I drove this route many times in a real locomotive the class 37 when I was a fireman working out of eastfield traction depot Glasgow queen street to Oban 1974 day shift and night shift on what they called the ghost train Mail train fantastic scenery during the day my uncle was a mainline driver spent many shifts with him he would let me drive only 19 driving that huge engine this video brought back many memories
Heaps, its a beautiful Seaside town, great shops and places to eat and drink, lots off seafoods, catch a ferry to the islands, visit McCaiggs tower, great views up there, you can have a really nice weekend there.
One of the most long & boring train journeys in history. Sure, the views are nice, but the train goes about 15 miles an hour the whole way! Just over 3 hours by rail. I can do it in just under 2 hours by car. But thanks for the video 😁
Lol, only boring i you have never done it before and being from another country its nice to see the countryside, but glad you watched it anyways, cheers
@@arthurgordon6072I'm talking from a local point of view. For tourists is a lovely journey. But if you're just trying to get from point A to point B, it's a boring, tedious journey.
