this video is severely underrated, and the same goes for your channel as a whole. just finished playing we were here forever with a friend and wanted some clarity, and your video was exactly what I needed. the story instantly became crystal clear, and now I finally understand how all the dots connect together, and thats without mentioning how high quality overall the video was. youre an absolute champ, keep up the good work :)
This was very informative and enjoyable to watch! My first theory years ago with the first game was that the explorers were stuck in some kind of loop, since you can see flashbacks or hallucinations of earlier explorers struggling to get through the maze's halls. But maybe there were just others that came before? The disguised Jester did say ''another soul here to save me''. Maybe the others failed to make the soulstone before us? There are corpses of explorers outside in the fourth game who might've been through the same thing to try and get out of the castle, but we're the only ones making any real progress. Also I felt like pointing out; you said in the fourth game dark blue and dark green were left behind, but there was a red explorer and a yellow one in the previous games aswell. What I failed to notice was in the fifth game we play as both the red and yellow explorers who are trying to find back their friends, but stumble on something else instead. It's not really part of Castle Rock's story, but it's a nice little detail to know that, once they got out, they probably met up somewhere to find a way back to save their friends. The fourth game was definitely a finale to the Castle Rock's existance. But it does not seem like yellow and red are anywhere done as they will want to find back their friends they left behind. Chances for a sixth game maybe? Surely hope so! Jester is also still out there, if the devs feel like it, maybe they could work a game around him? His body is falling apart (there's a crack on the Jester's right leg) and he could never become a part of society as a moving puppet, it's not halloween every night.
