Noticing the movement of her hand, the Doctor gently held onto it. And as if reading her mind, the Doctor instinctively brought it next to his mask. Despite the freezing cold mask, she silently chuckled. 'Ah...those two are so alike...' "...Father...I'm such a silly child...please forgive this fool of a daughter..." With every flake, she felt the freezing snow accumulating on her cheeks. 'It was snowing on that day too...wasn't it...father?' While the end felt like an eternity, her body finally gives in. Her hand slowly slipped out of the Doctor's hand, leaving only a small smile on her face. Smiling proudly as if everything was just fine. As if she was still here... My highly embellished headcanon for the last several lines of that stage. T-T
We didn't win. No one won in that sequence of events. Lunmen lost many lifes, Reunion was devestated, Rhodes Island lost one of it's precious members, Frostnova. If we cannot save everyone, then it is not victory. Rhodes Island didn't set sail to reduce number of deaths, its to eliminate death and hate. Every loss of live is another too many. The writing of chapter 6 is just... Wow. I didn't think they could make me both pity and hate Mephisto but I did. I didn't think I would care about the background faceless reunion mobs but i did. I didn't think I would care about FrostNova much less like her in one chapter but the madlads did it in one sequence. Sharing her past and pranking us with really spicy candy... Partial Necrosis really is what Camelot was for FGO's writing and if I heard correctly Chapter 7 is going to be Arknights's Babylon...
Ikr. i dont really care about mephisto, infact i really hate him. But the yeti squad and frostnova story is really well done that i legit feel so sad for them even tho we only know them for 1 chaprer... The moment that hit me like a truck after fn death is when the yeti squad cheers for fn and talk about blaze wanna drink with them too one day
Well you could argue that Mephisto was masterfully crafted if the point was for us to hate him. Like, there's no amount of tragic backstory that will save his ass from me at this point But holy hell the writing of chapter 6 is one emotional masterpiece. I think the most impressive feat is how they humanized Reunion's foot soldiers. Think about it for a second (I re-read the entire story from chapter 1 to 5 two days ago). There were only 2 instances of Reunion members acting human before. The first one was during the call between Misha and Amiya in chapter 3, when Misha showed Amiya the desperation of the Infected (+ mentions of wanting to go home). The second one was a single line of dialogue in chapter 4 where a random Reunion soldier commented on his fear of becoming one of Mephisto's puppets. At first glance it might look badly done to have Reunion members suddenly become real people 6 chapters into the story but they even took care of that in a really simple manner. Every last Reunion member we met throughout chapters 1 to 5 were either Infected blinded by hate and rage against Chernobog (or Rhodes Island in chapter 3, and galvanised by Skullshatterer's rage) or they were fanatics led by Mephisto (exception for Faust's phantom crossbowmen but they barely talk in chapter 5). Chapter 6 is the very first time we met Reunion members that were different. The Yeti Squadron didn't feed on hate, it couldn't anymore. These guys fought for the Infected, they fought for the untainted ideal of founding a home for the lost Infected, they were good people who's only crime was to not encounter a Rhodes Island to believe in. They fought because it was their only way. It's fucking sad how relatable the Yetis were when you really think about it.

i think the doctor as much as he's shown to be somewhat a "Bad" Guy, still sees the infected as human beings, so anytime one dies in front of him, its like losing someone he could have helped, and with the way frostnova went out, i think it screwed with him a little.

Thanks for making me cry for the first time in several years, Arknights. It gets so much sadder when you take into account every detail, how she wasn't planning to die, because she had some amulet that was supposed to save her in case of such emergency but it broke.
When I saw Frostnova die I literally became irrational. I didn't cry, but I numbly re-entered 6-16 without support, and manually beat it again and again until I burnt through 3 stones. A fitting three-volley salute for a great warrior and a great woman.
Reunion bosses, especially FrostNova She really have that attack on titan vibe to her, the criminal who wanted to keep on living, but couldn't bear the weight of her sins. May her and her brethens be reunited, be it hell or heaven
When I started Arknights a year ago, it was fun... I enjoy the story and realize, this Gacha game offers more than just gameplay. Awesome song, engaging game, and there's an actual story to follow. The translation and writing is done well and not some Google Translate shit. All the events was fun, then ch.6 is release, the community blew up, many says the story is awesome and I'm still in ch.4. I told myself, nevermind, I will take my time. When I finally finished ch.6 about 3 months ago... some part of me died. I never really recover since then, and now I accidentally stumble on this OST... I'm crying again... damn...
Though I agree for the most part, even for me the dialouge got way too long when I was at chapter 9. After that I've lost my motivation to read the story and just rely on the youtubers that retell it. I swear the story feels so much more immersive with less words, the story gets drowned for me.
