Wardrobe mirror. Measure the width carefully between the screws holding the handle and the hinges x whatever height you want, then find a local glazier to cut a piece of 6mm mirrored glass (call it ‘6mm silvered’ if you want to impress them) to size and polish the edges. Also buy a tube of mirror-fix from them. Take the door off (the hinges either unclip, or unscrew) and lay it flat, then glue the mirror onto it with the mirror-fix. Rehang the door - be prepared to adjust the hinges as it’ll be 10-15Kg heavier. 👍
SonsOfLorgar Sure, but only if the mirror’s the right size; you don’t want to cover the handle screws, or the hinges - don’t ask me how I found that out... 🤔👍Edited to add; also the framed mirror is likely to be 4mm - a bit thin for mounting on a door. Again, don't ask me how etc...
Gorgeous flat! One word of warning from a Londoner: Rain showers are great for about a month, and then limescale happens. If you can take the shower head off, soak it in vinegar. If not, stick some vinegar in a freezer bag and stick it over the shower head with a rubber band.
For the Gallery Wall- Something really helpful is to cut paper into the size of each frame so you can temporarily tape them on the wall to practice placement. You can also arrange the actual frames on the floor to see how they fit together. There's a lot of rearranging until you figure out what you like and this really helps to you don't end up hanging them all then disliking it.
Landyard - get a 20in x 18in canvas (or whatever that is in metric, ‘Merica is still slow). Anyway, cut the landyards so they are straight Then glue to landards like a ribbon to the canvas. Glue them as close together, mix and match (or don’t match) the colors so that from the other side of the room it looks abstract art. If one landyard is too much cut them down to size so that one whole event name is present and then a bit from the event name before and after. So like. Event is “Stockholm” so you cut it so it is “olm. Stockholm. Stoc”. You don’t have to be slavish to using the whole landyard. The nice thing about this design is you add more as you get more landyards. So maybe you only have enough to fill half the canvas. No problem, fill up what you got and use the blank space as a reminder of where you are yet to go, or use one landyard in multiple places. You might want a black gesso canvas instead of white if you are going to leave it blank until it is filled in. Color, color, color.

It depends if you think you'll use any of them again, because you could definitely cut them into strips and make some awesome art with them if you have the time and energy. I think weaving them together would look really cool. I have an Ikea lamp and have just hung all of mine over one of the branches, but that's not very interesting or arty.

What a lovely flat. I'm going to do an updated Accessible House tour soon since I've added a few more accommodations for my wheelchair. There's something so nice about seeing how other people fill their space.
Hi, your flat is amazing, really bright, friendly & welcoming. I see a warm happy vibe with a really good layout of business & personal touches ( I lol at the ornament in the bedroom ). Congratulations to you & Dan
I appreciated how professional you were sponsoring the mattress cuz if I were you I would have talked about how good is to have sex on it the whole time
There are some very creative ideas with the lanyards going on below, but in the short term I would stick them in a mini fish bowl or a glass jug/vase. Flat looks lovely too!
With your lanyards you could take them and make a sort of lattice/weave wall art which you could frame! And then you could file away the card part or make a scrapbook of them along with photos of the events?
Gallery wall advice: organize whatever it is you are wanting to put up into size categories. generally 3 categories of small, medium, large works well, but it just depends on what you've got. pick 3-5 larger pieces you want to be more focal points, and put these up first spaced out a bit. Then fill in some more with your medium sized pieces, and finally put up the smaller pieces in any spots that look bare or like they might need filling out. hope that helps!
For the lanyards: (if you want to keep them intact) you can display them on small hooks on a wall or mount them inside shadow boxes or deep frames and hang those on the wall. For the gallery wall: arrange all the frames/artwork on the floor first to get a good feel for the flow/spacing/composition and/or use butcher paper (or whatever large sheets of paper you have) to trace and cut out the shape & size of the frames to tape and arrange on the wall - much easier to move around before you punch holes in the wall. Good luck!
For the lanyards, take the pass off the lanyard and then you could like frame them in a grid pattern or string them all up together, ect. I've had this same problem and it becomes much easier to manage with just the passes. You've done a great job with your flat, it looks amazing!
