- Bishop Carlton Pearson, who was the subject of Netflix's "Come Sunday" passed away on Sunday at the age of 70, following a brief battle with cancer, according to a post on his Facebook account.
"We are saddened to inform you that Bishop Carlton D’Metrius Pearson, one of the most popular and influential preachers in America and around the world, who sacrificed everything for a message of unconditional love and acceptance by God, died peacefully the night of November 19, 2023, at the age of 70, after a brief battle with cancer that had returned after first defeating it 20 years ago," read the post on Pearson's Facebook page.
The post added that Pearson was surrounded by his family when he passed.
Pearson's agent Will Bogle told the Associated Press that Pearson died Sunday night in hospice care in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Carlton Pearson's early life
Founder of a former megachurch in Oklahoma, Higher Dimensions, Inc., Pearson moved to the state in 1971 to study at Oral Roberts University, as per the Facebook post. He was invited by Oral Roberts to join the World Action Singers and eventually became an associate evangelist with the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association in 1975.
In 1977, Pearson launched his own ministry Higher Dimensions, Inc., and was considered to be a rising star on the Pentecostal preaching circuit, according to the AP. Pearson made frequent appearances on television which helped him connect with a bigger national and international audience and expand his following. He was one of only two African American preachers with a nationwide television ministry, the Facebook post said.
Pearson expanded his ministry in 1981, founding the Higher Dimensions Family Church in Tulsa - later known as New Dimensions Church.

Hell is real and heaven is real
Indeed! Heaven is real and hell is real. These are real places, and a lot of people will be shocked when they see hell but alas it will be too late for repentance. Lets not play religion with God. He told Noah it would rain, no one believed cos in the first nstance they had not seen rain. So in their mind Noah was fanatical, exergerating things. They were scoffing him for 400 yes God waited for them to repent. Then suddenly one day the rains came. Those that love and fear God know how the story ends.
Jesus said just like in the days of Noah so shall it be in the last days. Men will become lovers of self and pleasure, and haters of the truth. They will believe a lie. And many today are believing a lie that there is no hell.
My encouragement is to all of us that love, reverence and fear the Almighty God, let's stay in the truth no matter what. Our redemption draws nigh. The wisdom of God is foolishness to those that perish because it is spiritually discerned. Stay close to Jesus, for there is many demonic doctrines out there drawing many into eternal damnation.
God say, " come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord

And I will receive you. The choice is yours and mine. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord and make heaven. Hell is real. Blessings to the children God who believe in this truth.

Only the righteous live forever. If the soul is not regenerated then it doesn't live forever. Hell is simply the Greek word for the grave. To perish means that life ends forever. Only those born again live forever.
The bible is full of allegory metaphor hyperbole and differing literary types which are not meant to be talen literal. The grave is eternal death for the lost, sinners, backsliders, and unrepentant.
So much has been said and written about this brother. I hope he was able to make it right with God before he passed, if not, it is a sad day for him, as there is no repentance in the grave.

We don't have to agree, however eternity will tell the tale. And if, as a sister in Christ, I fail to alert anyone going against the tenets of God, then I will have to answer for it.

However truth and facts are what matter as the scripture admonishes us to judge righteous judgment as it pertains to false doctrine... It also says to try the spirits if they be of God.. They are several scriptures that allows us to call out these false doctrines to preserve the sanctity of the true gospel... This is exactly what the early church had to go through... And we were for warned by them in scripture... So don't ever be afraid to call out sin and false teaching in love as the Bible instructs us to do.

God blessed him. The meaning behind hell is symbolic not literal. Bishop lived twenty years with cancer and to see a ripe old age, he maintained himself until the very end. May he R.I.P.

God blesses everyone on earth. I have seen wicked, ungodly men and women live to 80s. God blesses all. He causes the rain to fall on the sinner and the righteous. Because he wants all to repent and be saved. So it's not about how long one lives on earth but where you go when you breath your last. By the way it is God who decreed man's demise in the garden of Eden. God told Adam by the sweat of your face you shall eat bread. Till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken, for dust you are and to dust you shall return.
No man on earth can escape death cos it was appointed by God. The same God also has promised hell to those who reject him and heaven to those who accept him through Jesus Christ. Let this truth about death help us see and realise that hell is real. May the Lord help us all.

Oh!! Shame Bishop Calton my condolences to his family and the people who love him, like myself. I just found out about his passing this year. But I don't judge him we are all human only God and he knows everything. All I can say is rest in power Bishop.
