The secret ending where the gate is stuck open being a secret bad ending where the marionette escapes with you would make significantly more sense than what we got. This would also explain why all the exits require two people to get one to leave, it's to trap the marionette.
Jell and Ben trying to trick each other into leaving so that they could be the sacrifice was genuinely adorable. I was smiling like a fool the entire time.
Ben’s tone when he lies KILLED me. You can hear the air escaping his lungs as he tries to bullshit his way into being the self-sacrificial one. It’s so fucking funny.
Ben and Jill are basically just me vs my thoughts here as a person who has adhd, outside I'm just Ben but my brain is A B S O L U T E R A N D O M N E S S
I'm sorry but "Don't become a goth. It's not allowed." killed me for some reason. Also so excited to see a continuation of this series! Top tier content as always, loved the banter between you and Jell, genuinely cracks me up. Great video, can't wait to see what you make next.
There is a popular theory as to why the peasant returns- two actually The first and most simple is that the marionette possesses him and makes him go back in for spite The second being that the peasant knows the sacrifice from the first game is still there, seemingly evidenced by the lord looking at his radio lining up with the first game ending where the sacrifices radio goes off, so he returns to try and rescue the man left behind, as if they found a way for both of them to escape it stands to reason there would be one for the sacrifice- and something to note is that it’s never shown if the lord goes in as well or leaves, leaving it up to interpretation
There was a cue that you had to leave the room in the cube puzzle. When you enter a cube room the door behind you shuts until the correct cube is chosen which is followed by the door reopening and all the lights shutting off (my friend and I got the hint that the room powered down) The door should have had an audio cue though when it closed and reopened to get the players attention.
aaaaaa pls keep going with these!! the next games have a lot more lore and the marionette/joker becomes a lot more relevant, they really do get progressively better with each installment
Me and my friend are playing these now thanks to you. While I've had fun with some of the puzzles we are exhausted after a bit of game 3. Some of those really got my head spinning
I'm sorry but Jell's reactions are so hilarious, like when he was watching the last stair piece just slide into the wall, his sprite is just making all these weird faces and the weird noises ENHANCE IT SO MUCH LMAO
"The Maze" is still an inside joke with me and my friend, I just couldn't get it down. We literally only passed that point because I memorized one of the layouts and just waited for that one to show up. Obviously this took awhile. My friend was not happy, watching me bumble around and impulsively go the wrong way just from the pressure of being under a time limit. It was kind of heartening to watch you two do it, saying things like "u turn" and emphasizing finding a way of communicating that works. (The following puzzle did also take us a half hour. But only because I didn't understand how the symbols on the wall correlated to what my friend was seeing, so I just... never mentioned them at all. Communication skills.)
The We Were Here series is really a great experiment on the concept of asymmetrical co-op. It's one of my favorite series, warts and all! I'm pretty sure the franchise is over now with We Were Here Forever but I hope they continue with a new IP to push the co-op puzzle solving to new heights.
I honestly forgot entirely about this game series. I tried playing the first one with my girlfriend but we got to the theater area where I died trying to get a better look at the monster there and we just gave up
Perfectly cut screams are truly some of the best content 💖💖💖 Also it’s so genuinely great seeing two friends trying to trick the other into surviving like that’s totally something me and my best friend would do
Thanks for returning to this game it was one of my favorite videos from you too! Also I really like your dynamic with Jell, you seem like very good friends, it's endearing ^^ keep being awesome!
Please do more of this! I love seeing you play this. I hope you play the whole series! PS: I love how your both so selfless that you were trying to trick the other into leaving XD
i’m so happy you covered the second game!! your video on the first game is genuinely one of my favorite videos ever, and this one is just as good!!! (just finished it, that was so silly kjhkjfjfkgjf. hoping you play the others in the series!)
13:20 I think the problem there was an issue with you, not the game. If I saw my reticle change, I'd immediately begin seeing if I can interact. You're just oblivious.
21:56 I think what happened here is that you realised there might have been some unlucky people who were out in the cold like you were, and had a tragic hero moment where you went back to wait until someone did so you could help set them free too