For the lanyards- perhaps get a cork board and you can pin them to it! I did it with a heap of medals for dance comps: it looks great on a wall with all the colours draping down. Super cheap and simple, but also keeps everything much better organized, plus the pins mean you can move it about and grab ones as you need, or add more as time goes on
For the gallery wall - lay all the stuff out and mess around with the design on the floor right below where you want to hang them (in front of the couch)! Mess with the spacing and order and everything and get it perfect then write down dimensions and take a picture and it makes it so much easier to hang!
Gallery Wall tips - lay out a large piece of paper ( on the floor) and reorganize your photos there, until you're happy. Then trace, cut out, and hang the paper. You can then use it as a guide to put them on the wall.
I love that you're so down to earth it's one of the main reasons I've been a long time subscriber! The fact that you keep everything in terms of your book process and lanyards from events along with the framed portraits (which are ever so gorgeous might I add) Your home is beautiful I wish you happiness, success and safety. Thank you for always knowing the right things to say and for keeping me feeling sane and less alone
For the lanyards: go buy a broom handle for storage. You can hang the broom handle horizontally from the ceiling or on the wall and then hang the lanyards on the handle
For your gallery wall, get brown wrapping paper. Trace the size of the frames and move them around till you find a way you like them together. Even let the paper stay up for a bit before you commit. No one likes multiple holes in the walls. For your lanyards from your events, get shadow boxes for them. Line them up on one side, slightly overlapping each other (but not so you can’t read them) and have the lanyards hang lose. Hang them any which way you want. It’s makes for a really cool look.
Gallery wall!! Lay the pieces out on the floor until you find an arrangement that you like, and then transfer that arrangement piece by piece to the wall. As for the lanyards... maybe a shadow box? Or you could hang them on little hooks on the side of the bookcase or on a wall? Or take all the plastic bits off and turn them into never growing crochet rug?
Gallery wall: Take measurements of the wall, sofa and all the frames. Have a piece of paper with the wall/sofa measurements, and separate cutouts of each frame size and organise them on paper until you like how it looks, then hang them up in that order. Saves second guessing yourself about it all the time. Lanyards: You could get a glass see-through photo frame and layer them on each side, that way it turns into a cool artwork to display, AND you can re-use them again if necessary
It's so interesting to see how your videos went from always being single and just wondering about a relationship to now living with your boyfriend. Amazing how things change 🌼
My house started out as an office with dingy carpets, pokey corridors, wiring all over the place and breeze block walls. I’ve been here 5 years converting it bit by bit and although it was amazing having a blank canvas, it will never be totally finished I don’t think and how I would LOVE to move into a brand new ready made house like this!
this is so cute I'm so happy for you! for the lanyards - get a bunch of coat hooks and hang them on those. maybe organize by year or category? that way you can look through them whenever you want and/or rearrange them.
Orange the gallery wall on the ground on a large piece of newsprint or paper until you like it, then draw around the frames, then tape it on the wall where you want it the whole ensemble and then also you can use the guide to know where to put the nails. Then hang them up!
way of displaying land-yards- buy a large ikea frame- and a jewellery hook that attached to the wall (urban outfitters have some lovely ones with slogans that say “good vibes only” etc nail it into the wall, hang your lanyards off them and then maybe hang the fame around it ??? also for my gallery wall I find that laying them out on the ground rearranging them to how I want and then doing a quick sketch mock up for reference helpful !
Lanyards if you have the space make their own gallery wall in your office just by hanging them in different formations! Or if you don’t I’m sure there’s a way to make them into a wreath. As far as living room gallery wall goes, take old cardboard (from tv box maybe?) and cut them to the size of all the posters you want to hang. Then tape them up in different formations with painters tape to test out how you want to display them! As a visual person this is a must for me when I make a new gallery wall. Have fun!
If you do have the lanyard on the wall, I picture making them look like a giant sun/flower. Have all the large tags create the middle, and have the lanyard strings triangle outward to look like the sun rays/petals. Could match the sunflower theme!
For the lanyards connect them like a paper chain then put it like bunting over a door frame or something then you can add new ones on easily and love it around as it gets bigger or have little ones around the flat.
Buy an oversized frame then glue and nail peg board inside the frame. Mount hooks on the board for you lanyards. Make sure to add a few extra hooks for more lanyards.
Throw those lanyards in a nice grid and frame it - put it up on your wall of achievement. Framing sentimental items turns them from clutter into interesting art!
