I think it’s a great idea to prepay annually so that you can lower the monthly. I think the trick is if you don’t pay it all up front (like money leaves your bank account thing), you don’t pull from it to cover overspending.

I totally agree! We like to try and pay things up front. Or for something like Christmas, fund it and then hide the category. That way we won’t pull from it throughout the year.

I do the same thing in terms of planning my tax return because we have tight margins. We are going to save for non monthly expenses for a large part of it.

So glad to see y’all. Hope y’all feel back to normal soon. ❤
For groceries, the 2 instacarts and the 1 superstore equal the same amount.. could it be double transactions?

Good work! I’m also Canadian but self employed and try to manage my instalments so I don’t have too big a refund. I’m still working on paying off a personal loan so a lot will go towards that as I’m hoping to pay it off this year! And then probably some towards vacation and some for immediate fun :)

Oh I love that! Always a big fan of some responsible use and some carefree fun money. Good luck with the loan! We’re rooting for you to be able to pay it off this year!