Damn, it's a shame this one wasn't as good as the last one. The glitches and other shortcomings that this game had gives me the impression the game had a rushed development cycle. I could imagine that the small issues like the hud not giving you a clear indication that you could interact with a few objects were because the devs didn't have time to iron out those issues for some reason. The Marionette especially just reeks of cut content surrounding him, like they wanted to do more with him but had to cut out all of the scenes where he was an actual threat. So they just settled on having him be a background character. Despite all that though, I think this video was just a good as your video on the last game! I think you and Jell managed to make the best out of what seems like a pretty unstable game, and that lead to some funny shenanigans as a result. The part were you guys tried to manipulate each other into being the one who gets freed was golden, especially since one of the characters was scripted to stay behind anyway, lmao. Though I'm guessing the peasant went back in to look for the rest of the group, which could lead to some interesting gameplay mechanics if that's the case (e.g. Having to guide two AI companions while simultaneously guiding the other player could be interesting if done well). All in all, great video Ben, I wouldn't mind seeing you and Jell tackle some more co-op games in the future!
If the love letters in the books were signed by the person who wrote them, wouldn't that make the authours of the letters switched from how u said in the video? [03:40]
I somehow feel like the lever ending was suppose to allude to the first game in that the two from that game might still be inside especially since the whole point in why these two go in was to find them after seeing there destress flair.
I feel the alternate ending would work better if 1) you both jsut escape or 2) provide a REASON the otheer player goes back. Maybe the marionette grabs them or appears in front of them to stoptheir escape, or maybe theres a promise of treasure or soemthing. you can't jsut have them go back for NO REASON. What, the mystery of the castle? what mystery? THere's no story hinted here.
There even was a completely plausible reason for it too! As Ben described in the opening cutscene, there's a group of four, 2 get separated, the other two see the flare coming from nearby the castle and go there to investigate hoping to find their friends. Because you didn't find your friends, one of the two decides to go back inside and explore further hoping that they'll be able to find them.
I hope you play the final two games, because compared to the first to games they are significantly bigger and better. And they also get rid of most of the symbol discribing in favour of more complicated puzzles
SPIT YOUR SHIT KING, I love this series as a whole, though I was sadly never able to play the full third or fourth game as my friendship with the one who played it with me went south. One day though. One day.
(spoilers don't read this if U haven't seen the video)I think I know why the peasant go back in the castle,I think he is trying to find the other 2 guys that they were trying to find in the first place, since their flair was shot near the castle we have to assume that they are still in there dead or alive, while the king stays outside or go somewhere to find help since they can use the radio to communicate and right before the screen goes black the king looks at the radio while the peasant walks back in
zero escape ost.... hell yeahhhhhh. and yeah me and my brother had a struggle with the chess puzzle, it made us go nuts we werent able to get past round 2 i think we had stayed up too late lol
The secret ending where the gate is stuck open being a secret bad ending where the marionette escapes with you would make significantly more sense than what we got.
This would also explain why all the exits require two people to get one to leave, it's to trap the marionette.
Makes sense
They remembered that their friends were implied to be in there and went back to look, clearly.
Mario nette
Jell Rat is a welcome addition to these videos. He has the Manic Charisma to contrast with Bens Monotone calmness.
I agree
the ideal kinda comedy duo tbh
In one of ben vids he says that jell is a living cartoon so....
Literally! Like a match made in heaven, I love these attitudes and I’d love to see more!
Jell and Ben trying to trick each other into leaving so that they could be the sacrifice was genuinely adorable. I was smiling like a fool the entire time.
I even though I’ve only seen the two videos with them they’re already one of my favorite duos on this platform.
I want a TV show
one is "✨kyaaaa✨" and the other is "*monotone screaming"*" and they match so well!
Jell and Ben have big ‘protoganists in the anime that people write weird fanfic about’ energy
I could see that.
Ben’s tone when he lies KILLED me. You can hear the air escaping his lungs as he tries to bullshit his way into being the self-sacrificial one. It’s so fucking funny.
Jell running around in his cell and screaming gibberish while Ben is getting food is just me on a daily basis tbh lol. Love your videos Ben!