For your lanyards you could have a little open frame display with 5 or 6 hooks inside and put the most recent 5 or 6 lanyards in there, swapping out every so often ! Flat looks deadly btw, love all the color
Gallery wall idea - have a main focus, maybe a large piece, and have it spiral. Maybe even connect a story or timeline as you do so to provide meaning and context to you
Lanyard idea: you could weave them together into a big square, a la Sorry Girls headboard style but not necessarily use it as a headboard but like a piece of art!
Absolutely ADORE what you’re doing with the flat! I can’t wait till can decorate my place when I move into an empty apartment (instead of suffering through what’s there already like I’ve been doing as a student😩). You give me so much inspiration and goals 👏🏼
For your gallery you should screw a rails to the top of your wall, against the ceiling. On the rails you hang almost invisible cords. That way you can switch the frames whenever you want and you don't have 10 holes in your wall. The rails, cords and hooks come in sets.
for the lanyards, clip them/tie the strings to a clothesline-esque thing going along the top of the wall. you'll have space all the way around the room to continue if you get more
I'm definitely far too late but with the landyards, if you haven't done anything already, you could see if you can do a big plait/braid with them so they're all neatly intertwined with the cards all dangling at the bottom. Like lanyard macrame :)
A tip for the gallery wall: cut out pieces of paper same size as your frames to arrange and rearrange on the wall until you decide on your configuration...makes visualizing it easier
Beautiful flat, and I love how nicely you've arranged everything. It's inspiring me to give my own flat a makeover! 😊 For your lanyards, have you thought about hanging them on some sort of tree-like stand/sculpture? I noticed how you arranged your necklaces in your bedroom and thought you might be able to make that work for your lanyards. You just might need a larger stand to hang your lanyards on, or even constructing a DIY wire sculpture. If you do the DIY way, you can make it super intricate, like some sort of miniature tree without any leaves and just drape all your lanyards over it to display all their colors!
Your flat looks fab. That showerhead! As for the lanyards the first thing that came to my mind was turning each one into a loop (maybe with sticky velcro dots) and making something along the lines of christmas chains, or at least in that basic pattern. You could probably even leave the badges on if you wanted to.
Ah. _The 4-Hour Work Week_ Yes. I've _read_ that. A very illuminating book which I heartily recommend. While reading it, it occurred to me to really give my finances a good, close scrutiny, and on my next visit to the bank, I paid off _all my debt._ So yes, now, I don't have _quite_ as much money in the bank, but I'm _absolutely debt free_ and that feels really good.
Great place. Not easy to use so many colors together but you make it work. But, as a librarian I have to question organizing your books by color :) . The lanyards, make a weaving.
I have loads of event lanyards too! I hang them on my wardrobe door handles and because they’re all different colours I think they look quite decorative!
I have a bunch of lanyards and I keep the laminates stapled into a little scrapbook and use the strings in a sort of lattice pattern on a corkboard, so that they are displayed with my notes. 🙂
For the lanyards, maybe get a shadow box with a rod in it to hang all your lanyards on in a color-coded way or something like that :) Also, for a gallery wall, either try to have it diamond shaped (with large/more things in the center and smaller/fewer things to either side) or have it be as square as you can get it, but either way try to keep the gaps between each thing about the same size
You could make a circular collage of your favourite pictures from lanyard events then have the lanyards pulled out from behind it for sun rays so it looks like a full sun, then if you wanted to really go there you could/have someone make it into a clock.
Gallery wall tip - if you're hanging frames on a wall that has a door, try to get at least one of the frames top edge to match the top edge of the door - it looks more controlled that way. Then the others can be an orientation taken from that one
Love this! Very, very envious of your beautiful flat, it looks like the perfect cosy place and my kind of ideal design and style of decoration! With the lanyards, as an artist, my suggestion would be to mirror the look of your bookshelf with your lovely colourful book spines; get a picture frame with a strong back panel (ideally white), pin or glue the lanyards down in vertical lines either in colour order or higgldypiggldy. Hey presto, you have your keepsake turned into a lovely thing to look at and admire that fits with the bookshelf theme except they’re now also tidy, organised and protected from dust. :) xx
A cool way to display the lanyards could be to weave them all together and make like a colourful square that you could make into a wall hanging or a pillowcase or a pencil case!!!
