@@akrobeau you can huff my jorts, everyone knew what they meant. There’s a time and place to be picky about what the right word is, and that place is not youtube comments, that place is academic papers where that level of specificity is a necessity.
The inclusion of the brass section reminded me of when our field show "Drum Solo" one year essentially became "Brass Quintet Solo With Light Percussion Accompaniment." It was tough enough to make "The Lonely Goatherd" from _Sound of Music_ into a drum solo without a tuba, a trombone, and three trumpets intruding (OK, I'll grant that the song practically begs for a tuba...)! And immediately after, we launched into "Edelweiss," where the drum line played handbells. We had to borrow the handbells from a church, and didn't get to actually rehearse the parts or the technique to play them until two weeks before our first competition.
Thanks for the video, I am just starting and this warmup really helps me play better. I would recommend doing this before you practice as it is really easy to do and also is an amazing warmup in general, can even do it when showering. Ps: I recommend to do the snare solo with your nose, thank me later.
thanks so much 😊 i just finished my first year in drumline and im going to move to snare next year and this will help me and the new members do better!
I hope that somewhere out there, some aspiring drum player clicked this video thinking they were about to learn the best kept secrets of drumming, and they realized how hard drumming is and quit on the spot because they will never be able to drum at 200 hertz
i broguht out the drumsticks+practice pad and everything with the feeling it was gonna be one of THOSE videos. I'm not disappointed in the video, just disappointed i tried knowing i aint got a clue what half thse symbols mean
How did you change between the unpitched drumline instruments and the pitched piano, trumpet, glock, etc. in the same staff? I assume you’re using Musescore, and I thought you couldn’t change between pitched and unpitched instruments in the same staff, which is one of my biggest complaints about it.
This school is so lucky, my drum line only had 0.5 trumpet players, we didn’t have enough people for the giorno theme instrument
Hey b0ss
How do you get half a trumpet player
@@ridingmaster1459 they suck? Idk
My school had like 30-40 people in band with 9 trumpets
Almost as bad as having 30 violins in a 40 person orchestra

There was no metamorph tho
@@deepnocean the snare solo after ghostlight opener.

@@deepnocean yep! I am also a brass nerd lol. once you've listened to shows too much then you everything about them, it's weird.
0:36 That snare solo do be sounding like my printer tho.
that and 0:52 are my favorite parts
I think you need a new printer
This made me laugh so hard
Im dying over the math equation at 0:58

Yo this is hella good. I can’t wait to practice this, especially 1:15. That is the most iconic piece of music in history.
You should practice 0:36
I just understood it now
PH theme for the 13 year olds
Does *0.25x* feel good, or are you the *2x* type?
I wonder why my brother always practices that piece in the bathroom 🤔
No matter when I go back to this video, I always lose it when the single bar of 7/8 Carol of the Bells hits at 1:04. Good job
Also _il vento d'oro_ right before it.
1:47 is how every high school band finishes their show
THATS EXACTLY HOW WE DID OURS LMAO

1:06 sounds genuinely good
that’s because it’s a jazz song called take 5 by dave brubeck :)
No.
wtf kokushibo
No it doesnt
I just love how it stops and then after a moment of realisation is goes again like it was concious.
Yeah there were train tracks (slanted line at the top line) that mean to stop for a few seconds
the giornos theme was a good touch i liked that.
Then right after "hark how the bells". Genius.
No one's gonna talk about that "MF Animals" tenor solo at 0:46 ?
THANK YOU FOR POINTING THIS OUT
YESSSS
casually throwing in the phub theme
Gotta use the most recognisable drum lick
1:15 c'mon now you know this beat
Sounds like Toto - Rosanna. A bit. A tone-deaf version. But the groove is there.
3 months late but it hit me only after reading this comment .___. I am ashamed.
Claire de lune duh
the only beat a whole high school would cheer for
I don't recognize the beat. Maybe Toto - Rosanna
0:37 you have to pet him _nicely_
CHIHUAHUA
I respect the metamorph lick at 1:50
I love the “IM NOT HEARING ANY DUTTING” just devolving into a car horn
Currently in 7th grade, I just completed this warmup and it helps a lot thanks! Recommend for any beginner

1:22 Khachaturian's Symphony No. 3 is not something I was expecting to hear
That was actually the Blue Devil's opener for 2019 DCI, however that was based off the piece you just named
@@leif2173 yeah the Blue Devils used the Khachaturian in their performance

The ghost light and metamorph parts 💀
Metamorph will always have a special place in my heart

0:52, that one cockroach when you spray raid in them
The words there killed me
As a rookie drummer myself, I really appreciated this. Thanks!
I like how it randomly incorporates a tasteful rendition of "Take Five" before returning back to chaos
Never have I heard Take Five played on a battery percussion instrument. Well done.
I'd love to imagine a elementary school band trying their best to play this
The ever so slightly unhinged tap off is the first foreshadowing of what is to come. It’s perfect
This is recommended to me on a daily basis, I watch this on a daily basis.
Man thanks
Now I can play the entire band and a piano on my drums now that I learned this easy drum practice

I absolutely love the 4 of the second measure.

1:42 how literally every marching band ends their show
0:46 my schools line straight took that tenor solo and built a whole frickin cadence around it… that’s how good that little 2 bar chunk sounded

We need to have so many of these on RUclips people actually looking for warmups aren't able to find any
So easy! I just played this on my snare drum, and I got it perfectly! Thank you :D
as a tenor player, one of the most important things to learn is euphonium. i don't understand why this isn't taught more often!!!
euphonium is just tenor tuba