Jell's cut scream at 14:25 absolutely sold me on a twitch follow for funny factor alone!

yeah this game does a good job of telling the player when they need to move or interact with something. these guys may not just be very observant lol
21:24 I love that your conversation weirdly matched up with the cutscene lmao
DUDE YOU SO RIGHT
I think the ending is that the person who went back remembered, "Hey, weren't our friends here? Why didn't we see them?"
Ben again plus Jell = pure entertainment
Jell turning into a howling dog got me.
aaaaaa pls keep going with these!! the next games have a lot more lore and the marionette/joker becomes a lot more relevant, they really do get progressively better with each installment

Thoughts on We Were Here Exibitions?
Loved the video Ben! Made me laugh with Jell being in the void lol
11:00 i love the monotone screaming
The peasant was in charge. He longed for power, tasted it, and couldn’t leave it.
Love when starting out RUclipsrs have such high quality videos. Can't wait to see this guy grow : )
15:47 was the highlight of my day
As someone who's played all the games, I adore them and it's also so hard hearing your struggles with the description puzzles
I honestly forgot entirely about this game series. I tried playing the first one with my girlfriend but we got to the theater area where I died trying to get a better look at the monster there and we just gave up
I'm pretty sure the peasant turns back because of loyalty - the duo didn't find the rest of the 4 person team.
I remember playing this with friends in high school! Love that you've made videos on this game!
I'm watching through all of your videos and I can't wait to see you and Jell play the 3rd one! You guys are hilarious together.
Perfectly cut screams are truly some of the best content 💖💖💖
Also it’s so genuinely great seeing two friends trying to trick the other into surviving like that’s totally something me and my best friend would do
My favorite hidden gem strikes again
You and Jell really make this vid fun. Thank you for another wonderful vid. I eagerly await the next part in this series 😃
This guy his hilarious 😂 You guys are awesome and I love all the little icons you used for Jell, especially the barking dog and the silky cat!
Thanks for returning to this game it was one of my favorite videos from you too! Also I really like your dynamic with Jell, you seem like very good friends, it's endearing ^^ keep being awesome!
love when jell rat is included you guys are so fun!
Really hoping to see future videos on the rest of the series! Great video!
I think Jell and Ben playing A Way Out and It Takes Two would be so fun to watch.
I think the secret ending is like- the peasant trying to prevent the Marionette from getting out?
Please do more of this! I love seeing you play this. I hope you play the whole series!
PS: I love how your both so selfless that you were trying to trick the other into leaving XD
Can’t wait to see you play the rest of the series, I hope you and Jell have a lot of fun with it.
BABE WAKE UP, BENAGAIN POSTED
your commentary is always so cool :D
also i love the embracing the void segment XD
i’m so happy you covered the second game!! your video on the first game is genuinely one of my favorite videos ever, and this one is just as good!!! (just finished it, that was so silly kjhkjfjfkgjf. hoping you play the others in the series!)
Always a good day when a Ben video drops!
Gotta say, one of my fav things about this channel is the thumbnail ❤️🔥
Super fun video! I love watching puzzle games with interesting stories. Also, Jell Rat's reactions made me laugh.
6:58 MADE ME HOWL
13:20 I think the problem there was an issue with you, not the game. If I saw my reticle change, I'd immediately begin seeing if I can interact. You're just oblivious.
Kinda true, I would probably notice it changing. More of a Ben problem indeed.
Sheesh gettin better every video , loved it.
15:07 despite all their rage they’re still just a rat in a cage :3
I laugh SO hard at these gameplay videos! Thanks for helping out with the Sunday Scaries. :)
Can't wait for you and Jell to play the rest of the series
I need to see the whole series 🙏
LMAO I laughed when Jel yelled at the realization that you had to replay to get all nevers. The horror
you two have a fantastic dynamic :] super fun video!!
12:08 the utter terror in his voice was hilarious
21:56 I think what happened here is that you realised there might have been some unlucky people who were out in the cold like you were, and had a tragic hero moment where you went back to wait until someone did so you could help set them free too
Ben, your videos are so in-depth! I really love it!
LET'S GOOOOO! NEW VIDEO!

So like
Might wanna do that idk these are good videos
Bruh I was blind, thought it said We Here Too Were
Definition of gamers becoming voice actors while playing
You HAVE to play the others too!! I Youre the reason I bought every title from this series!!
Damn, it's a shame this one wasn't as good as the last one. The glitches and other shortcomings that this game had gives me the impression the game had a rushed development cycle. I'd like to think Ben's peasant could sense his lingering survivor's guilt from the last game and decided to stay behind in the end anyway. (◡‿◡✿)
this series is amazing pleaase play more of it!!!
Amazing video as always! I love watching your vids while I draw!
If the love letters in the books were signed by the person who wrote them, wouldn't that make the authours of the letters switched from how u said in the video? [03:40]
liked this video :) had a few laughs, love how you two interacted lmao

YES FINALLY! play the other games please. we were here together is probably the most "in the vibe" ive ever been in a game
I hope you play the final two games, because compared to the first to games they are significantly bigger and better. And they also get rid of most of the symbol discribing in favour of more complicated puzzles
Lets go Ben again upload!!!
"All I can see is your little red light." Scp 3001

Lets goo Ben back again with a new vid!!
Aw Heck yea!!! BENS BACK GUYS!!
Your videos make me smile every time I click on and see the face of your silly little avatar man!
11:01 monotone screaming
amazing video!
SPIT YOUR SHIT KING, I love this series as a whole, though I was sadly never able to play the full third or fourth game as my friendship with the one who played it with me went south. One day though. One day.

The Jell Saga continues
Y’all are a great duo. Thanks for playing these games, I love love love escape games, however this one is co op so I can’t partake.
The sequel we needed
zero escape ost.... hell yeahhhhhh. and yeah me and my brother had a struggle with the chess puzzle, it made us go nuts we werent able to get past round 2 i think we had stayed up too late lol
Nice use of the Unwound Future soundtrack! I didn't know you were into Layton :0
Loved this😂
Can't wait for "Three Were Here!"
I think the whole "Radios don't work bug" is meant to emulate a bad signal.
Perfect timing for my nap🙏🙏🙏
Love your videos Ben hopefully a video about omori is coming soon
I think the peasant goes back because they went into their for the other duo but they didn't find them
Nice vid i will subscribe