For displaying the lanyards, if you don't mind cutting the fabric/neck part you could remove it and use it to frame each lanyard sleeve and then line them up altogether in a frame.
For the gallery wall, place out all the frames on thee floor on a pice of paper large enough for them to all fit and then choose where you think they look best and draw around them so you have a template to put up in the wall and drill the holes in to hang them :)
For the lanyards. There's a bunch of different running medal display racks on Amazon, some screw onto the walls and others are like mini hills hoist clotheslines.
I’ve got a bunch of lanyards and collectible pins I’m putting on a set of cork boards on my wall. I’m using the pins to attach the lanyards around the frames of the cork boards, then I’ll be using the boards themselves either for the rest of the pins (I have too many tbh) or as a book writing tool. Or both!
Your flat looks quite lovely, Hannah. In regards to what to do with your lanyards, how about displaying them inside of a shadow box. You could arrange them in a particular order or arrangement that has special meaning to you. Also, a possible suggestion for the hall, you could purchase a unit that has a cabinet on the bottom, with a mirror at the top. This would provide a space for your keys and such, as well as, additional storage below, plus a beautiful cohesive mirror.
This is so relatable to me right now! Me and my partner bought an apartment off the plan 2 years ago and moved in a couple of months ago (we're in New Zealand). I'm loving setting everything up and getting it just the way we want it. Good luck with your blinds shopping - we were overwhelmed by all the options but found some good ones in the end :)
Thanks for the tour! Very modern and cool! Could you maybe braid the lanyards together into a rope and let it hang from a hook in the ceiling? Just let the cards stick out randomly.
Lanyard proposal! Use them to make a woven ribbon style notice board. If you just do a google image search you’ll see what I mean. Seems fairly easy with some material, some batting and the lanyards. And maybe a staple gun.
You could weave the lanyards into a big square and frame it, or turn it into a wall hanging if you left the ends unwoven! Congratulations on the house you are wining at being an adult.
Gallery wall idea: take photos of your pieces. Print them and arrange on a piece of paper try and do this to scale. Also use command strips as they dont damage the wall
Pinterest feature wall is a good place for ideas for what to put up. Or just like a row of similar sized picture frames with photos of your families and you together? Hang the lanyards up! Make a display. In a large frame get some white card the right size, with a bit of space either side and make a rainbow of the lanyards so you can read them by wrapping them around the cards and fixing with like masking tape Love your content -S x
as for displaying the lanyards: you can get a metal pole at ikea or pretty much anywhere that sells kitchens and/or hanging plant pots, mount it on the wall and hang the lanyards from it - it's easy to add new ones and it looks quite neat :) you could also put them in like a giant frame, but getting it down and opening it to add new ones might be a bit tiresome, especially if you go to these events a lot.
I LOOOVVVEEEEE your flat! It looks so colourful and homely! With the artwork wall, I'd maybe suggest using Command hooks or strips to hang the frames, because they will come off without damaging the wall. So if you put art up and get more and have to move it around, you won't have actual hooks nailed into the wall, and it won't damage the wall :)
I really loved this, such a nice place! I loved the idea of the lil boxes at the door for separate keys and wallets etc. out of everything I really want the bedside tables aha maybe put the lanyards in a frame all positioned horizontally, colour coded or like oldest to newest.
For the lanyards you could maybe gets a big pin board or one of those wire frame things and hang them on there with pins or hooks, and then have photos from the events on there too?
Could you weave the lanyards together to create a catch-all type bowl (for keys, change, little things) or a flat surface for placing something else on top of it or a wall hanging? Alternatively, you could lay them all flat and use them as a backdrop in a shadow box and put other things from those events in there.
My suggestion for your lanyards is to buy a fabric lampshade and sew the lanyards on there with the top of the lanyards close to the top of the lampshade.
Maybe make a mobile out of the lanyards or do you have space in your hallway? You could hang them there. Mr. Kate and also The Sorry Girls have tips on gallery walls. In a nutshell, make paper templates for all your pictures that you want to hang and arrange them first on the floor until you like the arrangement before you hang them. You can use painter's tape to measure it out on the wall too.

