    The phrase emphasized in this video is actually the phrase that I did not understand. By concept and looking for keywords I got that what being asked is about the drinks. I am learning a lot from you! Thanks! Me and my husband will definitely visit Japan as soon as it opens again for foreign travelers 👍🏼👏🏼

    i never knew that they would ask you when they should bring the drinks.... Usually the restaurants just bring our drinks and food automatically

    Hi, Tanaka san. Thanks for your work.
    I play your videos repeatedly and it's good for my learning.
    Can you make another video for restaurant? I know you have done restaurant conversations but what works for me is the series of phrases for restaurant like this video (like Travel Phrases and Small Talk phrases). Also if possible, phrases for restaurant reservation over the phone.
    Got you coffee for your efforts!
    Thank you.

    This really helps to practice the Theorie of the Books. I can oractice listening and speaking with your Videos! Thank you so much! I really wnt to communicate and make Japanese feel comfortable in my presence. I don't want to be an ignorant Tourist. I want to be someone they can talk to.

    I’m having a hard time with this ordering food conversation, but this made me understand things a little bit better. I usually confuse which counting ‘thing’ to use with the food I say, like should I say 一つ or should I say 一個. Also can someone explain why we used で at the end of the sentence ”オレンジジュスとホットコヒーで“

    • @charlesm2437
      @charlesm2437 Год назад +1

      つ can be used to count almost anything. 個 can also be used to count almost anything but is usually used to count small round things like apples, oranges, eggs.
      The particle で can be used to show what you're doing something with. ペンで/with a pen 自転車で/with a bicycle.
      So で is used here because the question the waiter literally asks means "As for the drink, how would you like to do it?" And Tanaka replied "with orange juice and hot coffee". If the waiter asked him what he would like to eat with, Tanaka would reply with フォークで/with a fork or お箸で/with chopsticks.

      This is an incomplete sentence. The customer meant to say オレンジジュースとホットコーヒーでお願いします。
      By adding 「で」it shows the intention of the customer trying to be a little more polite than just saying [オレンジジュースとホットコーヒー。」
