Hi! My sister and I took this train in September 2022 too! I'm watching this while looking at my pictures and videos. So many great memories! Thanks for posting this! Its great to see this all again as a nice video. :))
Nice train journey from my hometown Glasgow. I hope you had time to take the train to Mallaig. The route and Glenfinnan Viaduct are featured in a Harry Potter film. Glasgow to Fort William by bus, Scottish Citylink, is very scenic as it goes along the Clyde, then close to Loch Lomond. From Crianlarich the bus goes through dramatic Glencoe to Fort William. Bus journey is really good.
Always great to see the countryside from a train. The scenery is amazing, really beautiful especially this time of year. Enjoyed traveling there through your camera today! 😍😊👍
I’ve been to Scotland including to Edinburgh and it is such a beautiful country to visit. I haven’t been to Glasgow but Glasgow Queen Street station does look very nice since it has been refurbished.
Done it on a 10 day tour of Scotland with my family from Ireland from Glasgow to the western isles across to Inverness upto John o groats and everywhere in between one of the best holidays ever 😀
Because the West Highland Line uses a more old fashioned method of track maintenance. That being bolted rails as opposed to the more modern welded rail you get to experience the rather nice and satisfying clickety clack sounds on the trains wheels. You get the same experience if you travel between Inverness and Thurso and Wick on the far north line
Wow.. that’s an interesting information. The sounds were different. But, I will observe it during my trip to Inverness. Thanks for sharing the insights 👍
The only time I've actually enjoyed the scenery on that journey was when I had friends over from the States. Every other time I just crash out as I've used it dozens of times for work lol
Only three coaches for FortWilliam and Oban which is too little for the busy summer traffic. I had to stand from Glasgow to Crianlarich where the trains splits and then I got a seat for Oban.
You would think Scotrail would put on some decent rolling stock considering it's the most scenic train ride in Scotland. It is a long journey on what is hardly better than a commuter train.
I really enjoyed your video from start to stop. Thank you for this. I have always wanted to travel to Scotland. Tell me, what can we do in Fort William whist we are waiting for the Inverness train to continue further north into Scotland? Thank you kindly.
Hey bro , that’s really awesome. I just had a question I have a vodafone Indian Sim and with international Roaming it does work very well in England & Wales . Does it work well in scottish highlands like Fort william??

That suspension bridge over the Clyde is known as The Erskine Bridge, named after the small town - Erskine - it goes past 👍
Thanks for sharing the details 🙏 Quite informative.

One day these beautiful but barren landscapes will be rewilded and once again covered in trees!!!

At 2:18 these trains were refurbished fairly recently but have been in use since 1987 they are called class 156 DMUs
Thanks for the insights 👍
Merci! 😃
👍
I remember a much older train.
2009
👍
I did the trip in mid winter
Ok 👍

Hope additional coaches are added for Summer 👍
No every summer they only use 3 diesel coaches.
@@jimmcintosh9045 oh ok
All they need to do to make this better is change the carriages to mk1s and put a 37,4 at the front

Hey Bro.. Not sure about Vodafone network. Enjoy your trip 👍
@@Travelwow7 thanks a lot . But in general how is the network there . Would you recommend me to buy a local sim instead?
@@harshshah1453 Yes, Better to get a local SIM in UK. It’s not expensive.
Does the track go to the right hand side of Glencoe then, missing out the Glen and then swerving left before arriving @ Fort William?
Yes, that’s correct. But, I dint get to see Glen. May be I might have missed.
@@Travelwow7 You couldn't miss it, you must have bypassed it.
Ps fun fact...Corrour is in the film "Trainspotting"😉
