until you might see them in concert. Once upon a time...television networks broadcasted real programming rather than reality and/or game or talent shows. That programming was meant for variety shows. We were gifted with Aerobicise. Thank you Ron Harris.

The workout this girl is doing is meant to shape, strengthen, and tone the buttocks and thighs specifically for a woman's shape. She was working it hard too. Did you see how red her face was towards the end? No pain, no gain. That is a tough exercise.

Lack of tasteless tattoos is a Godsend. I bet the majority of these ladies never had a tramp stamp or tribal tattoo. Tattoo mentality = trash on beautiful young ladies.
dave4248 Women had tattoos back then but they were generally just a rose here and there. Sometimes the ink was from an event or something that meant a lot to the lady. But there was none of the full body tattoos. That really didn't start till the late 80s early 90s. That was when it became trendy. I am a tattoo enthusiast, my love is for the vintage tattoos. But I only have two. It is in an uncanny valley right now because people have lost their way and meaning in life. They don't seem to want to get it back anytime soon.
