I feel the same way! I find it so unrelatable when someone is like 'spending $2000 at the Lego store' Puts me right off. Read the room, most people aren't in that position 😅
It’s refreshing to hear someone say that they aren’t boutta drop those on the new wave. I feel like most LEGO RUclipsrs feel inclined to buy every set but that’s just so unrealistic
And then they get sent them all for free anyways. Almost like they say "I'm gonna buy all these day one, so YOU should too." as a marketing tool or something...
I can't afford every Lego set by far, I get that ones I think are epic or neat or different and then build those on my channel. Can't review or get them all so I don't try
It's refreshing to see an anti-haul and someone talk about being disciplined with what they are collecting. It's good encouragement for me as I have been trying to cut back some! 😋
I understand your reasons and honestly I would totally get Miles vs Morbius alongside the CMF series 24, those are what I’m extremely hyped for, I mean Newspaper Kid can be useful for a Steve Rogers custom and the experimental update ideas to try on Morbius will be fun
I have bought legos like crazy the last few year, and I agree with you. I am restricting what I am spending on it. I just think the raised prices have made all Lego fans decide to buy less.
I’m hyped for the new 501st battle pack and the new cmf series this January. I’m just trying see what I get for Christmas before I buy anything. I just hope Walmart doesn’t stop the clearance sales.
I like the idea of the anti haul video and is so satisfying to watch. Personally I’m going to make many anti haul decisions throughout the coming year as I need to cut down drastically. It will be interesting to see you make a video next December to see how disciplined you were and how much you saved.
It is crazy how inflation has hit Lego hard. Smaller sets are still quite expensive. I collect Star Wars, Harry Potter and avatar, will definitely be buying the next avatar wave. I may have to pass on the new Harry Potter sets due to running out of space in my Harry Potter area
I’m only going to get that Miles Morales Spider-Man vs Morbius set for the minifigures as well. I think the only thing about the Morbius minifigure that I find odd is that he doesn’t have the wings he has in the comics, but I guess that can be fixed with a custom
Thanks for helping me decide what not to buy as I agree with you on most of these set, I’m not into marvel and brick heads at all. Wish I had a Lego store here in NZ close to me!
You could argue nothing is day 1…sales kick in mid-Jan or February as sales drop a bit. And as you mentioned always have a few sets in mind for May 4th promo
The only thing I will buy on day 1, actually week 1, will be the new CMF. There are some nice sets coming out, but they can wait for a sale or decent promotion/GWP.
I’m gonna get the Tie and 501st BP day one but the modular and the marvel sets are definitely on the list to get when there’s some double points or promos to get.
I'm most excited for the imperial tie bomber, other than that I'm not buying anything, unless they release some lotr and the hobbit Legos. Keep up the good work Holly, love the vids.
@@HollyOnFilm well if it is a good set then I might go broke, but I'd rather have ANY lotr set over the hulkbuster, I can wait until March, that's when my birthday is

I’m definitely going to pick up the Tie Bomber but now you’ve mentioned waiting until the May the 4th release, I’m thinking that might be a better plan! Great videos, keep up the awesome work!
I agree with you on all of them except the new hulk buster. Reason being I didn't get either of the other 2, the first because it wasn't epic enough size wise and the 2nd because way too expensive and the proportions were off. But this one for 50 bucks, works for me just right I think. Everything else is agreeably meh tho I do like the TIE bomber overall
This video helped me decide to just wait and not buy sets on January 1st because there's really no point to. I was only gonna get a couple of sets, so I might as well wait until I get a deal or double vip points. I've gotten sets the past 2 years on January 1st and now that I think about it I really only did it for fun to be like everyone else who does it and it's not worth it for me especially with prices going up. I was excited to use my vip points but those aren't going anywhere... so I will be better off saving it for a double vip weekend
I usually don't buy sets right when they're released, so if I buy certain sets, like the Marvel mechs, I'll space them out over time during the year...and probably wait until they go on sale. I'm going to start grabbing the Series 24 minifigures right away!
Anti haul should be a thing. Most Lego youtubers "consume product then get excited for next product" and its so dystopian. People will buy anything with a lego logo
I have no Lord of the Rings lego sets so maybe Gandalf and the Balrog head I might get. But all the other sets, I'll pass. I got the really cool Lion Knight Lego castle set and the display case to protect so I'm down money and space is getting smaller and smaller. I don't know how much it'll cost but if it ever comes out I wanna get the final scene for The Goonies lego set. Check it out, it is really cool and I'm sure going to be really expensive.
I actually don't mind the look of the Morbius car, the minifigs are basically a bonus for me. I love star wars empire stuff so the Tie Bomber is a must for me, although I never even thought about waiting for the May 4th deal before. I am a sucker for Ghost Rider and will be getting that mech, for the minifig and the bike. I will just skip any brickheads, avatar and lotr sets, those aren't for me.

I find it weird that Lego has many products each year yet the quality is strange. The new TIE-bomber for example: Nice design which makes people want it. But why the small extra build, why the bare instruction cover, why isn't the cockpit conver trans-black, why aren't de miscles (6 or 8, not 4) dropped when turning a gear in the back, are there even easter eggs or funny utensils anymore? The sets look nice from the outside, but I feel like it's almost always something stationary with no real play value. 8/10 times the sets turn out to be dust collectors instead of something you pick up a play with for a couple of minutes. And no Lego, whooshing a ship around and manually pushing out miscles aren't play functions. Power Miners did it exactly right. I wonder if a designer is short on time or just lacks the motivation / brains to make each project the best it can be.
Anti-Haul videos are some of my favorites lol. You see so many “MOST EXPENSIVE HAUL EVER???” type videos, it’s really nice to break up the monotony.
