Well done son! Looks dialed-in already. I'm amazed you were able to shoehorn that big motor and ESC into the thing. I had a tough time installing a 2836 motor, HobbyWing 30 amp ESC and a small 1300 mAh 2-cell battery in my boat. I never had a chance to run it on 3-cells because as you know, I lost mine after hitting a fountain at full speed. Glad to see that you had a successful maiden. Cheers!
Thanks brother I really appreciate the kit I enjoyed every second of the build & enjoyed the maiden run even more. .. It took about 3-4 days of planning to fit the esc & motor in the boat, I really didn't think I was gonna get it to fit with cooling. I made the hatch and still couldn't get the water jacket to fit, I was about to give up on the setup until I found the cooling coil from the Miss geico 17. Boom it worked 💪 thanks again buddy
Hi man this is another Ironcreature very nice. I think that this RIGGER need a good coloration. This is a mine opinion man. Great work and stay fast from Italy
About Powertain, 2968 is a beast for this boat. I use a Tenchock vz 1515 motor at 4000kv paird with a Seaking 40A ESC, with 430 props in winter. I also use Xteam 2835 motor 3300kv with a 432 prop in summer. Just for your reference Bro :)
Thanks, it wasn't really ready for a water test, I really needed to test the cooling, the king Kong rigger ran cool so I'm throwing the 4000 kv in for the next run.
Hallo mine motor was not strong enough to give the lift to the water 1500tr/min not enough Now i have one 2600kv i think thzt Will be beter and a speed prop nr 5 greetings
I built the same outrigger. 2838 5500kv motor, 90a flycolor ESC. On 4s, the transom hops at full throttle. I've tried moving the center of gravity but it still hops.
My rudder is a little long as well. That could be it. I run a 430 or a 432 prop. Two 2s 740mah drone batteries wired to 4s. I need to get a GPS, mine looks about the same speed as yours
@@IRONCLADRC rudder length makes a huge difference. I cut down a cheap plastic one I had and it fixed all my transom hop. I have a 2" aluminum rudder on the way
I had exactly the same 'shramp' boat kit from DWH. bounces at the stern while full throttle exactly as your vedio. Tried to fix more poxey at the stern but doesn't help that much.
Not exactly sure but I'm fairly certain a 2835 or 2850 size or maybe a 380 venalon w/ cooling jacket? 2835 outrunner w/o cooling could work with small props 🤔 2948 surpass rocket would also fit... 2958 rocket will fit with some clever modifications. 2860 sss 3400kv motor shouldl fit with a water cooling jacket
I hope we stop using the “shrimp” in the name again. I hate it. It’s sooo loosely based. These are “outriggers” calling them shrimp outriggers is just silly
The larger RC riggers started being called "Lobster Boats" partly due to the 1990 U-10 Winston Eagle that popularized that name (It had the general shape, color, and overall proportions of a lobster). I think Randy Naylor produced a kit of it back in the days and called it the "Lobster" boat. When they (the Chinese kit manufacturers) shrunk them down in size, they also shrunk the name. Lobster => shrimp. I agree it's a lousy name. I'd just call it the "Mini Rigger" and be done with it. Maybe the "Wood Mini Rigger".
@@AllConsumingJAWS After seeing the Micro Clad run, I think "Water Strider" is particularly well-suited to that boat. The larger (at 495mm??) boat reminds me more of the "Jesus Lizard". See ruclips.net/video/sOzFZAJayOk/видео.html That way, when you do speed runs with it, you can exclaim: "JESUS!" as it goes screaming past.......
She is a runner 👍 nice build B !!! ❤️
Wow! Great maiden bro 👏 I really need to find the time to start my rigger build. Your vids have been so useful. Thanks for sharing Big B.
It's a fun little boat to build. Your gonna love it
Nice build and set-up, Ran Great right out the Gate.

I am impressed sir. Outstanding job. Great run!!
Thanks brother. It was a fun build

This is awesome.
Great job a little tuning and she will be skimming across the top of the water in no time.

Nice maiden. I like it when they go well. Cool idea on bending the turn fin. I wonder where that came from.... 🤔😉

Would be cool to see like 5 racing
Awsome
Nice maiden, is the hop a cg issue or strut angle and dangle? Lol! My maiden did the same hop but blew the prop and shaft off... 😂
@@mikesrcgarage it's the prop i was running at the time

Mine does too I think my rudder may be to long causing drag creating the hop.

I may shorten the rudder I think it's creating some drag causing the bounce
Everyone is struggling to fit different motors/waterjackets. Whats the best motor that actually fits this mini rigger ? ...3-cell

I have a CAT92. Can you help me remotely with the 'assembly? Thank you very much. HELP!!!
I can try. Ironcladedout@gmail.com
@@IRONCLADRC I immediately sent an email with some photos. Thank you very much.
Hello, i'm interested in what kind of propeller you use? I fi32 P1.4 , what pitch do you have the boat is the same as yours.
I've been running a tfl 3619 & oxidean 3519 prop. 1.9p
@@IRONCLADRCok thanks for the info i will test it. Thank you.
How much time do you get with a 2200mah?
The way I drive my boats not long! 3-6 minutes depending on how hard I push it.
@@IRONCLADRC 6 minutes sounds a lot. I had a guess like 3-4 minutes the way you push. Great boat, bud!

I agree. The boat Is named a shrimp outrigger for some odd reason. So that's what I called it.
How about a "Water Strider" it's an insect that skims across the top of the water really fast eating other falling insects.