Lanyards:
You could get a glass see-through photo frame and layer them on each side, that way it turns into a cool artwork to display, AND you can re-use them again if necessary
Your flat looks so marvellous! Thank you for showcasing it I’m kind of jealous. I can’t wait for the next video.
Here from the latest More Hannah video 😍 great to see how things changed.
Very nice flat 🙂
Oooo this has made me so excited to grow up and one day have a flat or a house!!!! I say this like I’m twelve or something I’m really not 😂😂😂
Don't wish your life away trust me.
Never grow up!
(I’m 34 on Tuesday)
THE WAY YOU JUMPED ON THAT BED, IT LOOKS SO COMFTY OMG
So happy for you Hannah! Your flat looks great.
I enjoyed the books on your shelf being organised into colours. Such a simple thing but looks nice
For your lanyards, have you thought about hanging them on some sort of tree-like stand/sculpture?
While reading it, it occurred to me to really give my finances a good, close scrutiny, and on my next visit to the bank, I paid off _all my debt._
So yes, now, I don't have _quite_ as much money in the bank, but I'm _absolutely debt free_ and that feels really good.
I love love love your flat! It’s amazing! So happy for you and dan x best wishes x
Also, you should weave your lanyards together and then put that big woven thing into a frame for the wall!
:) xx
Wow this flat is goal ! Well done it's beautiful! And this bed looks comfy as hell I just wanna snuggle in my own blanket right now 😍
"A classic Ikea unit that everyone has"
Me: *glances two inches to my right where I have the exact same shelving unit*
so obsessed with your flat!! having a flat like this in london is DREAMY, so happy for you! x
For the lanyards, you could put some nails or hooks in the book case and loop them round or hang them!
For the gallery wall, place out all the frames on thee floor on a pice of paper large enough for them to all fit and then choose where you think they look best and draw around them so you have a template to put up in the wall and drill the holes in to hang them :)
For the lanyards, there’s hangers for displaying medals and I think it would work with your lanyards
For the lanyards. There's a bunch of different running medal display racks on Amazon, some screw onto the walls and others are like mini hills hoist clotheslines.
Your flat is beautiful! I also find it very refreshing that your home doesn't look like it came from Pinterest.
Your flat is gorgeous! Do a bookshelf tour next and the boardgames video!
And for the event thingies - some sort of collage?
I’ve got a bunch of lanyards and collectible pins I’m putting on a set of cork boards on my wall. I’m using the pins to attach the lanyards around the frames of the cork boards, then I’ll be using the boards themselves either for the rest of the pins (I have too many tbh) or as a book writing tool. Or both!
You could get a shelf with rails underneath and put all the lanyards on the rail and then use the shelf as a display for plants or books or something
In a large frame get some white card the right size, with a bit of space either side and make a rainbow of the lanyards so you can read them by wrapping them around the cards and fixing with like masking tape
Love your content
-S x
Love the colour organised bookshelf!
as for displaying the lanyards: you can get a metal pole at ikea or pretty much anywhere that sells kitchens and/or hanging plant pots, mount it on the wall and hang the lanyards from it - it's easy to add new ones and it looks quite neat :) you could also put them in like a giant frame, but getting it down and opening it to add new ones might be a bit tiresome, especially if you go to these events a lot.
Wow it's looking ace!! Love that you're not afraid of colour and that it has so much zing and cosiness!!
I loved the idea of the lil boxes at the door for separate keys and wallets etc. out of everything I really want the bedside tables aha
maybe put the lanyards in a frame all positioned horizontally, colour coded or like oldest to newest.
With the lanyards you could do a "weave" with them all (like u did at school) and frame it? Idk how else to describe it 🤷🏼♀️
I use a long coat hook unit and I put them on the wooden hooks. Several lanyards can fit on each hook.
You could wrap your lanyards around a ring wreath mold, and display it as a pretty wreath with the tags hanging off.
Your lanyards you can hang them from the ceiling or weave them into a bag...i stitched all of mine together and made them into patches for a quilt!
Hanging it like a mobile kind of thing? That would be really cool!
@@jrocknpoppingirl or putting them into a frame the size of a coffee table and filling with clear resin and once it's hard and sanded it will be a perfect coffee table conversation point!
Or hand them on a wall on show
Lanyard Storage: shadowbox? Mostly coil each one with your (?guest) pass showing. Dust-free and easily viewable.
